Hi everybody!
I am from Kanyakumari Dist.Kanyakumari dist is top in literacy rate in TN.It is one of the dist having best natural resources in TN.It is the land of greats like Kalaivaanar NSK,Kavi Mani Thesiga Vinayagam Pillai and Jeeva.
Every body knows during formation of states after freedom ,Kanyakumari had been given to Kerala,as it was once a part of Trivancore Samasthanam.Then after a great struggle by Kanyakumari Dist people in 50s it rejoined to Tamil Nadu.Nesamani is the leader of that struggle ,thus he is called as 'Father of Kanyakumari Dist'..

Can somebody give me some more details about this struggle for joining with the mother state..

  Why not add Kerala itself to this list? It is also part of the "mother state", isn't that so?

  Hi friends of Kanyakumari disrict. It is nice to hear from Mr Mani that why not add kerala to "mother land or state" The question is which is Mother State? Is it India, Tamil Nadu or Kerala. Who are sons ofsoil? There are many questions. Instead of adding or subtracting from one to one, why not all LIVE TOGETHER AS ONE SOCIETY WITH LOVE, FREEDOM, COOPERATION, COORDINATION, AND SPIRITUAL LIFE AS GIVEN BY THE SCRIPTURES FROM KANYAKUMARI and other parts of this Holy country in this Planet Earth. You know Mr Mani, your country India or Bharat IS THE RICHEST COUNTRY OR SUB CONTINENT IN THIS PLANET EARTH FOR THIS COUNTRY AND THE SONS OF THE SOILS only gave to the world many things. Let everyone think of themselves to improve themselves, keep the state and country clean and tidy of any corruption, keep the roads clean, avoid imitation of the other members of the planet earth, for the Lord has given sufficient for the country men to survive nicely and peacefully in India without borrowing any money from others. If each and everyone think to live and let live, then it is sure that as per scriptures your country can give life to many people and there will be no POOR PEOPLE IN INDIA AND NO ONE SAY INDIA A POOR COUNTRY.
  
  Kindly as a Kanyakumarian endeavour to educate the people in your vicinity to be tidy and clean and live with whatevr the Lord has given.

  I would also like to add to this the quality of giving back to the society that nurtured us. How many of us give back to the country/state/town/village that nurtured us? Most of us get educated and move on to distant cities/countries forgeting to remember that once we stood on the shoulders of the poor to climb wherever we are today. Understand that the struggle to join with Tamilagam is not just apolitical activity of few politicians or mere a linguo moment. It has to be understood in a socio-political necessity. If U want to know more about this struggle please read the following books first: 1)Nesamoni oru charithira thiruppam by A A.Rasaac and 2) Kumari mavattam pirantha varalaaru by Pachaimal, both in Tamil.

  Read the book, "Thamizhan Izhantha MaNn" by Thiru Pazha Nedumaaran. The Kaniyakumari people were called as, "nAnjil makkaL," Kaniyakumari maKkal suffered alot more than other part of Thamizh Nadu according to what Thiru Pazha Nedumaaran book says. They are patriotic Thamizhars. Other parts tried to join with TN but lack of Political efforts by Thamizhans and thinking as 'Indians' made a huge mistake such that we still aren't able to rejoin 'Kolar Thanga Vayal, [aka in English as Kolar Gold Field] and the Thulu[Kauvery Land] to the Kannadars and the Andhaman and Nicober Island (which's true name is NamakkavAram; which is also said in the same book). Many parts that belong to the Kerala State had majority of Thamizh Speaking people and in many places more than 80% but we lost them all. Atleast lets keep the land we have now.

  go read Thamizhan Izhantha MaNn by Thiru Pazha Nedumaaran. That book as enough references that you could look into see if thats true or not! I currently don't have that book, when I get access to it then I will list you the places.
