Arya is Ajith’s villain?

News has leaked out that Arya is playing an anti-hero in the film that is to have Ajith as the hero. Director Vishnuvardhan had roped in Nayanthara to play the female lead in this film. The movie will be a sort of a comeback vehicle for Nayan in Kollywood.

Trade sources say that Vishnuvardhan has plans to complete the shooting of this film in 100 days but there are chances to wrap up the shooting schedule within 75 days. It is said that the film will hit the screens this Diwali. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music for this film.

Arya’s stakes in K’town has gone up post the success of Vettai. The young actor, who is presently working in Selva’s Irandam Ulagam, has been approached by his buddy Vishnuvardhan for his next film with Ajith Kumar.

As reported by DC some time ago, Nayanthara has been signed on to play the lead opposite Thala and this will be her first Tamil film after her long hibernation.

If sources are to be believed, Arya’s role is a powerful one and he will get equal footage as Ajith! When DC contacted Arya, the Boss Engira Bhaskaran star said, “Yes, Vishnu has approached me to play one of the lead roles.

But he is still working on the script and is yet to freeze it! The line he narrated to me was extremely impressive! In principle, I have agreed to do it - although I am yet to listen to the final version and sign on the dotted line.” One may recall that it was two of Vishnuvardhan’s flicks Arindhum Ariyamalum and Pattiyal that established Arya as an action hero in a big way.

Notable Points :

1. Story & screenplay are being done by the famous duos SUBA and Vishnuvardhan. Dialogues are handled by SUBA.

2. Heroine is not finalized but they are figuring out who will be apt for the role and whose dates are free.

3. Still Vishnu's younger brother Krishna's inclusion is not clear. If he is fit for some role, surely he will be included in cast.

After having done five films in Tamil, director Vishnuvardhan went to Andhra to work with Pawan Kalyan in Panjaa. He has come back to Tamil again and is excited to team up with Ajith for his 52nd film under AM Rathnam’s production venture. In an exclusive tête-à-tête with Senior Editor Jyothsna Bhavanishankar, Vishnuvardhan talks about the film, its genre, look, rapport with Ajith and why his technical team remains the same.

Panjaa experience and feedback Although I am born and raised in Chennai, my mother tongue is Telugu and I can manage colloquial Telugu. But I speak better Tamil then Telugu. I released the first look of Panjaa and Pawan Kalyan has never looked like that in 15 years of his career. The first look gave a big hype. Pawan Kalyan was never spotted with a beard and hence when the first look was released, the curiosity factor went up. Of course if it had misfired, we could not have done anything as we had already shot the film (laughs). That character required that look and hence we changed his looks.
Panjaa had a huge opening. I went to the theatre and shot the response. For the Telugu audience, the entire experience was new from the tone to the making of the film. First time when they see the film, there would be a ‘jerk’ factor. Although most of the reviews felt that the film was good and different, they were not sure how it is going to do at the Box Office. Fortunately, Panjaa did well at the box office and I think it is the highest grosser after Bodyguard in the country.










Working in Telugu industry
I have done five films in Tamil before Panjaa. I always wanted to make films in other languages as well. But one needs to get the right moment for it. It is not that I wanted to leave everything in Tamil and go to Telugu. When I met Pawan, it was not with an objective to do a film with him. After a couple of informal ‘arattai’ sessions, we felt very comfortable with each other and we decided that we can team up and that’s how Panjaa was born. It was not a planned film. I was fortunate to do my first film in Telugu with Pawan. Although we all belong to one nation, there are so many differences in various states pertaining to ideologies, nativity and sensibilities. Generally I would say that cinema has no language but there are differences especially with regard to the feedback of the audience. The Panjaa they (Telugu audience) saw was the ‘fusion’.

What made you do a Telugu film?

As I had said earlier, in whichever language I do a film, I will always come back to do a Tamil film. That’s why I have come to work again with Ajith sir now. Already I missed the opportunity due to date issues. I myself did not expect the jolt. Now we are back and starting the film in March and I have started scripting. When you ask me why I went to Telugu, it is because there was a sync of tastes between me and Pawan. For me film has no language. In fact my mom was very happy that I at least got to do a film in my mother tongue.

