AFTER TMT, PRIYAMANAVALEY AND GHILLI NOW VIJAY'S THUPPAKKI GOES TO BENGALI

Actor Jeet who is known for many of his blockbuster Bengali films is currently remaking Vijay's blockbuster film Thuppakki. Jeet made his Bengali debut with Vijay's Thullatha Manamum Thullum remake and he also remade many Tamil films like Ghilli, Priyamanavaley, Singam, Paiyaa, Unnai Thedi and many. Among them Ghilli and Priyamanavaley were remake of Telugu super hits Okkadu and Pavitra Bandham respectievely.

The Bengali version of Thuppakki has been titled as Game and it will be produced by Reliance Big Entertainments and Grass Root Entertainments. Mean time Vijay has kick started his new film with AR Murugadoss in Kolkata and the team will complete a 10 days schedule there.

"I was completely helpless during the Thalaivaa controversy and the day the film was forcibly postponed after announcing the release schedule was the darkest day in my life" this is what Vijay had to say when he was asked about the delay in release of his latest film. The Vijay quoted here is the director of the film starring actor Vijay and Amala paul in the lead roles.

It is worth recollecting that Thalaiva was supposed to release on August 9, 2013, but the film's release was postponed in Tamilnadu alone due to the handiwork of some miscreants. Later on the issue turned to take a political color and finally the film managed to release in Tamilnadu only a fortnight later when the pirated version of the film was flooded in the market. The film eventually ended as a commercial failure.

Director Vijay also recalled that his hero in the film Vijay expressed his regret over the incident. Kollywood insiders say that the actor gave back a part of his salary as a compensation for the losses suffered by the owners of Mishri Productions who produced the film. If that is true, Vijay can be considered as the only actor after Superstar Rajnikanth to have paid back his producers to cover up the losses. The Superstar did the same in the case of the film Baba which failed at the box office.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay, one of the current gen actors who has a huge fan presence in the social media space such as Facebook and Twitter, recently visited the Facebook office situated in Hyderabad to attend an Annual Celebrity Meet. This meet occurred on 7th February and Vijay's presence at this celebrity meet has lent credence to rumors that Vijay will soon be launching his official page on Facebook.

During the shooting of Minsara Kanna, the famous song from Padaiyappa I decided "Minsara Kanna" will be the title of my next fiml with Vijay‬. I asked Rajini sir's permission as the song was picturized on him, he happily agreed and said that it was a perfect and apt title for Vijay's film. This picture was taken at "Minsara Kanna" movie muhurtam, Super Star Rajini graced the occasion. What an encouraging man!

it is not too bad a film...... konjam tinkering (in the screenplay) pannirukkalam........ plus the heroine's (not rambha..she is not the heroine) acting was not good at all........ and characterization of khushboo could have been better....... and finally the sentimental factor... could have been better

saw the trailer,but i didnt feel great while watching this trailer..because in tamil vijay had done a great job for this movie,presence of dialogues,bodylanguage,style,mannerism...but hindi i dont think akshay done better than vijay...vijay on its peak...even though when vijay says shoot its powerfull dialogue and look...but in hindi its just like simple...vijaymania rules

21 years, almost moves seamlessly from one movie to the other. No unwarranted breaks or breakdowns in between. No needless experiments. Just wakes up everyday and does the simple things right.

Consistency is his forte. Ecstasy or Agony, Winning or Losing, he remains the same. No wonder he looks so fresh and fit.

So he is in Chennai for V57 the last few days and hence he has squeezed his time to attend TR's daugther's marriage then another marriage on the same day, Balu Sir's funeral before going to Anna University yesterday. Yet doesn't carry heavy eyes or looks tired. Amazing, seriously.

He is fast moving from just being a favorite hero to being a role model. Simple, Unassuming, Humble, Consistent and more importantly, is successful and stays right at the top.

The fact that he always has line of sight about his future 2 movies (at least) and directors, apart from managing and squeezing time for all these events...is just worth appreciating. Being a corporate professional myself, I really wish I could imbibe some of these qualities and values from him. The other quality I admire about him is his ability to keep mum about all the crap that gets spoken about him...(we see a few examples here in the hub from some). He just goes on doing his job. I think he knows his strengths and limitations. ..and also realises that he is way above all these silly critics. In our country, when few people can ridicule an idol and role model like Sachin, I don't think anyone can be spared... :-).

