BM,
Are those 2 pics from the CD cover (front & back) ?
Epadiyum CD vanganum, if those are the prints then super, but title-la koncham small-a ezhuthi irukalam !
DSP yet again proves to be IR fan. The way he registers the tunes with the melody is awesome. Kannum Kannum is awesome, so is Nalavanu Solluvanga. The other 2 he had followed Vedivelu "Adikira adi-il thara thapataigal kizhinthu thonga vendama". Like it !

From the makers.
Tiny leaks can never empty an ocean , and instances of leaked tracks don"t discourage the the hard core Ajith fans who had been waiting to hear the roar of the Veeram songs !!! The element of interest and expectations on the songs is all set to clear the misty skies .The official launch will be on 20th as scheduled and Radio mirchi will air the songs on that day from 8 a.m on wards . Music director Devi sri prasad will team up with the director Siva to explain the making of the tunes . This will be the launching pad for the promotions too !

"THERE ARE TWO DIMENSIONS TO AJITH IN VEERAM" - VEERAM SIVA
Ever since Thala Ajith’s Veeram was announced, director Siva of ‘Siruthai’ fame has been carrying the hopes and expectations of the numerous Thala fans spread across the world. This cinematographer turned director has had a successful run so far.
Siva learnt cinematography at the Film Institute and passed out with a gold medal. He always aspired to become a director but started his career as a video editor and between 1994 and 99, he worked in numerous Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam serials as that was the time of the big satellite television boom in India.
He considers cinematographer Jayanan Vincent as his mentor and joined him in 1999. After assisting him for 2 years, Siva did his first film as a cameraman in Malayalam in 2001. After doing 14 films as a cameraman, Siva directed his first Telugu film, Souryam in 2008. Veeram is his 5th film as a director.
With Ajith playing a full-blown rural role, the expectations from Veeram are that of a clean mass entertainer. With the film just a few weeks away from release, we met the director at the Vijaya Productions office for a freewheeling interview on what to expect from Veeram.
http://behindwoods.com/creatives/intro/images/veeram-siva.jpg
Do you feel the pressure of living up to the humongous expectations, that too after Arrambam’s handsome success?
There is no pressure at all. We started Veeram before Arrambam’s release and we were clear about the final product and of course the expectations surrounding it. We filmed based on the script and Ajith Sir totally believed in the script. He makes sure that there is no pressure and just advises us to film the movie based on the script.
How well has Ajith fitted into the simple shirt-dhoti rural look after donning suits and stylish clothes in most of his recent movies?
Ajith Sir wanted to break the serious urban pattern. I suggested comedy and a simple shirt-dhoti look to him. Ajith’s humorous side hasn’t been projected much till now and I wanted to show that side of Ajith Sir. Vinayagam is a jolly, no-holds-barred character. He approved my suggestion straightaway.
There was no interference whatsoever and even his suggestions would be very polite. He firmly believes that the director is the captain of the ship. According to me, he is a fantastic and versatile actor. He can do just about anything. As a director, I say that he is a great performer. He had no difficulties in changing-over and was very apt for the rural role.
In the very first schedule we filmed him doing a ‘kuthu dance’ and he came across as the darling of the masses (‘erangi adichaaru’). From ducati to a bullock cart, he can carry just about anything on screen.
About the much-loved but regularly seen ‘salt and pepper’ look of Thala
Ajith Sir is playing his age and the salt and pepper look was very apt for the script of Veeram. Vinayagam is basically someone who doesn’t care about his looks and is unkempt. There was a mutual consent for the ‘salt and pepper’ look from everyone. But there is another mustached look that Ajith would carry, as his role has two dimensions.
We will be seeing Ajith romancing on screen after a long time. How has the Ajith Tamanna chemistry panned out?
The chemistry would be something new. Audience would root for them to join. Anyone would fall in love with Vinayagam, as he is such a character. The romance would be convincing and there would be no ‘running around trees’. It would be apt for his age.
A ‘pakka’ package for Ajith fans and a Pongal treat for families
Ajith has done stunts, dances and has indulged in romance too. It would be a wholesome package for his fans. The surprise element is that he would be donning a coat-suit in one particular scene.
Veeram would have all the elements that go into a perfect Pongal treat for the family audiences.
Will Santhanam repeat the Siruthai magic in Veeram?
