சுராஜ் இயக்கத்தில் கார்த்தி, அனுஷ்கா, சந்தானம் உள்ளிட்டோர் நடிக்கும் படம் அலெக்ஸ் பாண்டியன். இந்த படத்தின் சண்டை காட்சி ஒன்றை மைசூர் அருகே எடுத்துள்ளனர். அந்த காட்சியில் அனுஷ்கா டூப் போடாமல் ஓடும் ரயிலில் இருந்து குதித்துள்ளார்.

இது குறித்து சுராஜ் கூறுகையில்,

கதைப்படி ரயிலில் செல்லும் கார்த்தியையும், அனுஷ்காவையும் வில்லன்கள் ஹெலிகாப்டரில் துரத்துவார்கள். அந்த காட்சியில் ரயிலின் மேல் கார்த்தியும், அனுஷ்காவும் நடந்தனர். திடீர் என்று அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஓடும் ரயிலில் இருந்து கீழே குதிக்க வேண்டும். அப்போது அனுஷ்கா டூப் வேண்டாம் நானே குதிக்கிறேன் என்று கூறினார். அதன் பிறகு ரயிலை மெதுவாக இயக்கச் சொன்னோம். தொடர்ந்து அனுஷ்கா ரயிலில் இருந்து கீழே குதித்தார். இந்த ஒரு சோசிங் காட்சியை ரூ.2 கோடி செலவில் 15 நாட்களில் படமாக்கியுள்ளோம். படத்தில் இந்த காட்சி பேசப்படும் என்றார்.

Karthi to become a dad
There's some good news in the Sivakumar household. The latest news we hear is that actor Karthi (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Karthi) will soon become a dad as his wife Ranjini is in the family way. It looks like the actor, who has completed work on his Alex Pandian and is slated to start his next soon, is spending a lot of time with his wife dearest.
On the work front, the Paruthiveeran star will start shooting for his Biriyani with Venkat Prabhu (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Venkat-Prabhu) from the beginning of next month. While the leading lady for this film is yet to be finalized, it is heard that Biriyani too will be a typical Venkat Prabhu film with a lot of fun elements.

Director Suraj (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Suraj) is thrilled with the way one of the songs in his forthcoming film, Alex Pandian (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Alex-Pandian), has shaped up. The director tells us that the song, Naanthan Kattu Raja..., has been shot in three different sets and Karthi (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Karthi) and Anushka (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Anushka) have interesting looks in the song.

He says, "We shot this number in three different places as well. The first get-up is that of a tribal lord. Karthi and Anushka dress up as tribals, and we shot this sequence in lush green forests in Chalakudy. It will be a refreshing change for the audience. The second look is that of a pirate. We had erected huge sets of ships and shot the sequence realistically in Puducherry. Both Karthi and Anushka look convincing as pirates."

He adds, "The final look is that of a British king. We had hired horses and carriages, and the two wear royal robes. This was shot near Red Hills. We spent a lot on this song alone, and are extremely happy with its outcome. This song will be the highlight of the album."

The team is planning to launch the film's album, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Devi-Sri-Prasad), on November 24. "We are yet to decide on the venue. But it will be a grand event, with several live performances. I will also screen this song at the function," he smiles.
Meanwhile, Suraj tells us that the film is in its post production stage now.

"We are working on the editing now. With Karthi, one can make a perfect action comedy, as he gets both right. So, I can say that with this film, he has displayed both these traits amazingly well," he signs off.

Siruthai was OK though it was no where close to the original. This is like padikkathavan+Siruthai with 25% quality of each. Horrible movie. Don't waste your money.
Not even a single scene in the movie is new. They have copied even the comedy scenes from popular Goundar-Ramarajan jokes. If you can watch a 1980's masala, this one is for you :)

It looks more and more like masala movie directors seem to run out of ideas aft 2-3 movies, like : Dharani, Perarasu, Boopathi Pandiyan, and Suraaj. The movie is test of patience, even for a masala movie fan like me. But regardless masala movies will still be my preferred kind of movies rather than boring movies like vazhakku en 18/9, Kumki, Mynaa, and and more.

Things that irked me abt the movie:
story and screenplay not ok.
intro scene fight: 8 minutes
anushka being totally wasted
manobala comedy
2nd Villain getting introduced near interval, same thing happened in Padikkathavan
Karthis dance, still no improval, he must try learn from Surya.

