And anyway while karnataka produced great patriots like Gen.Cariappa and Gen.Thimmaya ,Kerala produced one Krishna Menon who was known to throw files in the faces of army officers , during chinese war he changed the rifle factory in icchapore into coffee making factory and weakened Indian forces. So you ppl should not talk about patriotism.
As far as Abdul Hamid is concerned no need to gaga over him hindus also have brave patriots. Also do you know was he a pure muslim ?Most muslims in India have dual hindu-muslim identities and would prefer to be known as hindus in case of conflict and only you muslim bootlickers spoil them and make them fully muslim.Abdul Hamid was one such hindu-muslim who loved his motherland.A pure muslim cannot love his motherland. He is prohibited from doing so.Ask Ashraf if you have any doubts. If not for ppl like you there would be many more Abdul Hamids.

Harish,
I am being forced into a personal arguement with you. I pointed out that none of US are patriotic enough to risk our lives. If you lived out what you preach, you would have had a Lt. or Capt. or some sort of prefix like that to your name; which you do not have! So much for pusedo-patriotism from all of us!
I never defended the muslim terrorists and I agree 100% that the guilty should (and must) be punished, but does it mean that an enitre community which may have innocent women and children too must be punished? I had a couple of bad experiences with Muslims, and also good ones. Does it mean because I had bad expereinces with some of them, all of them are bad? Is attacking a few defenseless women and children bravery? And if the gulity should be punished, does it not include the gulity from all relegions including us, christians, sikhs, and buddhists? What about the hate propoganda of certain people which constitues the spark that sets alight the blaze? Shouldn't they be punished as well? Having said that, if anyone lives in India and keeps on propagating anti-national activites, I see no reason why they continue to live here. If anyone is an Indian citizen, then their loyality should be towards the motherland! Kerala too had a lot of trouble with the Maapilas of North Malabar (Maapila riots) but that has fizzled out once the community started to get employment and education. I firmly believe that once the whole of our country is educated, then we will have no more trouble.. which is something that our politicians do not want!
I never read that quote from idiappam, but find the reported speech quite interesting. From the name, he/she too is a malayalee. Namaskaaram idiappam, sughamanoo? i have read parts of the manusmriti, and felt that it was 100 % pro brahmin.. even said that the sudras must not accumulate wealth because the priests might become envious. Manu has the right to write what he believed in and anyone who want to accept it has the right to do so. It is fair. But ofcourse if anyone wants to impose it on me then I will not allow it. Neither will I follow it or allow it to be imposed on an unwilling society. Same thing for the Koran. I have read parts of the translated version of the Koran and the Bible and have not seen much obecjtionable stuff there. And if someone wants to live according to the Koran in such a way that it does not affect anyone else, he/she has every right to do so. But if they impose it on me, then I will rebel.
You had claimed that Kerala has not produced any patriots unlike Karnataka. I could also engage in mud slinging, but I will not sink that that level. Just because one kannadiga is a narrow-minded relegious fanatic (is there any reason for me to think otherwise?), it does not mean that all of the kannadigas are so. After all we all are Indians, not malayalee or tamilian or kannadiga. But to disprove your point I have to quote a few names: Pazahzzi raja, Paliath Achan, Velu Thambi all were gallant sons of Kerala who had fought against the British. Swadeshabimani Ramakrishna Pillai, Chempakraman Pillai, Barrister G.P. Pillai, E.J. John, T.K. Madhavan, A.K. Pillai, Achutha Menon, N.V. Joseph, E. Ikkanda Warier, Dr. A.R. Menon, T.M. Varghese, K. Balakrishna Menon, C. Kesavan, Pramabil Lonappan, Pattom A. Thanu Pillai, T.K. Narayana Pillai, Vakkam Abdul Khadir Maulavi, etc etc etc were all patriots from Kerala. So malayalees have the right to talk about patriotism as much if not more than anyone else.
Ofcourse we have brave Hindu patriots in the history, but I had pointed out the name of Sahid Abdul Hamid to disprove to you that all muslims are non patriotic.
I find the last part of your second message most interesting.
>Most muslims in India have dual >hindu-muslim identities and would prefer to >be known as hindus in case of conflict
Your wisdom, Harish, has rolled the shrouds of darkness from before my eyes. I too have reached enlightenment . So most muslims have hindu-muslim identities? Then why did VHP pull down the Babri Masjid? It was after all a place of worship erected by a hindu Babar (who, it seems, was a hindu like us according to your arguement.. if Abdul Hamid was one, then obviously Babar too was one) and it was no mosque, but a temple with a minaret :) . Then why did the VHP destroy it? Then our list of Hindus grows much bigger with Aurangazeb, Ghazni, Gohri, Jinnah etc. Am I not right? After all, I just followed your arguement that most muslims are "hindu-msulims". Or do you posses a special ability to discern who all are "hind-muslims" and who all are "only muslims"? I wonder which relegious books do the "hind-muslims" follow? :) Please write something that makes sense instead of quoting a leaf of nonsense from the RSS handbook!

To which fisher caste Weeramani belongs to?
There are lot of fisher communities in T.N.
Karawa[Pattanavika] of Velupillai Prabhakaran is one such grouping.
