What was the Last Ilaiyaraja song you listened to? - Part 2.
Continued from Part 1
The same idea as it is in the other existing sections. Hubbers please quote the last Ilaiyaraaja song that they have listened. Let's continue to discuss and enjoy Raaja sir's songs in the future and let this place be a frontal point of this section. A big to all the contributors from the 1st thread. Expecting more in the future and also awaiting new hubbers in this place .
The last song I listened was as part of the Erotica discussion is Maasi Masam aalana ponnu from Dharma durai.

Usha,
I was also listening to the same song yesterday. Infact I was listening to the songs from 'Madhiya Chennai' and 'Kannukulle'. I have to agree that the singer selection in some of the songs is probably not the best. The female singer in this song has no clue about Tamil and when she sings the 'viLakuvadhu viLakallavA' line it is sheer chaos!! Inspite of that, this is an excellent tune. So is 'Puthu Pournami'. Two superb numbers.

The last IR song i listened to is a very rare telugu song. It is from an obscure telugu film called "Pattudhala". And the song is "Eppudoo Oppukovaddhu Ra Otami", a song sung by Yesudas and brilliantly written by Sirivennela Seetharama Sasthry.
Ilaiyaraaja did a terrific job in this song. I think this song/film came in 1989-90-91 period. The sound of the song (guitar sound, strings sound, etc) is little closer to the ones in Nirnayam.

raagas,
Thanks for the song. Never heard this before and never knew such a movie existed!! Any idea about the star cast and if it was a dubbed movie or not? Sirivennela does a nice job as usual.
Someone was playing 'Eeramana Rojave' in my house and I laughed out loud thinking of app_eng when the words 'thaneeril muzhgadu..' came up
