Watch children display their oratorical skills in Tamil on Vijay TV from this Sunday
After the success of the first hunt for the best Tamil orator in ‘Thamizh Pechu Engal Moochu’, Vijay TV has launched the junior edition of the show, Thamizh Pechu Engal Moochu Chuttigal.
‘Thamizh Pechu Engal Moochu Chuttigal’ is a platform for children in the 8 to 15 age group (Classes 4-10) to showcase their love for the language. Auditions were held in various cities such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Salem and Tiruchi where over 350 children participated. Renowned Tamil scholars such as Subha Veerapandiyan, Parveen Sultana, Salma, Lena Thamizhvanan and Vijayan (winner of Thamizh Pechu Engal Moochu title) were the judges.
Over 160 children were selected from six zones. For the finals, 50 among them were chosen. The contestants were asked to talk on topics such as ‘Vannathupoochi’, ‘Kadamai’, ‘Nambikai’, ‘Iyarkai’, ‘Thooimai’ and ‘Nanneri’ for three minutes. They were judged on the basis of their presentation skill, stage presence, speaking skill, creativity and general knowledge.
The competition will reach an interesting stage as the 50 finalists have tough rounds ahead. These budding orators will be seen exhibiting their oratorical skills from March 29, every Sunday at 9 a.m. on Vijay TV.
