All times in EST +10:30 for IST.
I always wanted to ask this question. Except in for stage speeches and news telecast, tamil is spoken differently from the way it is written.Does any one care to share why this could be so?

Yes, but I could give u my personal answer to all.
Kings, priests and other important people in their community only learned all the written books. On the other hand, the poor and ordinary people never engage in studying these old books nor they allowed reading so many old scriptures. These people freedoms become worst when 'Aryen' came to spread their Sanskrit. After Aryan Era mostly many Kingdom sprang from different language. These kings mostly gave very important and revered the Brahmins. So many old books forgotten or even they didn’t know all those books existed in Tamil Nadu until the 20th Century. Some written books lost in the long struggled history and also, Tirukkural is not a complete book, which we have today.

This forum is already polluted so much like Tamilnadu open road toilets.
By the way cheran bharti and idiappma, what time you get up to shi*t on the road before it becomes brighter. i think at the end of streets of near temple walls. Keep up the culture you sambar farts.
AIDS victims. Hey you know what kondom is? learn to use it, so that tamilians loose their top list in HIV contribution to the world.

Because spoken tamil has changed over the years because its such an old language. Most of south indian languages evolved from tamil. up until 500 years ago, malayalam, and kannada were called tamil. But even though tamil has changed in speaking over the years it has maintained its written way because writer study written tamil in school and so on. I think, thats the reason, i'm not totally correct but its just an assumption. But it is true that kannada and malayalam was called tamil until about 500 years ago.

Now it is high time Tamil employs Devanagari script for proper phonetics and pronounciations.

It is high time you use your mouth for more constructive things (i.e - sh!tting, farting)

Hi cheran I asked you , which Temple street you shi*t in the morning at5.30 A.M.
Let us make it more dirty, by divine tamil chanting and farting synchronized together, probably we can use yamflifier so that the voice, and noice can be sent across the state for the Kannadas to hear and let them feel happy as they do not send cauvery water for you to wash your back.
I also feel Tamilians do not know how to use toilet paper. so it must be very bad scene such things going around in white loongis.

By the way the issue started with devanagari script for Tamil language, so that Tamilians don't speak broken phonetics like ije gream and gadbhadi (katpadi). We Tamilians need to change at one stage. As many of us do have right speech problem.

It is high time we use our mouth for more constructive things (i.e - sh!tting, farting), and all our Tamil speaking must follow the same gusbuism and rajinism.

It is good thing that now Tamilians are learning to use toilet. Even Tamilnadu govt is improving on toilet construction which will be alldirectly connected to cauvery pipe line.
In another 20 years we will all see clean and disciplined roads in Tamilnadu. Slums will be distance dream. We will rule the world after learning toilet etiquettes. Our education system will evolve diploma or post graduation (advanced) in toilet using.

It will be the golden day when all Tamilians will learn using toilets. And tourists will have to look for temple whereabouts in different style say a proper sign board or road map.
At present it is easy to recognise a temple after seeing a wall next to shi*tty lane and line.

See because tamil is such an old launguage that the writen version has not changed much, but ppl speaking has changed over the years, so thats why tamil is different in speaking than written.
