Really liked the film..Light, fun, touching and most importantly it makes you feel good when you leave the theatre..Mani is 'at home' when it comes to romance and dialogues..both Dulquer and nithya were superb and prakash raj and leela samson were equally awesome too..OKK cant be compared to Alaipayuthey as both are different..PC is as usual superb only when he works with Mani..i guess all cinematographers should thank MAni for their work..I think its Mani whos guiding all the cinematographers..ARR's bgm not that impressive except for the climax..songs were superrr..
watching again today..happy for mani saar..
why the hell the movie was rated 18+?
Thanx mahen..

Mani is at complete ease doing a upper middle class urban love story. He did it in Mouna Raagam (1986), Alaipayuthey (2000) and now repeats it in O Kadhal Kanmani (2015). Though the teaser and trailer reminded me of Alaipayuthey, Mani made it clear that he wanted the audience to expect a similar platform and nothing more. Except being two films dealing with relationships and having the same technical crew, the films share nothing.
OKK is about the relationship between two commitment phobic individuals Aadhi and Tara who hate marriage because of different reasons. The performances of the leads are a scream and Nithya stands out of the two. They both carry the film on their shoulders and are ably supported by Prakashraj and Leela Samson. Most scenes involve only these four but not a single moment you are bored. They make you laugh, cry and fall in love.
When Mani is in his elements, it becomes easy for his technical team to do the formalities. ARR and PC Sreeram have ensured that they hit the bull's eye to make the film a complete one. The score is grand and the visuals are out of the world. Not many times you see the crowd waiting after the movie is over to listen to the song which is played during the end credits. It happened yesterday when people were still on the seats listening to Mental Manadhil. What more do you need as a Rahmaniac? And like any Mani film, there are no extravagant foreign locales. But Mumbai is made to look like one.
The movie has some glitches like the 'buddies' who were annoying, at least for me. Also the dialogue delivery of both the leads could've been slightly better. For all the effort they've put in their acting and being natural, they could've concentrated with their dubbing too. Some good dialogues sounded artificial because of their non Tamil background.
After very ordinary outings with Raavanan and Kadal, Mani is back to what he does best. Hope he sticks to it and makes many more such wonderful movies. Its all we need as his fans.
#OKKanmani is #CSK playing its game in Chepauk. You will more often than not come out of the stadium laughing.
