  Previous generation kannadigas favoured tamils to a very great extent and treated fellow kannadigas with contempt creating a demographic imbalance.Because of this special treatment tamils did not learn kannada.Even if he learned kannada , whom will he speak to ??? The moment they see a dark skinned fellow the kannadigas used to start talking to him in fluent tamil.I am quite fair-skinned and sharp nosed and kannadigas always speak to me in Hindi or Gujarati or sometimes even in Sindhi !!! I wonder how the illeterate low class kannadigas learnt so many languages !!!!
  
  So I DON'T BLAME TAMILS for not speaking in kannada.How can he speak unless somebody speaks to him !Gujaratis are not going to speak to tamils in kannada !!!
  
  Now the next generation is different ! They are not soft minded perhaps bcos of influence of movies , violence and sex , they are no longer innocent.They want everything for themselves.They want bangalore city for themselves , speak their language and marry their own women !!!
  
  So this present generation is trying to COMPENSATE for the mistakes of the past.
  
  Thats the reason for the violence , not kaveri water.Kaveri problem is suitable to settle scores thats all !

  Even today it is easier for a non-kannadiga to buy land in karnataka than a kannadiga who has lived in another state ! This policy of discrimination by the karnatka gov born out of foolishness and idoicy is responisble for tamilians and N.Indians holding disproportionately large amounts of land in karnataka.This has created panic amongst teh kannadigas and hence the violence.kaveri water issue is being used by them to settle other scores !
  
  Recently S.M.Krishna asked kannadigas to be more adventurous and asked "N.Indians have so much land in bangalore , how much land do the kannadigas have in New Delhi ??? "
  
  Instead of asking such questions , it would be good if that fool S.M.Krishna makes it easy for outside kannadigas to buy land in bangalore by the same easy process that is applied for tamilians and N.Indians.
  
  Only EQUAL TREATMENT for kannadigas , tamilians and N.Indians INSIDE KARNATAKA can put an end to the violence.
  
  The KARNATAKA government must stop discriminating against its own citizens , that is the kannadigas , if there is to be peace in Karnataka !

  Though I am a Tamil, I have lived in
  Bangalore for a year, I accept your feelings.
  Once a Auto driver remarked, "only wine shops are
  owned by Kannadigas". But similar kind of feelings are also from Mumbai. Bal Thakarey was
  once trying to stop the Non-Marathis to enter but it failed. Similar status to Chennai as well.
  Many Non-Tamils run big businesses in Chennai.
  
  
  But regarding the language problem. Even Mumbai
  is a Hindians dominated city, you can live without
  knowing Hindi but knowing English. But people
  go there pick up Hindi very easily because it is
  a popular language. In Chennai, it is not too
  difficult to survive without knowing Tamil and
  knowing English alone.
  
  But in case of Bangalore, it is possible to live
  knowing only Kannada/Tamil/English/Hindi. Telugu is also a popular language here. The acceptance of Hindi as a national language has pushed Kannada back and non-Tamils and non-Kannadigas(educated) prefer to communicate in Hindi.
  But it is untrue that Tamils dont speak in Kannada. Born & brought up Tamils do speak Kannada very well.
  
  The only difference between Chennai & Bangalore is
  Chennai's educational institutions have a better
  standards than compared to Bangalore's. This is
  bringing more Chennai borns in all jobs while
  in Bangalore, others are more competitive compared to Bangaloreans. Presence of vast number
  of Tamils in IT industry is one example for that.
  
  It is really a challenge to the Karnataka Government to bring up Kannadigas in Bangalore.
  They need to improve the standards of educational institutions owned by Government and give
  more importance to the language Kannada in education.

  I agree Hindi has pushed Kannada back.I dont want Tamil also to suffer the same situation so I always support anti-hindi agitation by Tamils.Kannadigas made a mistake in cosying upto Hindi.I agree born and brought up Tamils speak Kannada , but new immigrants don't get a chance to speak in Tamil as the local population does not speak to them in Kannada.Yesterday I went to see a doctor and my relative started speaking in Tamil with her even though she is against Tamils all the time.So what can the Tamils do really ? The same guys who are against Tamils speak in Tamil only with the Tamil guys.The doctor later turned out to be a Telugu !!!

  I get more respect from Northies than the tamils, and besides I know many mixed marriages between North and Kannadiga people, primarily Punjabi Speaking people, and they learn Kannada as we learn Punjabi and quite frankly who gives a damn what language people speak? If I marry a Northy, being male, I will learn her language that is why they say "Mother Tongue" if I know a Hindi Guy marrying a Kannadiga girl, I would suggest that the guy to learn Kannada.
  
  If North Indians dont respect Kannadiga people how to do explain the high success Kannadiga origin actors recieve, Shilpa Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Shamita Shetty, Aishwarya Rai etc?
  
  Infact I write Kannada in Devanagiri and not pali, Kannada is an Aryan (Indo European Language) and not dravidian which many History text books suggest unfortunately.

  But rarely does this happen Mr. Muski.I mean a Northy Guy marrying a kannadiga girl usually ends up making the girl speaking in hindi and she will do it voluntarily as well.
  
  Its worthwhile to point out there are as many actors and actresses of kannada origin in tamil if not more.All tamil top stars , top comedians and actresses are kannadigas but whatr espect do tamils have for kannadigas ?   Plus your take on kannada being Aryan is incorrect.Kannada has more tamil than sanskrit and mind you old kannada hardly has any sanskrit words and among the southern languages telugu is the most sanskritised.
  
  Plus devanagiri script is a relatively new one.The kannada script is one of the oldest and even tamils were using it , see the Cholan inscriptions in Indonesia and Singapore and Cambodia.It was then called as "vattezhuthu" , but now tamils no longer use they ridicule it as "jilebi" writing.
  
  Even northerners were using this old kannada script previously.

  Kannada has more Sanskrit words than Tamil or Telegu. Kannada is an Aryan Language that has adopted the Devanagiri Script. Devanagiri is simple, and a beutifull script and I think Karnataka should adopt that script instead of Pali.

  Let there be a promotion of Kannada and make its people proud of thier language.
  
  I am a Tamil, but, My intentions is to promote cultural and traditional instincts. Ay old indian language should not be lost for anything else.
  
  As far of Kaveri is concerned. Tamils and even Kannadigas needs to live and run thier leaving.
  All we need now is a very good rain that can fill Karnataka, more than sufficient and sufficient enough to feed Tamils.