Status of your film with Ajith I am at a stage where I will not be able to discuss about the story. Under Ratnam sir’s production with writers Suba on board for the first time with me, we have plunged into scripting totally. Casting is going on in parallel lines as the script is evolving.










Has the casting been finalized?

No. not yet, talks are on. Till a time that there is clarity on the characters I don’t want to cast anyone. We were basically checking who would be suitable according to the character references. We will very soon finalize.



Can you tell us the probables?
Basically, I want a fresh pairing for Ajith sir. When we roped in Nayanthara for Billa, the Ajith-Nayan pair was fresh. Trisha has done a couple of films with Ajith sir. As regards Anushka, it would be a new pair. I need to see whether she would fit in my requirements. If I am looking at Amala Paul, then her scale and Anushka’s scale are totally different. To be very frank, there are not many heroines in Tamil; why Tamil, it is the same scene all over and everyone is in a process of importing. We are looking at girls who can speak Tamil properly.

What genre would this film be? I am planning to work on a drama, more on family action drama. It will not be very urban this time. I want to have an all-together new look for Ajith sir this time. I want to switch to hard core reality. I am giving too much of an information (guffaws!). Once I develop the script and the premise ready, the exact look will automatically fall in place. I am also collecting lots of visual references. Ajith sir is going to look stunning in my film and I am sure about it.





Sarvam set a benchmark for aesthetic visuals. Would this film also follow the same route?

My frames will be beautiful (in whichever film) despite being dirty. Pattiyal which was raw and gritty also had that look. There will be something beautiful in its visuals. Definitely I will work on the look which would be new.

Is your wife Anu Vardhan also on board?

Of course yes, by default, she would be there in my project. In addition to being my best half, she completely understands my tastes and wants. There is no need for me to explain to her in detail. She will take part in my story discussions. In my team, from my ADs to editor to cinematographer to costumer to music director, they all know the story more than me. Only when there is such a clarity and transparency, everyone will work like it is their film. That’s when they would give useful inputs. So Anu will definitely be there. I have said ‘default’; hope she does not get angry with me and say she is busy and can’t work with me! (laughs)



You were supposed to do Su Venkatesan’s Kaaval Kottam. What happened?
I was meeting a lot of people as I wanted to do a period drama. When I met Venkatesan sir, we were casually discussing the book. I have not read the book fully but have heard what Venkatesan sir had told about it. But I did not have an idea to do Kaaval Kottam. The maximum that one can do is to perhaps do a section from the film. It has got an entire culture in it. I had an idea and it was the result of that search. One day I would sure do such a subject. It needs a huge preparation.

Would you do a film for your brother Krishna?

I would work with Krishna, mostly, after this film. It should not appear as a scheduled one for my brother. The right kind of script for him should happen. When it happens I would definitely direct Krishna.

Will Krishna be there in Ajith’s film?

The characters have not been locked as of now. If some suitable character is there, I would definitely take him on board.

Would you remake Panjaa in Tamil?

No, I don’t have an idea as of now. Even Billa when it was sold to Telugu, I was to have done that film in Telugu but I did not do it. It is very difficult to replicate. I feel, the excitement that you have in the first instance will not be there again. If you are not excited about something, whatever you do, you will not be happy. Even if I were to do the same film, it will not be the same and will be different.

How do you feel not doing Billa 2? I know I missed it and never expected that the dates would clash like this. But again that’s not the end. That’s the reason, Ajith sir and I are teaming up again. Whenever we work together, we make sure it is special.







When it is difficult to team up with a star for the 2nd time, how is it that you are doing a film once again with Ajith?
It is the basic collaboration. There are no rules for this. When I am able to work continuously for 5 films with the same technicians, it is all about sharing. When we work with an artist and understand their potential completely, it becomes easy. Cinema is not a one man show. It is all about collaboration. If I am not able to collaborate with my DoP or my editor or my music director, it is going to be difficult. You cannot force people. I will never create a working mood; you won’t find a stressed out mood in my sets. All my stress gets over in the pre-production stage and I relieve all the pressures at the discussion table. When we have complete clarity, any actor will like it and you can handle anybody. If you are rigid, it’s difficult.

