Some good parts year and there but overall it was more show than substance.
The first half was awesome and I thought something phenomenal was going to happen in the climax but the way it ended was awful.Quote:

Dev D (DVD + home theater) - Liked Leny better than Paro this time. Half the nation got *** on that clip and they call ME a sl** Dev imagining Chanda getting sc***** with aankhOn ka hai dhOka aisa tErA pyAr playing with an echo effect in the background - a major goosebump moment. And got blown away by the music one more time. Each and every note was God awesome.
Btw when will this multiplex strike thingi end? No indhi films for the past 3 months.

None of the characters go overboard and for all the despair Dutt's character comes to represent, he is careful not to capitalise on it. Johnny Walker's role and a couple of songs aside, the movie manages to keep to the plot with admirable determination, so much so that the running time is something like 2 hours! I loved Khagaz ke phool and Sahib, Bibi aur Ghulam was quite interesting, but Pyaasa trumps them both hands down!! It has been said often, but what the heck - the man was much ahead of his times.
