Ilayathalapathy Vijay, most affectionately and tenderly called as “Vijay Anna” by a profound fan following ranging from juveniles to patriarchs is all set to celebrate his 39th birthday when the clock ticks 00:00:01am sharp on 22nd June, 2013 which shall now on be called “Thalapathy Day” or “Ilayathalapathy day”. “A Favorite hero” is not just an ordinary individual who just acts and who is just good in looks, but he is the one who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of plenty of obstacles that comes on his way. If you exactly understood what I meant in the above definition then Vijay is undoubtedly the favorite hero of mine and many others for that sake.
Life Begins at 39 Thalaivaa !
Vijay Anna has always been the one, who understands the responsibility that comes with his lovely name “ilayathalapathy” which was befittingly christened by his millions and millions of ardent fans. I never mean to say he was always undefeated but nevertheless he was undaunted in his entire venture under tremendous pressure to satisfyhis diehard fans and he has succeeded in it to a greater extent. He has been a personal source of inspiration to many a people like me to get up and run harder and hit things hard when chased by failures and criticisms.
Do you still believe that this young gun has turned 39 today?
As Leo Tolstoy stated “there is no greatness where there is no simplicity, Goodness and truth”. There are many a things you can admire from this 39 year old youngster and his way of living, amongst them simplicity, patience, tolerance, compassion, humbleness, perseverance, persistence, physical fitness, downrightness, generosity, attitude, duty consciousness, punctuality and what not? The list would go endless when you are describing the traits of vijay Anna. The moment you see him either on the screen or off the screen you get to be animated with joy, optimism and positive vibration in spite of him being a silence personified human being.
Doesn't he sing like a Professional Singer?
His songs, dance steps and adorably cute smile have always been my personal source of inspiration and a morale booster whenever I am morally down. You would have been busted out in the office, screwed up by your professors and teachers in your college and school respectively; you would have been pissed off or deceived by people in your life when you were in any relationship. But it just takes a single vijay movie, or a feat tapping vijay song in the Television to boost up your spirits and get you to back to work, normalcy and life. (“Ellapugazhum”from Azhagiya Tamil magan and “Sandhosham Sandhosham” from themovie youth have always been my healers during my tough times.
Doesn’t he look like a decent guy more like your brother if you don’t have one? And more like your other brother if you already have one? Whom you know for quite a longer time in your life? Doesn’t he resemble a good looking friend of yours whom you can always trust and rely on? And with whom you feellike sharing all your problems and don’t you feel his shoulders are meant for consoling us? Yes and that is why you call him “Vijay Anna” straight from your heart and not fromyour mouth.

This project is likely to commence by 2014. Now, the latest we heard is Vijay has not given dates to anyone after Vijay - ARM project.

Director Shankar will be most probably directing Vijay after completing Shankar's I says sources. This flick is said to be made with a huge budget. Vijay has given him bulk dates for this project, adds sources. If sources are to be believed, we will be seeing another blockbuster from Director Shankar - Vijay combo!

Now this is big. If inside sources are to be believed, the combo that gave us that memorable remake of 3 Idiots in 2012, Nanban, is set to reunite for a big budget extravaganza. Yes, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Shankar might assemble for a new project in 2014 after the two are done with their other commitments. It is heard that Vijay has agreed to allot bulk dates for this Shankar film after his other flicks are done.

Vijay is waiting for the release of Thalaivaa and is currently shooting for Jilla. He is also committed to a big A.R.Murugadoss project next year, after the path-breaking performance of Thuppakki last year.

Shankar is currently working day and night for I, featuring Vikram and Amy Jackson. This film is expected to take some more months to complete, by which time, Vijay is also expected to be free from his other commitments.

When Behindwoods correspondent contacted Vijay's manager, he was non-committal and replied that he would be in a position to answer affirmatively only when the Vijay - Murugadoss project has commenced.

Much can happen between now and then, and as of now, the Vijay - Shankar reunion, though mighty exciting, is still in its nascent stages. We will keep you posted on all the moves in this regard.