Santhanam was very involved and happy working in Veeram. He generally refers to Ajith Sir as ‘annan’ and does the same in the movie too. His character would be a major highlight for sure.
Were you inspired by any other film while scripting Veeram?
This is an original script and though there have been other stories based on brothers, this will be new. I spent about 8 months on the script of Veeram and the movie would be a peek into the life of Vinayagam. I have made sure that such a treatment hasn’t been seen before.
“Fights to thrill and not to terrorize”
There would be no blood in the action scenes and I believe the film would be suitable for all. I respect the censor board a lot and they have been doing a sensible job.
There are a lot of fights in the movie but they have been designed to thrill and not to terrorize. There would be grandeur and lot of emotions in the fights.
There is nothing gory about the movie and the USP of the movie would be its comedy. The first half would be a total laugh riot.
The much-hyped train fight sequence
We shot the train stunt sequence for a period of 9 days and there were sleepless nights for me during this period. I was scared to even say ‘Action’. Ajith Sir has already undergone a lot of operations but he didn’t accept my suggestion for a body double. It takes a lot of guts to hang out of a train speeding at 90 kmph atop a 300 feet bridge.
“My Veeram team”
In DSP’s music, there are 5 songs in the album including an extra-ordinary theme music. The opening song would be westernized and there would be dialogs interspersed with the lines. There is a lilting melody too. Ajith Sir is very happy after listening to all the songs. DSP himself is very satisfied and he has given all ‘straight tunes’ for Veeram.
This is my 4th film with DOP, Vetrivel. Editor Kasi Viswanathan has already claimed that the movie would be a superhit after seeing the rushes. He has made sure that Veeram would be a pacy ride with a run time of around 2 hours and 25 minutes.
Three stunt masters have worked in the movie - Silva, who has done the interval stunt, Ganesh, who has done the climax stunt and Pammal Ravi.
I always believe that cinema is all about teamwork, involving around 250 to 300 members. That’s why I always wish to have it as ‘Siva and Team’ in the credits of all my movies.
A big honour to work for Vijaya Productions
Vijaya Productions have already done more than 100 films and they are a traditional firm with strong values. It is a big honor to work for such producers. They wanted a commercial entertainer and I devised such a script. Now the movie has come out perfectly according to the script.
They are sensible and at the same time spend lavishly if it is required. Their planning is immaculate.
I have directed 5 films till date, and there has been no interference from any producer or hero. My script narration is clear and there is no scope for any ambiguity from my side. In addition to a vocal narration, I also record the narration for the reference of my complete team.
“Ready for more with Ajith”
Ajith Sir likes me, guides me and is like an ‘Anna’ to me. He has such a positive influence on people around him and sends across positive vibes to the entire unit. Thanks to his guidance, I lost around 50 kgs with diet control.
I learnt to stand up and greet anyone that I meet, from Ajith Sir as he does this to even a light boy, leave alone a big producer. He respects ladies a lot and you can see that in his simple gestures like opening the door for them while they get into a car. He loves to cook and personally serves everyone.
All the nice words that the world has to say about him are totally true and this 1.5 year journey has been great. Ajith Sir is a fantastic human being. And of course, I am definitely ready for more films with him
Are you excited about the prospect of Jilla and Veeram getting ready to release on the same day? This Ajith vs Vijay contest is happening after 7 long years rite?
Both the films should succeed. This is not a cricket match and here both teams can win. I am very close to Vijay Sir and we were living in the same area. Nesan was my senior in film school and I wish that Jilla becomes a big success too. With respect to Veeram, we were clear from the beginning about a Pongal release and with Jilla also releasing on the same day, I am very happy. I, as an audience, will happily see both films on Pongal day.
What next?
I generally don’t plan my next outing. In the 15 years that I have been in the industry, I have never planned.
But I always make sure that I complete my films within budget and schedule. Veeram was shot within 110 days according to schedule.
Everyone should be making profits out of my movie and I always keep the market value in mind. My grand dad always used to say that films should be made to entertain the whole family and keep people happy. Till now I have done that with a 100% strike rate. Veeram would mark my 5th success, hopefully.

