Did you see something cool on other forums, or thought of a novel feature that you would love to have on The Hub? Post them here.
No promises to implement them all immediately :smile2: but will definitely keep in mind during future upgrades..

Avatar's current dimensions are ok with me, but the image filesize for Avatar can be increased to 10 kb.
Images can be allowed to be posted in topics, and the Moderator can delete the pic ( only ) after some days, so that pages do not take long to download.
I agree with ramky. my point of contention is image size rather than its dimension, which is ok for me. the file size of 6kb is very small. indha animated picturea poda naan patta kashtam enakku thaan theriyum :P
I am still averse to posting of images. already each page in our forum is arnd 60 to 80 kb which is significant for a webpage. if everyone starts posting images in each of the 15 posts per page :skull: :lol:
some forums have different themes ..each hubber can have the theme they want to have ....... i think it is forums in the www.theforumhub.com ..... not www.forumhub.com .....
Please add on a Tamil keyboard to the reply window so that anyone can type in Tamil without having to download or install Tamil fonts. All they do is click reply, type the Tamil text from the proposed keayboard, click submit and voila! The Tamil text appears on the screen. ;)
Hi skanthan, I check out http://www.forumhub.com/tamil/. I usually type here and copy-paste tamil message onto my posts. It works without having to install anything.
I think it would work better for me if the proposed Tamil keyboard were to be added to the message body! I do not know how to cut and paste!

To all those requesting smileys/emoticons: it will help if you can give pointers to sites where I can get them.
RR, I would like to have the liteview as a full fledged feature. Right now it is only one way, you can only go from liteview to full view and not the other way around. Or else, one has to edit the URL to viewlite.php which is not convenient.
And the liteview doesnt have all the features also. There are no "next page links", not all the posts are visible. So, we cant navigate within liteview :)
I find liteview very useful, faster load times, smaller page size (there are some with DL limits here :) )

Dear RR, I have a suggestion about the magazine. How about publishing the Hub Magazine's tamil articles in Unicode ?
Some of us use common terminals (office terminals) where we cannot download Tamil fonts. I currently use Suratha reader to translate the TSC articles into Unicode. This is ok for short posts but it is rather painful for long articles. In fact this is my (lame) excuse on falling back with some of the more interesting series that are coming out in the Hub Magazine and one my New Year resolutions is to get to up to date with them :-)
When the writers submit their articles to you they can use the converter to convert it to Unicode. This makes it universally readable and with the forumhub Unicode typepad one can respond readily. Or is it is conscious Hub policy discourage folks from Hubbing at work :P
It would be nice if we could post Pics in the Tamil Film's Section atleast, if it is abused too much then we can always have it taken off also. :D
This is not a burning need, but it would be nice if you installed an RSS mod for ohpBB. It'd let some of the more addicted of us keep track of favourite topics in a much better way than the "watch" feature does, because we'd also see what's being posted.
Here's a comparison of the main mods. RSS Feed 2.2.4 with some of the mini mods suggested on that site (especially Autodiscover Plus) sounds good.

TheTamil typepad you introduced was a few months was great. I kind of got rit of the copy-paste mode. The one issue there is, the space where the roman letters are typed and the Tamil letters appears are different. To that extent there is a difference.
Can we explore something like the Google transliterator. This has drawn me back to the copy-paste mode.
btw I do have the Mozilla add-on thamizh visai. But on some computers the Tamil letters are all broken up.

If it is not possible to have a drop down list to navigate through 100 pages of a thread, let us atleast have 10 posts per page.
a) pages will be shorter and quicker to download
b) we need not memorize 15 tables to navigate to a particular page :mrgreen: Navigating by URL will become much simpler :)