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's life is believed to be just like the screenplay of Ghilli. It is believed by many that he peaked off so fast. But it is vice-versa. When Vijay told his parents that he is interested in acting, a strict refusal is what he got as a reply. They wanted him to become a doctor. Even his friends mocked him when he had told about his ambitions of becoming a hero. It was not only because of his appearance alone, also because he didn't get himself involved in any of the minimum needs like horse riding, fight and dance practices, which, in those days were the minimum requirement for a star's son to enter the field. The maximum effort which he took was to bunk classes and go for Annamalai at Udayam. Yet, he was caught many times in the middle of the show and he was taken back home forcefully. So right from this till now,there were many mockeries about him that stated he didn't take any effort to reach the Super Stardom which he is enjoying now. But is it right?

Vijay's 1st film was a failure. During the shoot of his second film, even crew members had written him off. Because in the beginning, Vijay was not at his best in these basic skills. Only after that, he went for dance and fight practices. And as you people know, these are two of the main positives of Vijay today. Today he receives unanimous praise from fans and haters alike for his dance!! Those who mocked him for those inabilities of him in dance and fights in his beginning are the same ones who are appreciating him for being unparalleled today with those skills.

Kamal sir, on being asked to name the best dancers of Indian Cinema, he included Vijay to be 1 among the few mentioned.And even for this, some retards will blabber that it happened just because he was a director's son. Folks... GET A LIFE!

Many star kids entered the industry. Note - MANY! But Vijay is the only one who has sustained for such a long time! Kudos to him, for working hard and keeping his position as an actor afloat for 20 long years! His fan base is unmatched... be it kids, females, or the young boys, or family audience, he is loved by all categories! Without having a proper target, he did some films in the beginning of his career. Now,even Vijay won't be happy for his works in those films. So lets leave them. He then started acting in some romantic family entertainers. The centuries which he scored with "Poove Unakaaga", "Kadhaluku Mariyathai", "Thulatha Manamum Thullum" are unmatched even now. Again in the middle stages, people started saying "ITS OVER FOR VIJAY".

Only during this, Vijay was getting some new competitors from Sethu, Vaali, Amarkalam. So deciding that he has to change his path, Vijay acted in Kushi. The way he dressed,his body language, his dance was totally new. The film had one of the biggest openings those days. It is the most prominent one out of the few superb cult classics that he has given. Again, films like "Friends", "Bagavathi", "Badri" and "Youth" were successful after which he experienced a downfall for another time in his career with "Tamizhan", "Pudhiya Geethai", "Vaseegara" and "Shah Jahan"... Then came "Thriumalai" and catapulted him to the MASS hero status. "Ghilli" is the film that defined him! A clean commercial entertainer that is enjoyed thoroughly even now when shown on TV The recall value this film has is literally unmatched! The perfect example that even a masala movie can be considered a classic!

But then he got repetitive.. Even though he tasted success (Thirupachi, Sivakasi, Pokkiri), the number of haters were increasing. His films were labeled as "illogical" and "run-of-the-mill". He got himself the tag of being a stereotype. He again bombed with "Aadhi", "ATM", "Villu", "Sura".. So far he had faced everything! A roller coaster ride that showed him everything of the industry. What works, and what not. This is when he entered a new dimension of sorts. His script selections were wiser, with "Kaavalan" and "Nanban". Still there was something missing with Vijay's success stories. People were saying that he tries only remakes to be safe and never takes risk. Forward to Diwali 2012, and the rest is history

2013... The whole industry looks upto him as one of the most bankable stars. Not only bankable, but respected too. He never stops bringing a smile onto our face, especially through his singing, news about the antics he does along with his crew, and many other stories! He looks smarter, more handsome and manly since "Nanban". All his costumes are just *WWoooWW* !! Even his advertisements have very good response from family audience.