Well, an epic mirror reflection scene was from Son of Frankenstein (1939) where Boris Karloff who acts as the monster watches for the first time his reflection in the mirror with his reanimated eyes. That whole scene was about two & a half minutes long. A pure joy to watch both for the acting as well as for the cinematography. Then came a series of films which gave homage to this scene, the best of-late being Ghost Rider, The Machinist, etc., where the protagonists see their transformed self reflection for the 1st time in the mirror. Then you got films like Matrix, Fight club, Children of Men, etc., where mirror reflection is used to show an important aspect of the film. Vincent Cassel gives some powerful and memorable performance before the mirror in movies like La Haine, Sheitan & Mesrine.
And yeah you got our Endhiran - Mother of Epic scenes.
[Add in Thillu Mullu & Jhonny too]
Here is a sample collection of Mirror reflection stills from various movies :

This still in Veeram, even though I do not know the motive, falls under the same lines. The whole set up is terrific including the lighting, the model and the Black n White shades drawn into the photo. The make up, esp. the hair do is well done to bring in the depth. There is a picture within the picture - if you cover one side of Ajith's face and see the other. The Mirror reflection is captured neatly by rightly choosing the perfect angle, aligning the objective and the timely click.
Yes, that's a very good still that I had come across in a long time. Good job guys!

LoL, I could have continued but keeping in mind the audience interests I kept it, well, a bit short.
Importance of Film Posters/Stills (a short take) :
Anyone who had covered "communications" in their academics, be it HR, marketing or management would understand the importance of photographs and posters. For others - simply put : Source => Transmission (encode) => Receiver (decode) => Destination.
So, Film posters and stills have much bigger importance than the trailers (oflate the teasers). They are the ones which motivate an audience to catch the forth coming attraction. And the medium, the transmission part is quite simple without any technological need - for instance a wall is enough. In some cases, the posters can give a huge hype for the trailer. I am well aware that most of us ignore a poster and use the motion picture trailers as the source. But if you get deep into the ideas framed in the posters/stills you can get the whole aspect of the film. If inteligently used, it promotes the film in a grand way increasing the curiosity.
Rajini with a rose along with the title Endhiran - Thats the peek of curiosity. You find out Rajini is Robot and Rose is love.
Any poster promotes something or the other and there are so many ways the source can be interpreted. But at the end the basic idea is to decipher what the film maker wants us to see in these posters. In TFI, mostly the icon, the main actor, is used in the posters which has a greater reach. But if the same icon poster is done intelligently, you can get the idea behind the movie. But Billa 2 promoted simply with the title design thats because Billa got registered perfectly with the audience. You see there is a structure to and in it. Another highlight in Veeram is the music CD cover where you got the model posing as though he is enjoying the music and groving to its rythm. How else you can pictorially represent an Audio CD keeping intact the iconic representation to inspire the audience.
Not only that, a poster is a registration. It follows a pattern of a given era. The colors, make-up, models, title design, etc., looking at which you can easily say which period the film belongs to. Plus it saves intact the cultural aspect of the given period. Take Muratukalai wall poster and see the one with Veeram. The whole village set up has changed. Ten years from now, Veeram would look like a cult era. We got to safe gaurd the posters/stills in one way or the other as its the best representation of a films work which holds the main participants names & the movie theme in just one colorful view. And there are quite easy to collect and store, just need extra passion and some room.
I read posters/stills and its fun. Sometimes I see TFI posters and keeping in mind the joy of fans I don't talk much - it may put them down (I did a mistake talking about VR2 - hope I won't repeat it). At times I come across some excellent work which certainly merits an appreciation.
And I hope you too will try to follow the patterns in posters and stills, its not only fun but opens up a new path for discussions.