Vishnuvardhan is getting ready to direct Ajith next. As soon as the star completes Billa 2, he will start working for this project. There is also a buzz that it could be a remake of the Hindi film Race. The latest news about this film is that Vishnu has planned a very different get-up for Ajith.

The director had done a photo shoot with Ajith in this get-up and is reportedly guarding it from the third eye. Vishnu intends to release these photos only on the day the project is to be announced. Until then, we have to wait and keep guessing the star’s look.

Vishnuvardhan is gearing up to start his comeback venture in Kollywood, which will have Ajith playing the lead role. The director has roped in writer-duo Suba to pen the dialogues.
Suresh and Balakrishnan, who write under the pen name Suba, are popular for their work in 'Ayan' and 'Ko'. They are now busy holding discussions with Vishnuvardhan to shape up the Ajith starrer.
"It will be an action flick with suspense and fun elements. Vishnuvardhan, who is credited with giving a new look to Ajith in 'Billa', is determined to dish out a full-fledged treat to the 'Thala' fans," sources say.
Yuvan Shankar Raja, the lucky mascot of both Ajith and Vishnuvardhan, will compose music for the flick, which will hit the floors soon. Besides this, Ajith has also signed a movie for Vijaya Productions, to be helmed by Shiva of 'Siruthai' fame.

Vishnuvardhan, in a television interview yesterday revealed that his next film with Ajith will go on floor in two weeks’ time. He refused to disclose the title of the film reasoning that, even the title of the film must have a mass opening.

This untitled film will have Arya, who earlier worked with the director in Sarvam, doing the role of the bad guy. Nayanthara has been roped in to do the lead lady of the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose music for this project.

It’s official now! As first reported by this newspaper, Ajith and Nayanthara — the hot pair that set the screen on fire with their chemistry in Billa in Vishnuvardhan’s direction, are all geared to sizzle again in a new untitled film with the same filmmaker.

Produced by A.M. Ratnam, the movie has yet another biggie Arya, and the buzz is that he plays a role with grey shades.

The last-minute surprise addition to the cast is Taapsee Pannu. According to tinsel town sources, Richa Gangophadyay was Vishnu’s preferred choice for the second female lead.

In fact, the Osthe actress flew down to Chennai from Mumbai a few days back — after the production house sent her tickets, and met Vishnu.

And, the latter was reportedly happy with Richa’s trimmed and toned hot look. But things took a sudden turn on Sunday and Taapsee was brought on board. Thanks to Taapsee’s powerful PR exercise!

Yuvan Shankar Raja, who vibes well with Ajith and Vishnu, has been roped in to repeat the combo’s magic in earlier films.

Writer Suba will be involved in the screenplay and dialogues along with Vishnu, while P.S. Vinod will be behind the camera.

The movie is expected to go on floors on May 31 and Mumbai will be the destination for the first schedule.

AJITH REQUEST AND VISHNUVARDHAN'S PREDICAMENT

Director Vishnuvardhan had announced several months ago that he would direct Ajith next. But sources say that the director wanted to sharpen the script even further and hoped that Ajith’s vacation soon after completing Billa 2 would give him the requisite time for that.

However, Thala is very keen on beginning the project and had asked Vishnu when the shooting would commence. This had the warning bell ring for Vishnu who decided not to waste any more time on the script, say sources. The shooting will now start rolling from May 31st.

I'm extremely sick of Ajith+Yuvan Combo. Its as sick as Surya+HJ combo. Also Yuvan is extremely in-consistent. ARR is still the best at the moment in my opinion coz of his variety.

for any Vishnu movie Yuvan is confirmed even before the script if finalized. but not only ajith fans, yuvan fans also extremely bored of this combo and don't it want anymore. that this duo is coming together in successive films, is primarily because of Ajith. also all these films have been action/gangster based, that explains the lack of variety and adds to the boredom.