Way to go! His next release, with the tagline "Time To Lead" is Thalaivaa, a film that has humongous expectations riding on it... let us see pre-view analysis of the movie! Thalapthy is back, with his dark moustache... simply back to his "CLASS". This is the time I was always waiting for! He has finally dumped crappy roles, and is donning a matured attitude in this film. The main reason, other than Vijay, for which I am looking forward to this film is Nirav Shah's cinematography! He is simply _/\_ flawless! The rusty color tone works BIG TIME for the genre. The trailer itself spoke volumes about his professional talent. The lighting, movements, backgrounds, everything elevated the mood of the scenes. Gonna be pure class on screen Music, acting and other technical nuances... Wait for the review The first half is expected to be inclined towards Vijay's biggest talent - dance. The "Tamil Pasanga" song is tailor-made for his jaw-dropping steps! The background dancers will add to the dance atmosphere, and will appeal to all galleries. Wait! Is that it? NO! The main attraction of the film is yet to come! "Ectsasy Theme" song by GVP will be playing in the background while Vijay and Amala Paul create magic with their dance... Will be a highlight + visual treat and standout performance for sure! The recently released Theme music will also be a rocking experience, especially in Dolby Atmos!

But then the entire film is not based on dance. The main action is based around gangsters and their lineage. Veteran Sathyaraj plays Vijay's father, and his casting looks spot-on from what I could catch from the trailer. His "wise spirit" looks will add on to the tension and emotions along with Vijay! The rest of the cast seems adequate, and nothing more can be commented till I watch the film. But I feel Santhanam's presence might dampen the film's flow.. Just my honest opinion! Distributors have loved the film it seems, and it also feels like this one is going to be Thalapathy's best ever performance. His one-liners are being awaited with bated breath too! But at the same time, I also feel that nothing can get better than "I am waiting" from Thuppakki! That one is just unbeatable!
:exactly: But if there are moments in this one that can get even close to this dialogue, then you have a guaranteed enjoyable experience! I am leaving the rest to wait till August 9!

The movie opens with the Pokum malarae song, where you immediately are introduced to Udhaya. As his name suggests, he wakes up in a cabin on the tree with a book folded over his face like a mountain. Here its been preplanned not to waste any more screentime to develop Udhaya's character and they use the song to register that Udhaya is a bookworm (a high graduate fellow - Kandipa namma batch illa), cool, social - Patavida sirukama sollanumna - oru sweet boy. The following episodes explain his integration towards his country, how he wishes to ride to sucess by aiding in India's upliftment. With just few lab apparatus + a train key chain (thats a great symbol for what is in store in the second half) he discovers a bomb and wishes to use the energy it would produce in various sectors, ofcoarse for all the good purpouses. This cool and calm guy has a weakness, his temper. Eventhough measured, he is like a goat, he fonces whenever his dear ones are in trouble without a second thought. Vasanthi, another commoner in the town, and Udhaya secretly without their permission fall for each others charm. The time they pass was so lovely that Vasanthi fails to inform Udhaya that she is already engaged. When Udhaya comes to know about it, he is shattered and without giving a second thought, he packs to go to the city, a normal strategy used - when you keep away, you start to forget. At the city, Bashir, another commoner from the same town as Udhaya, helps him with accomdation and a job as a journalist. udhaya's phisolophical point to work for the upliftment of India, shines in the reporting role too as he wishes to pinpoint the anomalies in the soceity and bring an awarness. The tool he takes in hand is "truth". But ofcoarse - you can see the height, but never reach it - strikes another blow crushing Udhaya's motive to bring forward an illegal spirit (poli sarayam) scandal as the hands indulging in it are the sharks who swim in buisness-men costumes. While being dejected, Udhaya is offered help by 3 of his neighbours who really got some weird ideas which are anything but social, but what they got more was guts. Teaming up with Udhaya and Bashir, they publish the news that pulls of the strings in all worng ways possible, resulting in the murder of Bashir. Oh boy, loosing all his bright hopes due to all his shattered dreams and loved ones, the clueless Udhaya meets the Thalivar of the 3 guys, Dhananjaya Veeran. The sweet talks of Veeran comes as a medicine to all Udhaya's internal wounds. He teams up with Veeran actively involving in various social awareness programs. To add to the shinning times, Vasanthi comes back to the city in search of Udhaya, after a grand mishap that staled her marriage. Veeran takes them under his wings by providing them a place to live, eventhough a garage, a suitable place for the love birds to continue their 2nd innings. Udhaya is getting back to the life he had dreamed, he redefines happiness. During this peek of joy, a convincing tale narrated by Veeran, makes Udhaya to produce the bomb (scroll up to see the bomb discovery), a quantity of 10 kgs, so that Veeran could use it for a normal cause - for quarry jobs. The naive Udhaya runs back to Veeran when he learns that several kids and women were killed in a bomb blast, asking him to give him all the violent means to take down the ones behind this gruesome act. Veeran convinces him that he will take care of it himself, and he does take care of it by informing the police that Udhaya is the brain behind the blasts and the evidences of the bomb manifacturing is in a garage. What follows next are quite few revelations about Veeran, udhaya's deception & Vasanthi's all the means to liberate Udhaya from the vulture eyed police.

