IMHO, I dont think Kamal can be as menancing as Raghuvaran, Rajni, Sathyaraj and Prakashraj alike, it just does not work for him.

negative role does not NECESSARILY mean "motta boss" roles or gangster and cheapo villains. Role of avargaL in rajni was a saddistic char. Sivakumar was a selfish char. Negative neverthless. He underplayed his role and definitely convincing. May be since rajni was playing along, sivakumar couldn't shine :D

somehow "avargaL" is the first movie which I recollect, yeah moondru mudichu was great too. May be I believe real villains are too choclatey and sweet grinning right next to u and doing all possible jobs which motta bosses cannot do :) I consider such roles REALISITIC.

He doesn't do needless gimmicks which others do without fail. Infact only gimmicks play main role for others. He will do only things which the character/script demands. But within that scope itself he plays century! I wud like to add the micheal of MMKR too.

SollathAn ninaikkiren (womaniser), Punnagai Mannan (seriously, he's an a*****e arrogant pr**, till Revathi charms him), Nizhal Nijamagiradhu (almost a stalker), Ilamai Oonjaladugirathu (girlfriend cheater), Sagar Sanggamam (bitter, missed-the-bus former dancer wannabe masquerading as cultural critic, oh, an alcoholic too), Neeya (Snake-killer, which is not a bad thing for me), NinaithAle, Inikkum (self-centred lead vocal who almost destroyed his band for the love of the girl, which is kinda like every rock band ever), Tappu TAlanggal (cameo as prostitute visiting sEtt-u), Kadal Meengal (responsible for a bastard child), Vazhvey mAyam (he made me cry, a nine year old kid, okay :sad:), Toongathe Thambi toongathe (drug addict), Naayagan (come on, you know), Apoorva Sahotharargal (Appu is not cute little feller), MMKR (Michael, the blade in tongue thingy still gives me the creep), Hey Ram (he was trying to assasinate Ghandi, remember), VirumAndi (who's story you believe?).

And I have not seen the Malayalam and Hindi films. Who knows? Vonly Sigappu Rojakkal and Alavandhan it seems :roll:

No RC, it was not in response to you. Ithu remba kAlamA nadanthirukku. Negative-nA udane that two films. If you include Chanakkiyan, then all the avenging characters will have to come in (Diary, Sabatham, etc).

Menacing is easy. But to be shrewd cruel, the kind of characters you want to avoid in real life, now, that is tough. In that department. right now, only NT/KH/RK have excelled. The others, including my esteemed Sathyaraj, has certain elements of artificialness in them. Let's not even talk about monotone Raghuvaran (Okay, I think I have offended about three quarter Tamizh population in the world).

Some real life chars are so perfectly suited to such faces, just a normal neighbour face and menacing things they do, can never be digested. "indha poonaiyum paal kudikkuma" faces. A woman can understand such how REAL VILLAINS behave. Very well portrayed by BG.