Nallavannu Solvaangahttp://behindwoods.com/images/thumbs-up.jpg
Singers: Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrics: Vivega
The opening track has already been made famous through the teaser and the entire track manages to sustain the mass appeal for the most part, with solid support from Vivega’s lyrics. The core instrumental of the synth hook and the guitar riff is most certainly the highlight of the track and is used intelligently by DSP. The fact that the track features some dialogues by Ajith should add to the entertainment of his fans.
Ival Dhaanahttp://behindwoods.com/images/thumbs-up.jpg
Singers: Sagar, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Vivega
A lively duet where DSP continues to milk the most from a pretty catchy hook – it features in different instrumental hues as well as a vocal melody. The well rounded production and adept vocal performances pushes this tune higher.
Thangame Thangame
Singers: Adnan Sami, Priyadarshini
Lyrics: Vivega
Again, very much in DSP territory here and the listener can see himself predicting how the track is going to pan out – not to mention that the track carries familiar strains of some of his earlier tunes. The composer, as he so very well does, keeps the tempo up and ensures that the mood is peppy. There are some impressive instrumental moments like the flute progression early on, but its few and far between. Adnan Sami’s Tamil diction is acceptable and the singers perform to their potential.
Jing Chakaan Jing Chakaan
Singers: Magizhini Manimaaran, Pushpavanam Kuppusamy
Lyrics: Vivega
Those who find themselves enjoying DSP’s danceable Telugu songs like ‘Kevu Keka’ and ‘Ringa Ringa’ will know what to take-away from a track like this. While this one does fall marginally short in caliber when compared to the aforementioned two tracks, the formula and intention is very much the same and the execution comes easy to DSP as he pushes all the right buttons to get the foot tapping and body moving. Pushpavanam Kuppusamy and Magizhini Manimaaran are good choices for singers.
Ratha Gajahttp://behindwoods.com/images/thumbs-up.jpg
Singers: Anand, Deepak, Jagadish, Koushik
Lyrics: Vivega
A fiery tune which had also introduced itself early in one of the teasers comes as the album closer. The melody does pack a punch and the execution is equally thunderous with the percussions and the horns. The opening bars set up the intensity very well and DSP holds it together with strong instrumentation. The vocals in unison are excellent and they perform with intent.
Verdict: DSP cooks up a fiery masala fare for Ajith fans !

