I hear people say that St. Thomas came to India 2000 years back to India. It seems that he was killed at the Little mount in Chennai and he used to pray at what is now called St. Thomas mount. It seems the San Thome Church also has some evidence. I want to know, if there is any records available for proving these things?

I visited St. Thomas' Mount back in 1977. I saw the cave with its opening in the ceiling caused supposedly when St. Thomas in trying to escape from his captors thumped it with a wooden beam. It is said to have opened miraculously for his escape. He then propped himself and hurt his elbow, ran further down, & having eluded his captors, went down on his knees resting his bleeding elbow on a rock. His bloodstain is still visible on that rock which is now a little church/chapel. It's still there & many attempts had been done to remove the stain. That's as much as I have seen

Vatican hasnt yet accepted this 'story'. There are many historical records which suggest that there was one another thomas, a syrian mallu or something like that.Raveen wrote in detail abt this long back....

The theory of St.Thomas was cooked up by the local church to appropriate all noble Tamil cultural things.... otherwise the Tamil civilisation was running contrary to the churchian beleif that all non-christians were uncivilised!

moreover when the west came to india ,they did saw some local people oraying to jesus in an indian way.these people had some vague folk stories hardly authentic.the western preachers retaught christianity to them doctoring and reinterpreting their folk tales to put it in accordance to the christianity and hinduism they understood.they spread falsi ideas like brahmins killed thomas etc to stengthen their hold and preventing them from getting reinfluenced by hindus after they have left.the painting of a brahmin killing thomas is the most doctered version and the brahmin picture in the church contains him wearing his thread from right to left.
NO major ancient literary work in tamil cared to mention the christians if they really existed at that time.
