Manam Kanindtharul Vel Muruha &
Taku Taku Takunnu from Veerpandiya Kattapoman. Both are very good songs. The first one is a real mood soothing song.

Superb song by Varalakshmi, P.Susheela and AP Komala from Veera Pandiya Katta Bomman. The song starts with "Takku takku takkeenu dikkumadikkum..". One will find it very difficult to pronounce the words. It was wonderful.
Another number by SV was "UmayavaLe mariyamma" from "Ananda Bairavi" acted by Ravichadran, K R Vijaya and Jaya Devi. This film was acted by RC and KRV after they started again with some trimming of their bodies. But it was a failure. SV's song was very insgnificant in that movie but it was very well rendered by her.
BTW, why suddenly there is a discussion on
S Varalakshmi?

Thanks Vj for the clarification. Naan ennavo edho-nnu bayandhutten...
Yes she is a very good actress (Poova Thalaya is the best for her) and she is a good singer too.
You know, she trained / helped Jayalalitha when JJ was to sing song in Krishna leela (directed by AP Nagarajan). JJ acted as Bhama, Srividhya as Rukmini and Sivakumar as Krishna. The song I don't remember. This bit of news was highlighted by JJ herself in an interview.
Hats-off to S. Varalakshmi

Neel D -
Thanks for the link. For some reason my tamizh font (kumudham and others) is not loading again. I am a bit miffed about this constant acting up. But I will download the font and install it again - Varalakshmi's thoughts are more important than this small inconvenience. I look forward to reading the interview this weekend.

Neel- thanks for the link. She seems to have undergone a lot of distress (physical and emotional). Poor lady! Add to that, I remember hearing somewhere that her son is slightly retarded. I pray that things become better for her soon.