Veeram - Thumping and daring
IndiaGlitz [Friday, December 20, 2013]Comments (http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/musicreview/18112.html#disqus_thread)
http://img.indiaglitz.com/tamil/musicreviews/veeram_music201213_m.jpgAfter a Thala Diwali, comes the Thala Pongal for all the eager fans and here's a sneak peek into the movie, through its songs. Devi Sri Prasad is back with his trademark energy with a fresh set of five songs, to put you on your feet and get them tapping. Director Siva has almost wrapped up the whole of 'Veeram' shooting, and as they progress into post-production, we present you with an analysis of the musical magic that DSP has worked on Ajith's upcoming release.
1. Nallavannu Solvaanga Listen here (http://play.raaga.com/tamil-album-Veeram-T0003804)
Voices: Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrics: Vivega
Those who watched 'Veeram' teaser can instantly recognize this song. Although 'Veeram' is story based on the rural country side, the opening song of the film's album is hip and urbane in every beat. With the signature music in the background, you can almost imagine a suave Ajith walking in style. This track sounds best in thumping speakers, as the underlying beats, guitar, trumpet and backing keys are high on bass. It is not until after half the song is over that the country feeling peeps in with a shift to rural beats. 'Nallavannu Solvaanga' is a happy-go-lucky introduction song with a picture perfect pose. The song ends with the famed one-liner of 'Veeram'; but it is not the only one to cling on to, for the song is full of lines with an attitude which do not fail to bring a smile.
2. Ival Dhaana Listen here (http://play.raaga.com/tamil-album-Veeram-T0003804)
Voices: Sagar, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Vivega
Amid the popular trend that romantic duets must either be melodious or racy, or both, this one here is a trend setter, as it is neither, yet enjoyable in its very own rural touch. Starting and ending with a sweet chorus, the song uses captivating Tabla, and is set in Qawwali style, interspersed with a mix of urban and rural music. While the background music grabs our attention instantly, the voices in the fore are quite in sharp contrast - the background being heavy and zealous, while the voices are lilting, soft and soulful. In all, 'Ival Dhaana' is a beautiful track full of charming lyrics that don't miss a beat, beats that are in perfect sync with rhythm, rhythm that is enchanting, and enchanting voices that make the song a beautiful experience.
3. Thangame Thangame Listen here (http://play.raaga.com/tamil-album-Veeram-T0003804)
Voices: Adnan Sami, Priyadarshini
Lyrics: Vivega
This one here is yet another romantic duet - a peppy number with earthen flavour. 'Thangame Thangame' is a comeback song for Adnan Sami, who has not been active in Tamil circuit for a while now, and it is a pleasure listening to him sing in his trademark stylish voice. Apart from string backing, this track also uses flute in places. Throughout the first half of the song and its concluding portions, echo has been added to Priyadarshini's voice to create depth. A set of four lines are repetitive through the song, and it is with these four lines that the song winds up to shrill flute and the thumps coming to a sudden halt.
4. Jing Chakaan Jing Chakaan Listen here (http://play.raaga.com/tamil-album-Veeram-T0003804)
Voices: Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, Magizhini Manimaaran
Lyrics: Vivega
Just like the previous track, this song also begins with a folk recital, before passing on to compelling beats and whistles. Coming across as a duet where the man and woman pull each other's leg in a friendly yet taunting manner in the beginning, the song transforms into the man cajoling the woman in the second stanza. After all the lighthearted conversation-like flow, the song wraps up on a happy ending with whistles and keys backed by beats. While Pushpavanam Kuppusamy entertains with his trademark standalone voice, Magizhini's is a refreshing and soulful voice, one to look out for. In all, 'Jing Chakaan' is a haapy-go-lucky folk recital of romantic duet.
5. Veeram Listen here (http://play.raaga.com/tamil-album-Veeram-T0003804)
Voices: Anand, Koushik, Deepak, Jagadish
Lyrics: Vivega
This is one track which we have been hooked to from the time of 'Veeram's' first look teaser. Throughout a chorus recital of courage, bravery and dare, 'Veeram' theme music is in sharp contrast to the lighthearted mood that the previous songs have set. Further, the contrast also comes in the purity in the richness of Tamil in lyrics. Electric guitar and rolling drum beats, with quality lyrics, this 3-minute long chorus is an enlivening and rejuvenating track that instills valor, and is the mantra of heroism.
Two tracks completely folk, two with an urban tryst, and a song full of daring courage sum up to an album full of josh and vigour, with the strong subtlety of soulfulness. With choice lyrics and lively beats in all songs, 'Veeram' album makes for great listening experience. Although there is no melody perse, the absence of one is not felt hard and deep, among all the foot tapping numbers. 'Veeram' is out in stores now - grab your copy, turn the volume high, get up and dance!

All songs except theme sounds like songs I heard before. Song are not bad, but they could have been better. With the stardom of Ajith, you would expect MDs to work their buttocks off for his movies. DSP recycled his tunes from other movies and made small changes:
Nallavannu Solluvanga: (Singam Singam Durai Singam - Singam)
Ival Thaana: (Orae Oru Vaarthaiyale - Vengai)
Thangame Thangam: (Kaathadi Pola - Maayavi)
Jing Chakan: (Ringa Ringa - Aarya2)
Veeram Theme: blank

Ok listen to the songs with my earphones. Love the album. Don't know when I last like almost all songs in an Ajith film album. My pick is kannum kannum and opening song. Jinchakka is frolic type of song. Would be fun with good visuals. Thangame is my least favourite.

Veeram Songs
For a change lets look at the lyrics from Veeram. About the music, well many things have been said about it, I just wish to add - Percussion instruments were thoroughly teared. Liked the bass introduced in Thangame Thangame song. So, on the lyrics front, Viveka has come up with some excellent lines - and for Thamana, he sees her as a Rainbow is very clear and the 3 instances and ways he induces rainbow in the lyrics is excellent. The poetry is great too, and that's what helps you to retain the whole song, of coarse well aided by the melodies.

Thala’s ‘Veeram’ to be released with ‘U’ certificate
Ajith right from his times of ‘Billa’ the actor has switched a right button all the way.
Now the whole of industry is hinting the actor to reach the topmost position in Kollywood.
The actor is gearing up for his latest venture ‘Veeram’ directed by Siva, is all set for the big Pongal contest with Vijay’s ‘Jilla’.
The film also features the like of Tamannah, Vidharth, Bala, Santhanam and Pradeep Rawat.
While the film went through its censor test, and has cleared it with a clean ‘U’.
And the music of DSP has been received pretty well by Thala’s fans.
Looks like Ajith just can’t do anything wrong at the moment.