Things that worked for me:
3 sisters + santhanam comedy, the double meaning dialogues doesnt bother me, we live in 2013 for gods sake, does your ear bleed listening to adult jokes?
DSPs songs, although the edited the songs too much

Agree. I shouldn't have worried. He is just like other heroes who delivers masala craps for 90% of the movies. But since he is at the initial stages of his career and has talent (which he proved in his first and second film), he need not go that way. He has potential unlike other pure masala stars.

This movie is a classic exemple of the pressure due to competition. The pressure is not only with respect to collection in parent state, but distributing and gaining sucess in the other territories, notable Andra and Kerela. Gone were the days where the sucess was determined with the number of days run. Now all it counts is who is N° 1 in releasing them in the above mentioned states. Now that hella of a pressure made a team lead by Suraj to make a movie. Keeping in mind the draw Karthi has in TN, they decided to convince the other state audiences. A cheap gamble.

The story is a Paragraph full with the sentences being the one line plot of several Telugu movies. Good Idea, why remake a whole film and get a bad name, as it will be called "copy". Instead, take just the one liners, no questions asked. Simadhiri, Pokiri, Sainakudu, hitler and many more telugu moviesare the veins and nerves of Alex Pandian.

Alex Pandian is a local goon who does anything for money. He gets a irresistable offer to Kidnap the TN CM's daughter. He does so, but in the process of keeping her with him, he realises his mistake by analysing the motives of the baddies. Now he not only saves the CMs daughter from the clutches of the badies, but also teaches them a lesson by killing them !

First thing first to all the negative comments : This movie is a typical "masala" movie. We hear it often, but what is a masala movie. Its nothing but a movie comming under "exploitation" category, where you have all the necessary elements to sustain the viewers attention. It has something for each and every viewer. Translated as "masala" in TFI, Alex Pandiann is a typical "masala" movie. No compramise in that. The movie has not failed in its genre, its the people who are sorting out to look for art material in its content.

Secondly, I dont say that Alex Pandian is a movie watchable. I thrashed Siruthai which became a hit. Same goes with this movie too. But rest assured that we have seen movies even worst than this !

The much talked about comedy is nothing but Gentleman movie sytle humour. Enjoyable, but for how long ?
Karthi has tried his hands on dance, but still does steps a second before or after the rest. He looks confident and charming as usual.
Anuksha, eventhough does not get a decent screentime, is pretty and her moves are still sincilating.
Where Suraj extremely fails is the presentation of the movie in "Perasu" Still. The fast editing, the close up / far up shots, loud sound irritates you. Spl mention to dialogues.

I don't know about Karaikal, but in general, you got to screen the show even if it is for 1 person. I dont want to get into details, but a cancelled show due to poor audience reponse can bring huge problems from the association or the govt body backing up theatres.

Considering how bad the audio launch was for this movie, there is nothing surprising about the reports the movie's getting. I had been to the audio launch back in Chennai and I found the whole function to be torturous. Wrt theatres not screening movies due to poor response, I remember a show getting cancelled for ' Woman in Black' in Devi. I guess Sathyam doesn't do it. Probably it's the only theatre in chennai that goes ahead with a screening even if there is a very poor turnout.

Star hero Karthi who is happy for achieving the fatherhood two days ago with wife Ranajni delivering a baby girl has something bad news to share as an actor. Alex Pandian, the new tamil flick starring Karthi and Anushka was released on January11 and Telugu version Bad Boy was postponed to January 25 due to two big films Naayak and Seethama Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu could not afford to give any theatre to Karthi.


As per the reviews, Alex Pandian is a hollow film with low quality story and script. In fact, Karthi's dream to jump into commercial bandwagon failed miserably last time with Sakuni and now Alex Pandian which was rated as a regular mass entertainer with nothing to offer much including of Devi Sri Prasad's music not at all appealing. Well about Media I do not know. Stoped reading their news and reviews longtime back.
In my review (post #95), I have mentioned that the comedy is in the lines of Gentleman - but not that much obscence wrt Gentleman. But still a bit pricky to watch. Personally I didn't care, as the 3 sisters were ravishing.

I am blessed to be in an era in which Alex Pandian released! Bliss. The first appreciation should go to the Censor Board for giving a clean U certificate for this film. The opening scene itself is a challenge to Hollywood film makers. When they all think of Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Heman and more such men to rescue and defy science, Suraaj comes out with an innovative concept and say’s that even a Human can do it. Yes, Karthi is the human and that too with a heart of gold. Everyone in their review commented that Karthi ran faster than train but did anyone mention that he took a short cut to reach the train?