SASIKUMAR CONFIRMS VIJAY'S PROJECT

Few months before we had reported you that Sasikumar and Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay will be joining by 2015, now the latest is that the director himself recently confirmed that the talks are on and they will be working together once they complete the films which they have already committed.

Sasikumar will be soon acting in Bala's project with Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and the shooting is all set to start in month of March. Vijay on the other hand has started shooting for his untitled project with AR Murugadoss which is expected to be wrapped up in the month of August and then Vijay will be acting in director Chimbudevan's project.

It is also said that Vijay is in talks with director Atlee and Suseenthiran, so by 2015 we will have a clear picture on Vijay- Sasikumar project.

Former Miss World to pair up with Vijay?

Former Miss World to pair up with Vijay?

It is worth remembering that Priyanka Chopra, who is one of the leading heroines in Bollywood and a famous face across India and many other countries made her silver screen debut with the film Tamizhan with actor Vijay. Now we hear that the former Miss World is likely pair up with Vijay again for the star's upcoming film with director Chimbudevan.

The audio launch of Maan Karate was held at the Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai this morning, and director Shankar was the chief guest at the launch. A.R.Murugadoss, who is in charge of the story and is also co-producing the movie, was also present at the launch.
All the speakers were profuse in their praise of composer Anirudh and lead hero Siva Karthikeyan. Shankar went on to add that Thuppakki is his favorite movie, expressing his admiration for A.R.Murugadoss' skills as a writer. Shankar also admitted that he is an Anirudh fan and that Siva Karthikeyan will join the list of top tier heroes very soon.
Murugadoss also had good words for Anirudh and said that he had delivered his best for their current film with Vijay, which is under production.

Vijay is the Super-Duper King of Box-Office, the next Superstar?

Chennai,Sep 14 (TruthDive): Vijay, the mass entertaining Ilayathalapathy appears to be emerging as the Super-Duper King of Box-Office.

Media reports state that satellite rights of Vijay’s movies are always much sought after. His last political action film,Thalaivaa, that saw its theatrical release after having run into troubled waters for its political overtones was reportedly bought by Sun TV for a whopping Rs 15 crores, which was claimed to the highest ever sum paid for a Tamil film.

According to latest reports, satellite rights of Vijay’s upcoming film Jilla, have again been bought by Sun TV for an astronomical figure of Rs 18 crores.

It may be recalled that satellite rights of Vijay’s last two releases – Nanban and Thuppakki, bagged by another TV channel were also acquired for massive amounts – while ‘Nanban’ was bought for a huge amount of Rs 12 crores, ‘Thuppakki’ also got a huge sum.

Interestingly, Suriya’s new film, which is yet to begin, has been sold for Rs 15 crores. Next in the race after Vijay and Suriya comes Ajith whose upcoming film “Veeram” has been purchased for Rs.13 crores.

Meantime, going by the reports given by a Tamil weekly in the recent past, the pay packets that our star heroes are getting bigger and bulkier with every movie.

Vijay pocketed Rs.11 crores for Thuppakki, Rs.14 crores for Thalaivaa and it becomes even bigger for his next film,Jilla – which would be Rs.15 crores. Buzz is that Vijay may make the big jump to the next league with his next film with AR Murugadoss that is scheduled next year – with Rs.18 crores!

We had reported in April this year that Vijay topped Kollywood actors in Forbes India Celebrity 100 list for the year 2012.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has made it to the top in the Forbes India Celebrity list for 2012 amongst the Kollywood actors. Among the Kollywood actors featuring in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list, Vijay topped the list at number 28, Suriya at number 43 and Ajith at number 61. In both ‘Money’ and ‘Fame’ ranks that were awarded to the celebrities, Vijay came out tops under both the categories among the Tamil actors.

Taking all these factors into account, Vijay can be called as the Super-Duper King of Box Office or can we say,the next rising Superstar of Tamil film industry?