If you are convinced with the above narative and have a wow factor about Udhaya, the movie will prove you wrong. Usualy I put "I have a problem with ..." as the last points so that you can catch it up when you watch the movie, but here I start by telling you those as Udhaya on screen looks half-baked. The editting is wrost than a school kids first crayon drawings. The scenes jump off, the continutity lags, the dialogues and scenes do not correspond. Add much much elements to it, the movies looks like a shattered dreams of a creator to whom this movie was quite dear and near. Now, get back few previous posts you will find out the dark history on the development of the film. Talking ill things about Udhaya is like beating a dead snake. Instead what was served must be enjoyed thoroughly. These various points made this movie more dear to me as it allowed me to play with it. I can easily follow the pattern the film maker wants to put forward, and if he was allowed to do so, this movie would be talked about for all good reasons. But still it has reasons for Vijay Fans to cherish this movie and book mark it.

Vijay - you can note various mannerism of vijay those which are shelfed in a museum now. To start with, its the last movie where he actualy artuculates properly by using both his lip and teeth. He gives those natural smiles and cries with a shyness spontenously. He brings out the innocense quite normaly but certainly fails to emote the deception. Hey! we are talking about 2004 and an upcoming actor whose been given coaching lessons by Nazzer & Balasingh. But he does pull off his character quite good. From the romance angle you can't get to see many things unfolding (again check some previous posts to know the disaster), but how Azhagam Perumal uses the mind voice as a narrative projects the charm of the lead characters putting us in a similar dream state. Its one of a kind last movie, where Vijay leaps and fights. He does that with quite efficiency not minding who is attacking him, but only bothered to punch anyone who approaches him. The whole construction buliding fight sequence was shot and editted beautiful which not only shows the aggressive nature, but also a normal human instinct to escape. And finally the gruesome climax on closed bus on fire brings back the momentum. After the college fight episode, look out for the blue shirt guy. Vijay passes a message to "some" fans, following it would be quite healthy for several discussions.

Simran - Talking about Simran would prove that I am still partial to certain artists. Bring in Simran, I dont have anything else to note, ask rapidfire questions at me then, the reply you would get from me would be "Acha..Kidhar". What an elegence. The lip syncs she does make you forget that someone is dubbing for her. And just before the SPB-malayam song Vijay comes to meet her while she is singing ryhms for the kinder garden kids. I wish I too took a place like Vijay in the classroom ! Simran teacher is a student's luck.

Nazeer - Heath Ledger yenna aiya Heath Ledger, namma allu chuma mookai-yum oru siripaiyum mattum vachikinu, romba asalta panni irruparu. Just like the Udhaya character, Azhagam Perumal has conceived Veeran equally brilliant. Notablly the way shots were kept for Nazeer automaticaly puts you straight up in the chair. Till the end this Veeran Character did not miss even a single meter right from costumes to performence. Add the eagle-cry bgm for him, you feel the crookedness. Orey oru scene soldran - When vijay comes crying to him after the bomb blast, Nazeer carefully listens to him and before assuring him he turns and looks at Balasingh and then again turns back at Vijay. A lesson from Nazeer. Equally performing is Balasingh. Sirichikita pusuku pusuku-nu Kaala vari oudra character.

Music - Better enjoy the Pokum malare song eachtime you want to know about the music of this film. Its funny that noted one thing when I was watching the title cards to put the names of people involoved in this film. The title music sounds like the "Subway Surf" game ... LoL.

