I meant both NE and mid west. my bad...I am not sure about the big releases though....I feel they are definitely not on par with TX or CA...At the end of the day I guess it's all down to logistics.....
10AM Cinepolis Bangalore! :)
After a long time, aandavar movie is having a proper, un-interrupted and huge pre-release hype. Wide release, shows getting booked few mins after opening the counter, premier shows...Evvalavu naal aachu! Nenacha Pullarikkudhu!
the best thing is .. people know that this is a 2.52 hours long class movie, with kamal playing his age .. they know its going to be emotional .. right expectations are set here .. but namma makkal polambittu irunthaanga ..
still, kanchana2 is goin rock solid and in its 3rd week it will roughly give a 70% share to theatre owners .. but the new release uttama villain will give only 40% or less .. thats the problem here.. theatre guys can simply carry on minting money with kanchana2 without any additional investment that they have to put on UV .. and EROS' recent track record is a well known mega disaster .. but for these reasons, our theatre list would have been terrific like Vishwaroopam across TN .. now also, its very good for a medium budget class movie ..
And not being a big budget movie, if UV can manage double ROI, I'd call that a success. Nowhere I expect it to make Vishwaroopam level of collection or even Dasa for that matter.
I think it is being too paranoid to worry about Kanchana 2 etc. If that is really the case, this movie doesn't deserve the publicity. One can trust KH to have a better clout than K2.
The real challenge is from the likes of Avengers (releasing in the US now), OKK (carrying over strongly) and even Gabbar (Ramana remake). In the local theaters, they have announced timings and screens for Gabbar and still no news on UV. Very few screens/theaters left that host Tamil movies after K2, Gabbar and OKK having taken up the bunch of them.
pushpak....did u get insider info abt UV. confident ah irukingale
