Will Balki finally let IR render originals? I understand he wants to introduce IR classics to Hindi audience but I frankly haven't seen much interest for Cheeni Kum or Pa songs on the radio. His movies are more 'multiplex' oriented and not youth centric so he might as well give IR fans the pleasure of listening to new compositions.
one has got to be a kind of an artistic/aesthetic sadist NOT to insist on fresh/new tunes/music from IR!
Balki maybe his great fan, but a gyaana soonyam as far as using his talent/genius

Thanks Krish! The songs have the expected rustic flavour but there are three surprises in the soundtrack.
Ippadiyum oruthan ondu's rhythm is very catchy and different from the usual style thalaivar employs for folk songs.
Thedi ennai kaanave has a very strong "lost-my-love" feel all over it. He has done many variations of these type of songs but the tune together with intentional usage of minimal instrumentation and the harp gives the song such a strong edge.
Vanathil is what you call heaven-in-a-song. The usage of harp and piano is so divine here that you instantly feel the bliss. The lyrics and situation indicate a blissful relationship which is pure and the instruments and melody exemplify it to a T.
The usage of harp in most of the songs and the general feel indicates that this movie has a deep focus on "pure" relationships. Looks promising!
A request - Could someone who resides outside India please let me know how to buy "Oru Oorla" and "Thalaimuraigal" songs? I acquired Megha and other recent albums from iTunes and amazon digital, but no such luck with these albums. Thanks in advance.
