Reg. Batman begins. It's a change of style for Nolan to a more darker Frank miller-style, than kidding itself like Burton's, or the utterly "gutters"-like pathetic adaptations by Schumacher. Burton of course had his idiosyncratic look at his characters, and Gotham city (which is also true with his Planet of the apes remake). But I prefer the no-kidding Nolan fare. Picture this? Or, simply take a look at Nolan's Joker (The dark knight trailer) against the incredible Jack in Burton's BB! The eccentricity and his presentation varies. Moreover, I'm much looking forward to Nolan brothers' script..
To put it simply, Nolan and Bale have revived the franchise all by themselves, with Nolan's own vision surpassing the comic's, which is a good thing. Besides, his Batman (Baleman or Bateman :P ) is the most human, dark, and real so far..