Aegan is not a gangster film. Agree it is not a great film. Even if someone says it deserved such an average music, how can one justify Mankaatha? Bottomline: Both the fans are tired and bored of this combo but we can't do anything for the next few films. Let us hope future directors of THALA go to someone else since Thala doesn't recommend anyone unless asked for including his heroines.

My grouse is that thala didn't use Yuvan when he was at his peak. Even Dheena happened due to ARM. My request to thala is to ensure that the current in-form MD and directors are used for his films. That's it.

Yuvan can also regain his form. At that time, we should go to him. Having said that, I am yet to find someone who can fill Yuvan in the BGM department. :oops:

Richa Gangopadhyay is upset about the announcement regarding Ajith’s film. The actress was in the race to play one of the female leads in this Vishnuvardhan directed venture but due to some reasons Taapsee was signed up.

Richa was looking forward to share the screen space with Ajith though she knew well that the role initially offered to her was to pair up with Arya. However, with Taapsee joining the star cast and the announcement made, Richa is upset, say sources.

i have a different view on this ajith yuvan combo repeatedness:

1.)like a HJ-Surya combo i have not heard any repetetive songs,sequences in our combo wid yuvan...dheena is a romantic album with a mass song,billa had item numbers and a western and a commerciasl mass song(no romantic numbers),aegan had hip hop/jazz music all together and mankaatha too had techno classical music,kuthu and western in it...b-2 is all techno with one melody...there is no feeling of a repetition...unless the name yuvan is mentioned we wouldn feel like that...and the kind of BGM he gives...probably the best bgm work for action films this decade..

2.)people talking abt the success of songs---usually a big hit song would be a romantic one..be it oththa sollala,kangal irandal,nenje nenje etc..our last proper romantic song album was kireedom which was a hit...after that there hasnt been a proper duet number...and the biggest hit album of an ajith film is dheena which had romantic songs which is by yuvan...but still we have had our share of hit songs like my name is billa,vilayadu mankaatha,motb,sala etc...and dont forget the theme songs too....yuvan's score is refreshing in every film and with the scope provided he has done a pretty good job...dont think any other young MD with so much little scope will perform better than yuvan..

Tollywood star in Ajith’s next film?

The list of actors being roped in for Ajith's next with Vishnuvardhan seems to be never-ending! While Nayanthara, Arya and Taapsee have been signed on to play the lead roles in this multi-starrer, TOI can tell you that two other prominent actors will also be added to the cast.


While it's almost confirmed that Arvind Swamy will play an important character in the film, talks are on with some of the prominent Telugu actors, including Ravi Teja and Nagarjuna, for a powerful guest role.


A source in the know says, "Vishnuvardhan and his team are in talks with several leading actors for a guest role. They've spoken with Nagarjuna (who was supposed to work with Ajith earlier in Mankatha), Ravi Teja and Jagapathi Babu as of now. Prithviraj is also on the list. There's a good chance the film will be released in Telugu as well, and it only makes sense to rope in another actor who is equally popular in Tollywood. However, the unit is in no hurry to finalise the actor now because the guest appearance portion will be shot much later."


When contacted, producer A M Rathnam refused to divulge details, but added, "We're working out the modalities, and an official announcement will be made in a couple of days."


Thala recommends Ashwin Kakumanu
It looks like Thala has taken a liking to young actor Ashwin Kakumanu, with whom he worked with in Mankatha. The talented young actor is apparently on the look-out for performance-oriented roles and the buzz is that Ajith recommended him to Vishnuvardhan for his flick. Sources say that a preliminary meeting was held with the young actor and director. If Ashwin bags the role, it will be another winner in his kitty!

Monsoon Break For Ajith, Vishnu

Even as Ajith’s film with Chakri Toleti is gearing up for release, we hear the actor is all set to start shooting for his untitled next with Vishnuvardhan from June 2.

