Shocker!!! Everyone here accept your views...except for the last sentence of yours....Quote:

Suddenly we find a refreshing album with so many international genres with too much experimentation and with too many layers....Sometimes classy albums like this doesn't reach the B and C audiences who seem to enjoy the old ARR style(HJ's present style)...
Anyways...its a great album..Repeated hearings are making these songs very addictive....
Hi I did not really draw a link between being musically minded and accepting the album, I was trying to say that you will be able to understand and enjoy it more. Accepting the album, I meant when people say it is right or wrong, they judge it based on something like whether it is too dancey or too repetitive or too 'western' in this case.Quote:

I agree as you said in your first sentence, each to their own taste, however I am sure majority will say that the melodies here are mind blowing! Every single song has some sections that take you to a higher place! What more can you ask of a composer! Usually having this sort of section in the whole album is a great success for a composer but AR has done it in nearly every song in my opinion.
Maybe I was harsh with the last sentence, but this close mindedness really annoys me. You are right, this album is very classy, however all AR albums have this sophistication, whether it be in recording technique or genre. If you want ARR's old style listen to his old albums, he is an artist do not expect his music not to progress and evolve continuously. We as the audience following his music should also evolve and expand our taste!Quote:

Also I'll take this chance to mention that the vocalists are superb!! Can you expect anything else from Karthik and Naresh!! Alphonse really surprised me, this is a song that I had to be patient with to understand, I really like it now.
i still think the melodies of the songs(main tunes) are good enough to reach people inspite of its layers......but yea, "this is not as good as VA" madhiri arguements ellam varum :(
with every international exposure, thalaivar sounds change :? we saw a world of change after bombay dreams, now this (after couple's retreat)......
