Reliability of Bhagawatam

I have read parts of the bhagawatam, a Purana associating with Vishnu. I have no arguement about Krishna, a historical character in the Mahabharata and God in incarnation ( But not his total manifestation). But the Bhagawat Purana tampers history with legends about Krishna killing monsters and stuffs.

Also, the dating of the yugas, I find, are inaccurate. Civilisation could not have occured in the Treta Yuga for that's like millions of years ago ! The cosmic planets are arranged vertically and not in their own orbits. There are hells for practically ever wrong we do.

Now, the question would be, who wrote the Bhagawatam? How did he know about all this? If he's wrong in those I've mentioned above, then ,is he right about Kali yugam and the Kalki avatar?

I am not an atheist but in fact, a devout Shaivate so, I do not want comments about Hinduism being false.

To the Makkus and idiots, STAY OUT !!!!