Annan-thangacchi paasam in this movie is the best ever I must admit, how long will we quote Pasamalar’s example. Look at Santhanam here, he not only protects his 3 sisters, he also educates the audience with so many terms which has a sexual meaning directly and indirectly.

Suraaj also has a great respect for our culture, which is very well explained in the song sung by Karthi at the ponnu vayasukku vandha function of Santhanam’s younger sister. Also the hero has a great responsibility to make the function a grand success, so that every single prospective groom now knows that the girl is fit for marriage! Wow!!!...

So far, Maruti’s vehicle have been advertised with the tagline of “Kitni deti hai” , now they also can be very sure that their vehicles are bullet proof, and also oh God, the villains should now start to learn science to find out how the bullets travel and our hero is a master of Science I should say. He can run between arrays of bullets and that too catching our heroin in one hand.

Only one song for heroin Anushka, tomorrow no reviewers will [I]naakku mela palla pottu say that heroin verum 4 paattukku mattum irukkaanga, and yes love is deaf, dumb, blind and all types of physical and mentally handicapped. He proves it when Anushka gives a look once Karthi saves her from the hill top.

As I said earlier the censor has made it clear that this movie should be watched by children; many children will now think more and understand Newton was just an idiot to give 3 laws of physics, there will be more children now excited to do new research in disproving Newton and finding out new avenues and concepts in Physics. I also assume that they’ll take the “kaai adikkaradhunnu solla koodaadhu, coin adikkiradhunnu sollanum” seriously and refine their talks in school.

Take a bow Mr. Suraaj for crafting this masterpiece and I wish many people following your trend!!!...

P.S: And yes, the Government should seriously consider waiving of service tax for the actors, actresses and others belonging to cine field as they do a great service to the nation by producing, acting and educating people with such great films!!!

Bad Boy (Karthi) bashes up a group of goons saves Anushka. Alex stays at Santhanam house despite the latter not giving him nod and flirts with his sisters Nikita Thukral, Sanusha, and Akanksha Puri. Alex kidnaps Anushka, daughter of chief minister Alvin Martin (Milind Soman) followed by few baddies instructions for signing a deal with the state government.
Performances
Karthi looked good and he has put in loads of energy for the mass entertainer. His efforts in doing the risky stunts in the early half was worth mentioning. However, his work has gone in vain due to the uninteresting screenplay.
Anushka looked gorgeous and she has got a limited role restricted to songs most of the time. She is hardly seen in the first half.
Santhanam is the saving grace for the film. Karthi-Santhanam’s scenes have worked well in the first half. However, Santhanam’s double-entendres will not entertain family audiences. Milind Soman and Suman are okay. Others were adequate.

Saravanan’s cinematography is classy and top-class, Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are good while the background score is loud at times. Editing is inconsistent and patchy, Suraj’s direction is just okay while the screenplay is illogical and predictable, dialogues are double meaning ones, though one-liners are entertaining to an extent. Production Values are lavish.
Analysis
Director Suraj has put in loads of action and entertainment into the film. The first half has good number of comedy entertaining scenes between Karthi and Santhanam but the scenes are totally irrelevant to the storyline while the action part and the villain episodes looked forced. On the other hand, there are many double meaning dialogues in the film.
The main part of the story actually begins in the second half but the narration falls flat. Bad Boy is made concentrating on the mass audiences but the fights looked out of logic and unrealistic.

Final Verdict
Predictable Story, Illogical screenplay, Overdose of action makes Bad Boy a boring watch

நாட்டின் உயர்ந்த பதவியில் இருப்பவரின் மகளை அலேக்கும் 'டிரான்ஸ்போர்ட்டர்’ கார் கதை. அதில் மசாலா பெயின்ட் அடித்து, குத்துப் பாடல்களைப் போட்டு, கிளாமர் ரூட்டில் கியர் போட்டால்... அதுதான் 'அலெக்ஸ் பாண்டியன்’.
அமெரிக்காவின் மோசடியான மருந்து கம்பெனி தமிழகத்தில் மருந்து விற்க அனுமதி கேட்கிறது. நேர்மையான முதல்வர் விசு மறுக்கிறார். அவரைச் சம்மதிக்கவைக்க, அவரது மகள் அனுஷ்காவை கார்த்தி மூலம் கடத்துகிறது வில்லன் குரூப். காதலில் விழும் கார்த்தி அனுஷ்காவைக் காப்பதே கதை.

