Kambarasam by C. N. Annadurai

I have heard about this work. Apparently it is a satire on the sexual aspects of the Kambaramayanam. I tried to get a copy when I was in Tamil Nadu last, but couldn't.
I think the Kambaramayanam is one of the classic works of poetry in Tamil, and that Kamban is among the greatest Tamil poets. If Annadurai picked the so called "obscene" parts of this masterpiece and satirized them, I feel he did a great disservice to both Kamban and Tamil. If his intent was something else, what was it? In general, people in olden times did not have the same hang-ups about sex which are there in today's society (they might have had different hang-ups at different times.)
Was there any criticism of Annadurai for having written this work? Did he write it when he was under the influence of EVR in the DK, or did he write it later, when he split from the DK? Did this book just follow EVR's remark that "Tamil is a 'kaattumiraaNdi bashai'?" Or was it Annadurai's independent view that the Kambaramayanam is somehow "inferior". If the latter, I will disagree strongly with Annadurai, as I think that all Tamils should be proud of the Kambaramayanam.

calling backwards as b**tards is clearly an act of a cheap rated b**tard.I agree that the Karunanidhi Annadurai were all frauds and they used the sentiments of the people to their benifit but they we successful mainly because of the over dominations of the upper class brahmins
inspite of I myself being an upper caste I would strongly condemn the usage of words like su*ker to indicate the deceased persons like Dr Annadurai

there is no bigger cheap act than calling Periyar as a kanjan(stingy person) because he had cut about thousand palm trees of his own land as symbol of support to the Gandhi's anti toddy movement.
you never know the amount of pains that Periyar underwent while preaching.Just think of 'Vaikam' issue.
the organisations like RSS should be banned for circulating such cheap rated article.

Annadurai was a hypocrite just like his mentor EVR. He criticised only Hinduism. He, like EVR did not dare talk about the caste divisions in other religions. He wrote kamabarasam, but had it withdrawn once he came to power.
That EVR was miser was & is confirmed even by his followers. Rationalist Iyer coming to his rescue is amusing. And U have another person by name davie who excels in using the choicest epithets.
As long as these forums are used only to denigrate brahmins & brahminism, nothing even remotely useful will come out of these discussions.

Anna actully should have written Siddha (Dravida) rasam first then Kamba rasam.
Siddha rasam is insult to women.