Azhagam Perumal - I really cannot pinpoint or understand what really would have gone wrong. Azhagam Perumal seems to be quite confident with his script, the strongness being the characters and the casting. But did he fail in administration and co ordination as a director. You see, preproduction does interest me, but my role basically come only after - reviewing the end product. Whatever happened was pathetic. "Haunted Script" lines padikum podhu, you tend to beleive in Ghosts. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, the way the original scenes were filmed are gloomy to the eyes. The natural lights, the focus on beautiful things that the film maker wants us to see, the zoom-in, zoom-out kind of naration are all note worthy. Be it few romantic lines or the "hot-coal" views of the Veeran's Iyakkam are well written. The way the twists are handled along with the narative and not as a suprise element are briliant. But still I felt that the mystry about the Iyakkam short lived. I would have liked the Iyakkam's hand on trapping Vijay right from the begining as a mysterious body would have worked well too. Add in all the censor problems, the whole Iaykkam's impact goes for a toss. Remake the film I say !

For Fans (ofcoarse others too) : Not taking into account Thirumalai to save some "serious" sub-posts, Udhaya marks itself as a mile stone in Vijay's carrier. The vigarous shift form the "boy-next-door" to "Last-action-hero" enters this movie quite bolded in Vijay's filmography. Each actor, has a BC and AD sort of thing. This one falls as BU (Before Udhaya) and AU (After Udhaya) for Vijay. Neither this movie should be forgetten in viewership nor omitted in the sucess of Vijay.

The shoots of Vijay's Jilla are currently happening in Hyderabad and the likes of Mohanlal and Kajal Agarwal are also involved in the shoots along with Ilayathalapathy. The team plans to shoot here for a substantial period before moving to foreign territories for some song sequences. They will finally complete work in Chennai.

We hear that Jilla might not make it in time for Pongal 2014, as earlier planned. The summer of 2014 is being targeted as an ideal release time for this full-fledged mass masala entertainer. With movies such as Ajith's Veeram and Karthi's Biriyani already in the Pongal release pipeline, Jilla's participation in this race seems unlikely, as of now. Also, promotions for the movie, in the form of teasers and first look posters, might be kickstarted only after Diwali.

Parotta Suri and Vidyu Raman will be in charge of the comedy portions of Jilla while the likes of Poorima Bhagyaraj, Ravi Mariya and Mahat are also cast in the movie.

அதன்பின் தனது உதவியாளர்களைக் கூப்பிட்டு மானாவாரியாக டோஸ்விட்ட முருகதாஸ், இப்போது விஜய்க்காக புதுக்கதையைத் தனியாக உட்கார்ந்து தயார் செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

Frankly Vijay has done better in the head on clashes. But my personal opinion is that it is a futile exercise to compare say a Pokkiri and a Aazhwar. No point when a below par movie of star clashes with a better one of the other. If we had a Ghilli vs Mankatha or a Mankatha vs Thuppakki sort of a battle it would be juicy and we get to know who has got a better crowd pull.

'Arrambam' Director Keen to Work with
Vijay, Suriya

Director Vishnu Vardhan has worked in seven films, so far, including one Telugu film with Pawan Kalyan. Vishnu has worked with different actors, but he has
also repeatedly cast a few of them in his films. For
instance, the director has worked with Arya in four
of his films - "Arindhum Ariyamalum", "Sarvam",
"Pattiyal" and the upcoming film "Arrambam". Actor Ajith has also featured in two of Vishnu's films,
including the 2007-blockbuster flick "Billa" and
"Arrambam". Vishnu's repeated associations with Ajith
and Arya have led to speculations on whether the
director will work with other popular stars in the likes of Vijay and Suriya.

The director has clarified the speculations saying he
will work with Vijay and Suriya in his upcoming films. "I will definitely break this sentiment and will work with other top stars such as Vijay and Suriya in my upcoming films. The reason for my repeated associations with Ajith and Arya is that they are much more than professional actors and are close friends to me. My understanding with them is fine and the working atmosphere is really conducive," he was quoted as saying by Behindwoods. It will be big treat for fans of Vijay and Suriya if
the actors work with Vishnu. The director is known
for his action-packed entertainers that are critically- acclaimed and commercially successful. Vishnu is currently busy with the post-production
work of his new film "Arrambam", which is all set for
a grand Diwali release. The film's audio was released on 19 September and opened at the top spot on iTunes India. After the release of "Arrambam", Vishnu is expected to begin work on his next project. One needs to wait a little longer to find out if the film will feature Vijay or Suriya in the lead role.