A source close to the unit says, “According to the original schedule, the shoot was to begin from May 31. But now, the film will start rolling on June 2 in Mumbai. It will be a 20-day schedule, and the team wants to wrap up the Mumbai portions before monsoon sets in there.”

We hear that while Ajith will start shooting for his solo portions first, Nayanthara will join the team a little later. Arya and Taapsee will shoot for their scenes in August.

Meanwhile, Yuvan Shankar Raja has already started working on the score for the film, which is being produced by A M Rathnam.

The shooting of the most expected project of 2012, the untitled mega film starring Ajith and Arya commenced in Chennai on Thursday, 31st at the Vishwaroopa Sri Shridi Sai Baba Mandir. It is a coincidence that the film had to start on a Thursday, the auspicious day of Baba a unit source says…

Arya the co – star with Ajith kumar in the film graced the occasion with his presence in the muharat of the film. The chief technicians of the film including the Director Vishnuvaradhan, Cinematographer P.S.Vinod, Writers Suba, Editor Naani, Costume designer Anuvardhan along with Mr.A.M.Rathnam marked their presence.

The first schedule of this untitled film is all set to begin on Mumbai on 2nd of June up to the month end. Nayanthara, Topsee, play the female leads of the film. Produced by A.Raghuram of Satya Sai Movies the casting of this movie is considered to be the all time “Big” of the Tamil film Industry.

A Multi Starrer Filmi Camp


Ajith, Arya and Nayanthara, are camping in Mumbai for the shoot of their untitled film directed by Vishnuvardhan.

Producer A.M. Ratnam is back in action with this film. Shooting for the multi-starrer kicked-off in style. Nayanthara was spotted having a great time on the sets — it looks like she has put all those sensational controversies behind her.

Is it tough handling so many leading actors? “Though it is a multi-starrer, every actor knows his role very well. Arya, Ajith and Nayanthara are the sweetest people and I am having a good time on the sets with them.

After completing a song sequence and a few scenes for the film, the crew will get back to Chennai,” says producer Ratnam. The crew will be camping in Mumbai for a month, to complete this phase of the film’s schedule.

Ajith maintains his salt-n-pepper look

It is confirmed by sources close to Vishnuvardhan that Ajith will maintain his salt-and- pepper look for his new untitled film being produced by AM Ratnam.

Vishnu wants his hero to look his age, as he plays a 40 plus character and will also be spotting glasses.

Vishnu’s film which has Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee in the lead roles is progressing at brisk pace. The unit is shooting on the streets of Mumbai and in some luxury flats. Vishnu is trying to complete all combination scenes of his lead actors, who have other commitments.

The untitled action packed investigative story has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It has cinematography by PS Vinod.

Vishnu has written the screenplay based on Subha’s story. The film will release for Diwali 2012.

Ajith &Vishnu shifts from Mumbai to Bengaluru!


Ajith and his favourite director Vishnuvardhan has been shooting non-stop in Mumbai for their new untitled film for producer AM Ratnam from June 1.

Suddenly as monsoon hit Mumbai, the shooting had to be cancelled on some daysdue to the rains. Vishnu who works at a fast pace had canned almost 25 % of the shoot when rain played spoilsport.

Finally Vishnu and Ajith decided to shift location to the cooler climes of Bengaluru. For the last few days they have been shooting in the garden city.

The film which has Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara, Taapsee in the lead with music byYuvan Shankar Raja is said to be a mass action entertainer.

The latest news making the rounds is that the film is a cross between the Bollywood hit Race and Vishnu’s own Telugu film Paanja with Pawan Kalyan!

Ajith’s Next Is Not A Remake Of Race

The latest rumour making the rounds is that Ajith’s upcoming film with filmmaker Vishnuvardhan, is inspired by the Bollywood blockbuster Race.

The movie has Arya as the other protagonist, and stunning Nayanthara playing Ajith’s romantic interest.

Rubbishing the rumours, a close source from the production house of the untitled film cleared the air. “When Ajith and Vishnu decided to join hands once again for producer A.M. Ratnam, initially it was suggested that we remake Race, as there was not much time to write a fresh script.