Thala-Thalapathy fan bases boost business
Dec 26, 2013
While it’s a known fact that the box office rejoices with each Thala and Thalapathy release, it’s not the only beneficiary from every new Vijay or Ajith film. The usually dormant music business is nourished by such high profile releases.
Despite the advent of the digital revolution, the physical CD sales of Thalaivaa and Arrambam this year have been extremely healthy and it is purely a result of the Thala-Thalapathy fan bases which throng to stores to own a copy of their idol’s album.
The day Veeram’s audio was released, Coimbatore Ajith fans held an audio release function of their own at Archana Theatre. Madurai also witnessed scenes like it was a first day first show with Vijay fans and Ajith fans engaging in extravagant celebrations.
With the music of Veeram and Jilla arriving in quick succession the music industry is cherishing the fact that 2013 is ending on a high. Popular stores in Chennai and Pondicherry have seen huge demands for both the albums. According to sources in the Landmark store, the pre-release demand of both albums had required them to place fresh orders, which too found takers almost immediately.
The store manager of Tic Tac, a popular audio outlet in Pondy, points out that the sales have been driven by particular songs from each album. He says “Ajith’s intro song ‘Nallavannu Solvaanga’ from Veeram has become a hit amongst the fans and likewise ‘Kandangi’ sung in Vijay’s own voice has won over his legions of fans”.
An official from Junglee music, label for Veeram, has revealed that the tracks have been performing exceptionally well in the mobile downloads space as well recording close to 800 downloads a day with ‘Nallavannu Solvaanga’ leading the pack and ‘Ratha Gaja’ coming in second.
Talking about the response to Jilla’s audio to Behindwoods, composer Imman said “I want to thank all the Vijay fans for the love they have shown for the music. I was a bit nervous in the beginning to make Vijay sing a melody fearing if his fans would be open to the idea but now I’m jubilant seeing the way ‘Kandangi’ has been received. Not just ‘Kandangi’ but even the other melody ‘Verasa Pogailye’ has gone down well with the masses.”
When asked if he was surprised how well the melodies have gained acceptance Imman offered his take by saying, “After Kumki’s success I decided to stick to my strength in melodies despite Jilla being a mass entertainer because I believe that melodies always win and it will always stand the test of time, and it also promotes quality music. Vijay too has been very happy with the music and he invited me over to his place after the audio release and congratulated me. There’s a lot of positive vibes around this film now and I’m happy to know that my music has played its part in it.”
Jilla director, Neason, told Behindwoods that he was always confident that ‘Kandangi’ would be a sure shot hit and he felt that Vijay’s cute dance moves, choreographed by Dinesh master, for ‘Verasa Pogailye’ would make for another winner but he feels that each subsequent listen to the album would fetch a new favorite song. About Vijay’s dance moves in the other songs Neason said “Both ‘Jingunamani’ and ‘Eppo Mama Treat’ will be a festival for Vijay fans and we are certain that it will have people dancing along in the theatres.”
Director of Veeram, Siva, expressed his gladness over the fact that album was declared a hit straightaway upon release. He said that he’s been travelling in buses and autos to get a sense of the reach of the songs and is pleased with the fact that the music has been spread evenly across various classes.
“I set out to make a film for the whole family and the same approach implied for the music as well, and that was my brief to DSP. He and his team have worked hard day and night along with lyricist Viveka to ensure that the songs could be enjoyed by people of all ages. The visual highpoints for the songs would undoubtedly be Ajith, as he’s danced like never before. He performed with a level of happiness that encapsulates the entire tone of the film.”, said Siva.
Lyricist Viveka said he received clear cut instructions while writing Ajith’s intro song in Veeram, “I did have Ajith’s fans in mind while writing the song but I was told clearly not to use any ‘Thala’ references or any lines that bordered around overpraise. I’ve written for an Ajith film long after my debut ‘Nee Varuvayenna’ and the response has been overwhelming with fans sending me a lot of goodwill messages. ”
Apart from contributing to all the tracks in Veeram, Viveka has also written three tunes in Vijay’s Jilla, “I had written quite a few hit songs for Vijay such as ‘Daddy Mummy’ and with tracks like ‘Jingunamani’ and ‘Yeppo Mama Treatu’ you could say that such commercial numbers is a specialty of mine. ‘Jingunamani’ especially got Vijay’s attention and he told me that the song would take off big time with the masses.”
It is after several years that Vijay and Ajith albums have arrived at almost the same time and both the soundtracks have achieved to set the film’s agenda straight. They have also managed to go a step further and provide musical moments which have fueled the films expectations even further.

