the southies may be darker than the northners but u cannot say that they r not good looking.as southern region is nearer to equator they face more sunlight and become dark .also their diet consists of mostly rice and not wheat so they look less fair.
i have seen lots of northerners who have very fair skin but their faces r charmless.the southies look relatively better with their dark colour.
how much ever fair may u look ,remember that the europeans,americans (white) do not treat u as white.they will not be able to make out whether u r a north indian or south indian ,so stop being too proud of fair skin

Thanks Chennai Veeran for that important information about Dr. EVR's research an findings. No one should disagree with the great EVR. After all he was divine.
I also agree with Mormons that those people who were cursed by Jesus Christ became dark. Rev Immanuel and Rev Paul have found a solution to this problem. I am sure that their color has changed.
I however would like to stay as I am-dark.

great EVR should have plagiarized Dr.Radhakrishnan . Dr. RK once told to a Britishman god was making humans out of glay
1.overboiled--->become blacks
2.underboiled--->become whites
3.boiled properly become brown indians. hence brown indians are superior
since u r requesting BC certificate in many threads, based on color , i recommend it.

If Dr. RK said it, it was taken from gypsy folklore. It is what the gypsies in Europe say. European gypsies of course are originally from India.

>>I can't think of a single region in the world where guys do not go after a girl's looks and girls do not go after the guy's status<<
Arae Nisala:
I did not say this behaviour is unique to Indians. What is unique to Indians/SL, all former British slave countries is that beauty=white. Do you get my point?
Re: slave mentality and white obsession....In ancient Tamilnadu (sangam poems), maaniram (the color of tender mango leaves - I hope you have seen them and know their color) was the color attributed to beauty and pale skin was considered a sign of ill health.

Dear Nisala,
I'm not painting anyone racist. I am merely pointing out inconsistencies in arguments and problematic phrasing. Language has the power to hurt and hurt deeply, just as it has the power to heal.
However, I do believe that people who make verbal slips reveal a bit of themselves.
It is easy to mimic received opinion and slip into stock phrases; however, little do we realise the pain this causes to others.

Dear Krishna
"Language has the power to hurt and hurt deeply, just as it has the power to heal"
Yes I agree
"'I do believe that people who make verbal slips reveal a bit of themselves""
Yes people definitely reveal a lot about themselves in communication especially using the English language in the form it takes on F.H.
I am no exception to that, People also read a lot about people in what they write here, Yes everybody does this too some people look to deeply and some do not see at all.
Some people are more sensitive to seeing certain things than others, There could be many reasons why you see the post laced with racism and some people do not, but we will not go into that.
"""verbal slips"""", I do not like what you are implying here
Okay I almost lost my point, while the game of reading people and placing them in boxes is very interesting, be careful before you make judgements as sometimes people are very diff.
Ya Ya about the word 'native' well I do not have a problem using this word in its original form, However due to this word being tainted in the past, and it seems globally
If anyone's has been hurt because you were sensitive to this word, I apologise for not being sensitive to your sensitivity to the word and using it on a public forum.