But, that idea was brushed aside and Vishnu sat with writers Suba (Suresh and Balakrishnan) and came up with a brilliant script. So, this one is new, with no traces of Race in it,” the source explained.

Insiders divulged more info about Ajith’s character. Thala will be seen in a role with grey shades, which is touted to be much bigger than the one he essayed in Mankatha. That apart, we also hear that Ajith continues his ‘salt n pepper’ look in the new film as well, and is sporting a pair of spectacles.

After a frantic schedule in Mumbai, the unit has shifted to Bengaluru where a part of the story unfolds. It’s been hectic for the last few days in the Garden City, with Atul Kulkarni and Mahesh Manjrekar who play the baddies, joining the shoot from today, a unit hand disclosed.

Bengaluru had to go home disappointed as the police sent them back home
following a commotion outside the sets of Ajith's upcoming film


All those Kollywood fans who were in the vicinity of the malls on MG
Road on Thursday morning had a huge surprise in store for them.
Kollywood star Ajith and Nayanthara were shooting for their upcoming
untitled film directed by Vishnuvardhan in close proximity. And when
Ajith's fans gathered at the shooting spot to get a glimpse of the
actor, it resulted in a huge commotion. Fans tried to jump over the gate
of the shooting spot and some even got on top of the vehicles. In the
process, vehicles were damaged.

According to the Halasuru
station police inspector, HK Mahananda, "The film shoot was under way
and Ajith's fans had come to see him on Thursday afternoon. Some of them
climbed on the vehicles and in the process vehicles were damaged. When
the situation got out of hand, the police had to intervene to clear the
mob."

Meanwhile when we got in touch with a source from the
unit, he said, "The situation was under control immediately and hence,
the shoot went on without disruption. No property from the set was
damaged."

The film also has Arya and Tapsee in the lead.

The actress is playing a hard-nosed journo in Ajith’s next with Vishnuvardhan.
Suman Ranganathan, who was last seen in 1995 in Udhavum Karangal, makes her comeback to Tamil films with director Vishnuvardhan’s next. “It has been such a long time since I last acted in a Tamil film and Tamil comes very easy to me because I have been talking it all my life,” says the Bangalore-based actress, who is thrilled about bagging this role.
“I play a hard-nosed journalist named Ramya. She is very powerful and can be at places not many can be at. It was just the kind of character that I was waiting for to return to Tamil films,” says Suman, who landed this role while she was holidaying in Bali. “I got a call from the team when I was in Bali. I told them that I would come back and listen to the script, but they narrated the gist over the phone and I loved it,” says she.
The actress is also excited that she got to shoot with a good ensemble cast. “I shot for the film on Saturday in Bangalore. It was great to be on the sets as there’s a fabulous star cast and crew,” she ends.

THE FIRST TIME EVER FOR AN AJITH FILM: VISHNUVARDHAN

Director Vishnuvardhan has said that his film will be Ajith’s first ever to have some great computer graphics. Vishnu has said that he will be using some extraordinary CG for the film that has Ajith in the lead.

Ajith fans are going to be stunned with the CG works in this film, stated Vishnuvardhan. The film also has a bevy of stars including Arya, Nayanthara, Taapsee, Kishore, Suman Ranganathan and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for this flick.

Apart from acting in front of the camera, looks like Nayanthara has been taking her role behind it seriously as well.

Well-informed sources tell us that the actress has been doubling up as an assistant to Vishnuvardhan while shooting for her film with Ajith.

A source says, “Nayanthara is curious about the process of filmmaking. While directing a film on her own is definitely not on cards as of now, she nevertheless wants to learn everything about the industry. She has been asking Vishnu and a couple of other directors with whom she has worked in the recent past about the art. This time, she has gone a step ahead and has insisted that she be included in the team of Vishnu’s assistant directors (ADs)!”

We hear that as soon as Nayan finishes shooting for her scenes, she joins the ADs and helps them out. In fact, she has been literally calling the shots with clapboard for scenes that doesn’t involve her.

