Roti jala was originally made by using the fingers to drip the batter over the pan.
You can also use a can by pricking several large holes in it.
Or you can have mine. Its about 1 buck each. :P
o m g....kungan nga.....yr vendi paal kuzhambu turned out very well.....dish is wiped clean here :mrgreen: i also made tapioca puttu...;-) It was good but i liked yr regular rice puttu more... :mrgreen: Thank u for another super recipe...sure for keeps...;-)

Actually I was also thinking, what paal kulambu from a hotel,
when my cousin ordered it. It was super in taste.
Suvai, rice puttu always comes top. This tapioca, just to have the taste of it only.
I will be posting simple dishes that were made for daily cooking in my aunts house. Simple, but taste was abaaram.

I am posting the Chinese style fried rice and gobi manchurian that I had in the hotel. Enjoy Suvai, Kugan98
HOTEL STYLE VEGETABLE FRIED RICE
Ingredients:
1 cup basmati rice
100 grms cabbage cut into squares
100 grms carrot cut into cubes
100 grms capsicum cut intp squares
100 grms beans cut small
100 grms onions chopped
100 spring onion cut into lengths
8 pips garlic chopped fine
½ inch ginger chopped fine
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper powder
½ tsp sugar
Little aji no motto
Little vinegar or lime juice
1 tbs oil
Method:
Cook the basmati rice with little salt till ¾ cooked.
Drain and keep aside to cool.
Heat oil in a wok, add in the chopped onions.
Sauté until ¾ fried , add in cabbage, carrot, capsicum,
beans, spring onion, ginger and garlic.
Fry till all the veges are ¾ cooked. No water is added.
Now add in the rice , stir slowly so that the rice is not broken.
Sim the fire, add in the salt, pepper powder, sugar,
aji no motto and vinegar or lime juice.
Taste for salt , stir the rice slowly so that the veges are
spread out evenly. Remove and serve with cauliflower manchurian.
For non vegetarians, you can serve with chillie prawns, or chillie chicken.
NOTE: No soy sauce is used in this fried rice.

CAULIFLOWER MANCHURIAN
Ingredients:
300 grms of cauliflower florets
(A)
2 tbs of plain flour
4 tbs corn flour
2 tbs rice flour
1 tsp soy sauce
Little sugar
A pinch of aji no motto
Little pepper powder
Little salt
Little vinegar
Little edible orange colour
(B)
1 tsp oil
150 grms onion chopped
10 pips garlic chopped
100 grms capsicum chopped
Little ginger chopped
Little spring onion leaf chopped
1 tsp pepper powder
½ tsp sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp tomato sauce
2 tsp chillie sauce
Method:
Cut and clean the cauliflower florets.
Put them in a big bowl, add in all the (A) ingredients.
Just sprinkle little water, and mix every thing well.
The mixture should not be watery.
The flour should coat the cauliflower well.
Heat a wok with oil and deep fry the cauliflower florets.
Now heat a wok with 1 tsp oil, add in the onions, ginger, garlic,
and capsicum. Stir fry for a minute.
Add in the fried cauliflower florets, mix well.
Add in pepper powder, sugar, soy sauce, tomato sauce
and the chillie sauce. Give a good stir.
Now add 1 tbs of corn flour in ½ cup of water.
Raise the heat, pour over the Manchurian.
Give one good stir, garnish with the spring onion and remove.
Serve with hotel style fried rice.
