Depictions of Chola warriors

I am interested in any information anyone here has on the colors and styles of dress worn by warriors of the Chola Empire in the 10th and 11th centuries.

I know swordsmen in Chola armies are frequently depicted carrying small red shields.

Are common soldiers generally dressed in kilts, or loinclothes, or some other garb? Most importantly, what colors did they wear? Were they simple undyed linen or cotton garments, or did the soldiers dye their outfits? If so, what colors did they use?

Did the Chola paint their elephants with patterns and designs, or did they leave them their own natural colors?

Are commanders' parasols a certain color, or did this vary randomly from commander to commander?

As you can see, I am eager to hear any information on this that anyone has to offer. Color sources on the footsoldiers and elephantry of the Chola empire are very diffuclt to come by in the U.S.A.

Thanks in advance for all assistance,
Larry