While Nayan was unreachable for comment, Vishnu tells us that Nayan has been principally included in his team of assistant directors as well.

Meanwhile, the source adds, “After shooting in Mumbai and Bangalore, the unit will be heading to Mumbai again by the end of this month for a long schedule.”

Ajith's next: First look soon

The first look of Ajith's next venture, being directed by Vishnuvardhan, will be out soon. And what more? Along with the first look posters, the title of the movie will also be unveiled.

"Vishnuvardhan has been maintaining the title of the film as a closely guarded secret, as he would like to surprise Ajith fans by revealing it along with the first look stills," sources say.

The film has Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. Shooting was on in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, before the unit took a break.

Currently, Ajith is undergoing a tough gym regime to get a new look, as he is doing more than one get-ups in the movie. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who gave chartbusters for Ajith in 'Billa', 'Billa 2' and 'Mankatha'.

Over the last week rumors have been spreading about the role Thala is playing in his project with Vishnu Vardhan. Many websites have gone on to publish unconfirmed reports that Thala will play the role of a computer hacker. However, sources close to the unit confirmed that this is not so. Though they remained secretive about the role Thala is donning in the movie, they clearly refuted the rumor about him being a hacker.

The shooting of Thala’s next began in Mumbai on the 14th of August and the unit seems to have hit the road running by canning high octane fight sequences over the last two days. Stephen Richter of Billa 2 fame, who was responsible for conceptualizing one of the most momentous fight sequences in Tamil Cinema (the helicopter stunt), is working with Thala on this project as well. As always Thala is determined to give his all to entertain his fans and all we can do is to remember him in our prayers.

There is another interesting piece of info about the Ajith - Vishnuvardhan project. This is regarding a new star assistant director who has made her debut with this project. She is none other than Keerthana - that celebrated child prodigy who wowed audiences in Mani Ratnam's Kannathil Muthamittal.

She joined the unit recently and gave the clap for a shot featuring Ajith. The actor himself later went and congratulated the young Keerthana on her first day and she was understandably elated.

Billa 2's action sequences were among the notable highlights in the movie and Stephen Richter was the man who was responsible for the dangerous helicopter stunt in the climax. Now he is working in the upcoming Ajith flick as well, directed by Vishnuvardhan.

The intense fight scenes may be expected to get carried over to this movie as well given Ajith's reputation as a true daredevil when it comes to doing his stunts on his own.

Arya to join Ajith

The next schedule of Vishnuvardhan’s untitled project, starring Ajith in the lead, will begin on September 10th. Arya, who was shooting for Selvaraghavan’s Irandam Ulagam in Georgia, has returned home and will join the team on the above mentioned date.

Rana Daggubatti has completed his part in the film. With Nayanthara and Keerthana Parthipan assisting director Vishnuvardhan, the film is shaping up well under the cinematography of PS Vinod and Sreekar Prasad’s editing.

Taapsee says that Ajith is simple

Taapsee has started working on Vishnuvardhan's multistarrer with Ajith, Nayanthara and Arya. The actress says that despite the huge star cast there are no ego hassles and there is a great vibe on the sets. She revealed that the director has given every character due importance and they will all be memorable so there is no pressure on any one.

Taapsee said it was hard to believe but Ajith despite being such a huge star is very simple and went out of his way to make sure that she was comfortable. Ditto Arya and Nayanthara. Ajith does the unbelievable again

Ajith is known for his daredevil stunts. Who could possibly forget the frightening helicopter sequence in Billa 2? Now we hear that he has shot for another ‘hanging sequence’ for the untitled Vishnuvardhan project. But not from a chopper this time.

The actor had to hang upside down for around 12 hours for an action sequence in the film. Ajith rejected the offer of doing the sequence with a body double and hung upside down from 8pm to 8am, with just few short breaks now and then.

Vishnuvardhan is said to be in a state of shock, seeing the flexibility and stamina level of Ajith and we hear that the director is very happy with the outcome.
