prasanth,
'Maragatha Veenai' is a terrific album. I like all the songs in this album. I think this album has 'ennai nee azhaikade" song as well.

Nenjil Aadum Poo Onru
Heard that this early movie (1978?) of IR was not released but I remember songs were famous. மனசில் அழுத்தமாய் பதிந்த பாடல்கள் ஏன் எதுக்கு எப்படினே புரியாம. Few days before venkiram posted Oru Moodan Kathai sonnan song and Now I checked other songs. முத்தெடுத்தேன் :).
கோடி இன்பம் மேனி எங்கும் பாய்ந்ததம்மா - I can not describe this song better than the first line. I am just addicted to this song and its elements rthym, ludes (esp the second interlude :notworthy:), vocals (SPB, SJ). I think I am listening this song after 20-25 years  8-)
Intha maathiri ethanai irukko anubavikkama
Sanjeevi,
'Kodi Indbam' is an excellent song. (To some extent the starting part and the ragam remind me of the Hindi song 'ja re ja o harjai' from the movie 'Kalicharan'. Music: Kalyanji Anandji.) Raja takes this song to unknown levels. Amazing.
It is a classic composition. One of my favourites. Long time since i Listened to this one. I discovered this song 4 years ago and i remember listening to it continuously in loop, for about 3-4 hours. What a song! Ah! if only Ilaiyaraaja does songs like these too sometimes now-a-days.Quote:

Listening to one more album I ignored when it came out. 'Nilave Mugam Kaatu'. Loving 'sutrada bhoomi'. These sort of emotions are only possible by Raja. Of that I am sure. Enjoying the other songs, 'chitu parakudu', 'poonkatru' and 'thndralai kandu' as well.

"Nenjil aadum poo" kind of albums used to be a regular, routine fare for Raja those days. Today if we look back, we can say for sure that TFM was at its zenith of creativity and innovation without being jarring or trying "too hard" to sound different .Usha, "Vaanam enge" IMO is the best of them. "kODI iNBAM" , is in "Malayamarutham" , a beautiful raaga for the dawn . Raja has creatively woven the dialogue between violin and flute and its a timeless album indeed. Even "marudha manja kizhangu" is naughty and cute. Please find a discussion on the song of the day , years ago.