At the success meet of Nimirnthu Nil, which was held 2 days back at a popular Chennai star hotel, director Samuthirakani had revealed that he was in talks for a film with Ilayathalapathy Vijay. When we investigated with a source close to the director, this is what he had to say
"Samuthirakani and Vijay haven't met each other till now, though they have had discussions over the phone. The talks for this project are in process but nothing has been confirmed. Once they meet, things may fall in place. The situation will also become clearer after the release of Janda Pai Kapiraju, the Telugu version of Nimirnthu Nil. Samuthirakani is also in talks for a film with Jiiva. His next film will be known clearly by April"
It must be noted that after his current commitment with director Murugadoss, Vijay is expected to begin work with director Chimbudevan and he is also in talks for a film with young director Atlee. Will he move on to this proposed Samuthirakani film after all these films or does he have other plans? We have to wait and watch.

I hope Vijay will do just a movie, that is not a mass movie. He has proven he can act pull it off in movies like Kannukkul Nilavu(although it was flop his acting was great), Friends (esp climax). A movie without silly intro, no punch dialogues, no item songs, no over the top fights, an unexpected climax.

I hope he will be selfish in his selection of the movie after Chimbudevans project and care more about scoop for acting, rather please the mass fan base.

Yesterday Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay has watched a special show of Chimbu Devan's Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavanigalum. After watching the show, the actor has appreciated the entire cast and crew for making a good film.
Interestingly in one of the scenes of Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavanigalum, Arulnidhi will bamboozle that he is Vijay's manager, while Bindhu Madhavi is Vijay's stylist and Bhagavathi Perumal is Vijay's astrologer.
It has to be noted that Vijay's next film after Kaththi will be directed by Chimbu Devan.

A R Murugadosss’s Thuppakki was a well made film that dealt about sleeper cells where Ilayathalapathy Vijay played the role of an army captain with elan. Although Vidyut Jamwal was the main antagonist, there were also other bad men in the film, the notable among them is Gautam Kurup who played one of the sleeper cells.
This Chennai born, Delhi based Malayalam actor has acted with the likes of Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachchan in films like Kandahar and Salaam Kashmir.
Although he has worked in many films, he recalls with fondness his Thuppakki days with Vijay. Gautam says,“The scene when Vijay chops my fingers in the film was a long one and Vijay was very supportive of me. He helped get the best from me. I can never forget those days”.
Gautam Kurup has also worked in Pudhiya Thiruppangal.

It's a No for Rajini and Kamal, but a Yes for Vijay


One of India's most respected actresses, Sridevi, made her big comeback to Bollywood in 2012 with English Vinglish, a much-loved and highly successful movie which continues to rule the roost till date in some international markets. To cash in on her popularity in Tamil and Telugu, English Vinglish was also dubbed in these languages and met with a decent response down South too.

Sridevi was all along approached for films in Tamil, opposite the likes of even Rajini and Kamal but she didn't accept them for some reason. Now, we have come to know that she has been floored by director Chimbudeven's script for the upcoming Ilayathalapathy Vijay film, which will go on floors sometime in August this year. Sridevi is reported to have accepted to work in this film, which is supposed to have a fantasy base.

We had earlier reported that Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone is also likely to be roped in for this film, along with ace composer A.R.Rahman. To add more weight to this already heavyweight team, Shruti Haasan is also touted to be in the running for a possible role but her involvement in the film can be ascertained only after a few more days' time.

Watched OKMK. Not a bad attempt. Inspired by Run Lola Run, Sliding doors, this film is about three friends trying to kidnap a girl from her wedding and the same story is shown as starting from three time frames (8.59 AM, 9 AM and 9.01 AM).

Performances of the leads, Comedy and attention to minute details were good. But the screenplay was a letdown. I understand that you cant make it racy when you show the same incident thrice. But still you could've done a better job. Jeeva did it with 12B.

On Vijay taking up Chimbudevan project, I definitely don't mind as the guy has some grey matter. But he should understand the whole lot of expectations when he comes up with such a big team (if at all its true)

Narendra Modi met Rajni at his residence last week. He also wanted to meet Vijay. But Vijay was shooting in Hyderabad and hence couldn't meet Modi. The TN BJP leaders made a request to Vijay and he immediately oblidged to meet Modi in Coimbatore. The officials booked a room right next to the room where Modi stayed. The meeting lasted for around 30 minutes and both of them were interacting as if they were known to each other for years.

Advertisement posters showcasing 'Ilayathalabathi' Vijay endorsing a private jewelry shop have been targeted by Election commission officials. As per the order of the officials, actor Vijay's face has been removed from those posters pasted across Coimbatore.