30th December 2013, 11:03 AM
Vijay Sethupathi (if you consider him as a leading hero - to me yes) movies does not have fight scenes irrespective to the genre game, if you agree to omit the petty quarrels (ex. Thenmerku Paruvakathu). As I had said before TFI writes its own genre. Action and its sub-genres cannot justify single handedly a 180 mins runtime Tamil movies. The flavors that a tamil movie offers within it exceed the circle of genres, that no other competitive film industry can even come closer. So whether or not Ajith is "an action Hero", a climax fight is not going to retain this title for him. It depends wholely on the movie and the placement of (electrifying) scenes which serves as indicators that we take back with us as a referential.
Take Badsha for exemple - do you think its the climax fight that did wonders to the movie. Viewers were overwhelmingly content with the transformation scene and they got stuck up there, that the rest of the movie was just a brush up / mash up, just to pump-up the needed attention with Mannick Badsha / Anthony episodes. Maybe Veeram would wind up every action scene pre-interval and post interval it would take another dimension, in the likes of a movie that comes to my mind immediately, Adukalam. Doing such experiments with Ajith now is quite healthy, as myself consider that Ajith is gearing up to reach the status where everyone is going to watch his movie anyway.
Rest is to be seen on 10/01.

Ajith's wholesome package for the masses
The trailer of Veeram was released yesterday as a New Year Special. It was first premiered on Sun TV and was later released in the online platform as well. The trailer has been met with a rousing response from Ajith fans.
A few of the takeaways from the trailer include Ajith's perennially mighty screen-presence, his authoritative dialogues and some powerful stunt scenes. The trailer also showcases some scenes of comedy, revelry, brotherly bonding, romance and a few song snippets too.
In all, Veeram promises to be a wholesome family entertainer with Ajith in a never-seen-before onscreen avatar. Decked in an all-white ethnic attire, Ajith seems to have carried the look really well.
The film is confirmed to release on the 10th of January.

Veeram – Ajith at his bestJan 02, 2014
With Veeram, Ajith drops his urban look and goes Desi. An official pre-release press meet happened today, which was attended by director Siva, composer Devi Sri Prasad, stunt choreographer Silva and the producers. Talking at the event, director Siva promised that the film would be an out and out family entertainer. He added, “It was Ajith who asked me to come up with a commercial entertainer. We worked very hard for 110 days and the final product really makes us all proud. It has also been a long time since we saw Ajith in a rural look and this movie will keep everyone satisfied.”
Siva also revealed that Ajith is the major contributor to the fun elements of the movie. “His comical acts will be really funny.” About the character of Ajith, he said, “He plays Vinayakam, an unkempt, rugged person, who is kind at heart, fun loving and majestic overall.”
The team also unanimously agrees that Ajith is at his best in Veeram. The film is releasing on the 10th of January in more than 400 theaters. The producer also revealed at the meet that Veeram would run for 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Theri mass trailer .. hope siva deliver a hit.. disappoint after know LFS release veeram here... they are well known as the other actor supporter ... the CEO of LFS also close to that actor... since thala will not come for any promotional activities in malaysia may veeram get lesser screens. just wait n c... now our big hope is SIVA only...

Not sure about Chennai. But anjaneya and Thirumala released in the same complex in sivakasi. Usually the entries will be divided between the two with barricades so that both don't clash. Despite that fighting can't be avoided if you know what I mean

By splitting of screens, if you mean 2 shows each for both movies in the same screen, I believe its not going to happen in TN. No theatre owner will take that risk.

I thought freedom meant different theaters in the same complex.