எதிரிகளைப் பந்தாடும்போது கார்த்தியின் முறைப்புக் கண்களும், விறைப்பு உடம்பும் செம. மத்தபடி காமெடி (என்று நினைத்து) டயலாக்குகள், பாடி லாங்குவேஜ் அத்தனையும் உஷ்ஷ்ஷப்பா... என்ன ஆசையோ, 'வேட்டைக் காரன்’ எம்.ஜி.ஆர், 'டி.எஸ்.பி. அலெக்ஸ் பாண்டியன்’ ரஜினியை இமிட்டேட் செய் கிறார்.
டைட்டில் போடும்போது வருகிற அனுஷ்கா, நடுவில் காணாமல் போய், இன்டர்வெல்லின்போதுதான் மீண்டும் தலைகாட்டுகிறார். என்ன ஆச்சு? அழகான அனுஷ்கா இதில் கொஞ்சம் டயர்டாகவும், கொஞ்சம் முதிர்ச்சியாகவும் தெரிகிறாரே? கதைக்கு ஏற்ற மாதிரி கொஞ்சம் வருத்தம், கொஞ்சம் கிளாமர் காட்டிவிட்டு பை பை சொல்கிறார். ஆரம்பத்தில் மூன்று தங்கைகளைக் காப்பாற்ற சந்தானம் படும்பாடு சிரிப்ஸ் என்றால், அதுவே முன்பாதி முழுக்க இழுப்பது செம கடுப்ஸ். சந்தானத்துக்கு டபுள் மீனிங் டயலாக் பேச சொல்லித் தர வேண்டுமா? இதில் மூன்று தங்கச்சி ப்ளஸ் 'ஏ’டாகூட விளையாட்டுக்கள்.
தியேட்டரில் டிக்கெட் கிழிக்கும்போதே லாஜிக்கைக் கிழித்துவிட வேண்டும்போல. அமெரிக்காவில் இருந்து கிளம்பிவந்து, தன் மகளையே கடத்தும் வில்லனை ஒரு மாநில முதல்வர் என்னவெல்லாம் செய்ய முடியும்? வில்லனின் போனுக்காகக் காத்திருக்கிறார் முதல்வர். தன்னைக் கடத்திய கார்த்தியை, அவர் http://www.vikatan.com/av/2013/01/mzeyzj/images/p18a.jpgதண்ணீர்கொடுத்தது, தலையைத் தடவிக் கொடுத்தது போன்ற அல்பக் காரணங்களுக்காக அனுஷ்கா லவ்ஸ் பண்ணுவதெல்லாம்... 'மாயன்’ எஃபெக்ட். ஒரு ஆம்னி வேனை வைத்துக்கொண்டு படா ஸ்கார்பியோக்களை கார்த்தி பறக்கவிடுவது எல்லாம்... இட்ஸ் எ மோட்டார் மிராக்கிள்.
ஆரம்பத்தில் இருந்து கடைசி வரை காட்சிகளே அடி பின்னி எடுப்பதால், இசையமைப்பாளர் தேவிஸ்ரீ பிரசாத்தின் ஒட்டாத பாடல்களும், சரவணனின் கிறுகிறு சுற்றல் கேமராவும் பெரிய தவறாகத் தெரியவில்லை.
இயக்குநருக்கு ஒரு வேண்டுகோள்... ஆந்திரா டைப் காரசாரப் படங்களை ஆந்திராவில் எடுங்கள். தமிழ்நாடு பாவம் பாஸ்!

Karthi’s Bad Boy Movie Release Date

Karthi starrer Alex Pandian was supposed to hit the screens simultaneously with Tamil version but was later postponed and the Telugu version is now hitting the big-screens on March 1.

The film didn’t fare well at the Tamil Box-Office but let’s wait to see if it can set the cash registers ringing at Tollywood Box-Office. Anushka is playing the leading lady in the film in this Suraj directorial.

Saravanan cranked the camera and Devi Sri Prasad provided tunes for Bad Boy that also casts Sanusha, Nikitha and Santhanam in the key roles. KE Gnanvelraja produced the film under his Studio Green Films banner