Vijay met Narendra Modi, The Prime Ministerial candidate of Bharathiya Janata Party last week in a private hotel in Coimbatore where the Gujarat Chief Minister was stationed for campaigning for his party candidates. Though Vijay had clarified that the meeting was apolitical, the Election commission officers apparently see the meeting as Vijay's way of endorsing a particular party. Hence this action has been taken, sources say.

Quick Question, how much does Rajini has impact in deciding fate of tamilnadu politics, remember when he vouched for Jaya and Jaya ended up losing all 39 seats.

If vijay doesn't have at least a minimum impact, why does a potential PM candidate has to meet him in a very busy schedule of his campaign. With vijay's political interests it might look like he is losing now, on long run u will understand the story later.

Sandalwood star Sudeep has signed a Tamil film on Monday in which he will be acting alongside Tamil star Vijay. His remuneration for the film is Rs 6 crore, which not only makes him the highest paid Kannada actor in any language including Kannada, but also the highest paid south Indian actor in a language other than his own.
Sources said Sudeep will play a "parallel" character to that of Vijay in the as-yet-unnamed film, where Deepika Padukone plays a key role. The film is to be directed by Simbudevan and produced by Selvakumar and Shibu. This is Sudeep's first direct foray in Tamil after the huge success of the Telugu-Tamil Eega-Naani earlier. IT’S CONFIRMED: SUDEEP, SRIDEVI IN CHIMBUDEVAN’S
FILM WITH VIJAY
Vijay’s next film with Chimbudevan has created a lot of buzz with big names like Sridevi being roped in for the film. While Sandalwood actor Sudeep, who was last seen in Naan Ee in Tamil, did give us a hint that he might to this film, now, the actor confirms that he’s very much part of the project. Owing to his popularity in the industry post Naan Ee, Sudeep, we hear, took a long time to finalize this film. “I got a lot of offers after Naan Ee, but since I had an expectation to meet, I didn’t want to hurry up on my next film. Chimbudevan approached me with the script about two months back. However, I was held up with my Kannada project. But what really impressed me with this team is that they waited for me and didn’t look for someone else, which shows that they had me in mind for the role,” says an excited Sudeep.
The buzz is that it will be an adventure fantasy film. “It is not a period or historical film… but a fantasy film, which is a new genre for all of us in the team. Every subject has a bright and a grey shade. One reason why I agreed to do this project is that Chimbudevan didn’t approach me looking for a villain. He’s done a good job with the
characterization,” says Sudeep.
Talking about sharing screen space with Vijay, he says, “Vijay and I have met a couple of times at social dos. Considering we both are silent, it was quite a task to interact with each other (laughs). For an actor of his stature having another actor of equal stature from another industry is a big deal. A lot of people, including Sridevi have been roped in. I am very excited to work with him and looking forward for the project to take off.” The team, we hear, will begin shooting from September as they team need to work on CG now.

There are many such illiterate characters who use a popular star when they need to get attention and political mileage. Some crapheads like him even abused Amitabh when he became the ambassador for Gujarat tourism at Modi's request. I am more amazed at the lack of judgement on what should make it's way to this forum. There is lots that gets spoken for or against every actor...not sure if every video should make it's way here in the hub.

Looks like the casting for the next one with Chimbudevan is shaping up real well. Action-fantasy, a multi-starer of sorts, AR Rahman's music (if confirmed) looks big. But all this in the hands of Selvakumar-Sibhu? P

Nevertheless, Vijay continues to impress with his choice of scripts and technicians. Sure-shot he has moved on to the next level. I hope he works with Suseendran next, just to have the balance.

Sivakarthikeyan seems to be taking the Vijay route with Maan Karate and i read somewhere about someone suggesting Siva to be called with a 'Thalapathy' title.

All other things ok.. except for the title...that was inspired by Rajini film Thalapathy......... also in political circles from the time of Anna period they are using the word Thalapathy.... he should have selected a unique one...but at that time he was just a new comer and required something like this... but athukappuram maathirukkalam...

True that it was inspired by the Rajni film. But gradually Vijay has made it his own. Now when u say Thalapathy in filmi circles, its only Vijay who comes to your mind. And there are many Thalapathy wannabes who sprout every now and then. Chinna,Puratchi and Veera Thalapathys.
