  If you observe vedic philology, you will know that Hiranyaksha, Hiranyakashipu, Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Vibhishana and Prahalada are not featured in the *vedas* but in the purAna-s.
  
  According to the Vedic theory, both Rakshashas and Devas are brothers. They both were born to the same father. Virocana and Indra go to Prajapati for spiritual guidance. Virocana fails the class and goes west (in Iranian Mythology, the Asuras are called AHURAS and their enemies are the DAEVAS (Devas))
  
  Even today, the Zorastrians(Parsis) who are ultimate descendants of the Asuras practice Upanayanam (thread bearing) and worship of FIRE(Agni).
  
  Ravana was specifically speaking not a DRAVIDIAN. He was a ruler of the indigenous Nagas and Yakshas of Sri Lanka. The British came from England and ruled India. Does that mean the British are Indians? In the same way, the Rakshashas occupied the south in the way the British came to India.

  All the Alwars and Nayanmars were champions of the Vedas (despite that fact that most of them were Harijans). In all their verses they extoll the beauty and significance of the vedas.

  British ruled India for over 200 years, and we now celebrate Christmas and many Indians write poetry and books in English. Will it make Indians British? After 1000 years of Aryan rule, many native Dravidians mastered Sanskrit and glorified Aryan traditions similar to African slaves in USA. Will it make the native Dravidians Aryans? No. Sathvahana kings promoted Pali as offcial language. The first written inscriptions found in South India were in Pali. Will that make South Indians were well versed in Pali and masses accepted it? No. Sanskrit is only spoken by less than .001% of Indians even today is a testimoney that it was not native to India.
  
  India is the land of Siva and Kali and they are continuously worshipped for over 5000 years. An 'avatara' is nothing but a convinient way to make up new stories. Dasavatara Vedic gods were invented by Ramanuja in 11th Century and later promoted by Vijayanagara kings. Statring 1857 Sipay mutiny, modren Brahmins are now carrying the Vedic/sanskrit torch for self promotion!
  
  When you people will realize that we live in free India and have a right to pray in our own language. Kings in the past might have imposed sanskrit, but we don't have to accept it today. Today we are the masters of our own destiny!! A society which has never mastered a single language, now you are saying we had the luxury to master two languages. That is pure baloney!
