Chennai, Oct 30: Veteran Tamil actress Manorama has slipped in her bathroom and is hospitalized in Chennai for head injuries. She was already recovering from a knee injury and was out of shooting for many months.

Although she has been put under life supporting systems the doctors are confident that she can be saved.

The comedy actress is in screen for more than five decades. Having come from drama stage to silver screen she has many records un parallel by any other. She has the distinction of acting with all chief ministers of Tamil nadu who came from cinema.

Manorama in her initial stages acted as a heroine but became a comedienne of Tamil screen and is ruling in this category like a queen. She is having a distinction of having acted in most number of films in the world and is holding a Guinness record.

Her role as a record dancer in Thillana Mohanambal with Shivaji Ganesan earned her a pet name jil for some time. But she is passionately called as Aachi for her origin from Chettinad.

The news about her hospitalisation has shocked the entire film industry in Kollywood and everyone is praying for her speedy recovery.

Manorama critical

Comedienne and character artiste Manorama has lost consciousness and is said to be in coma stage. A couple of days ago it was reported that the actress slipped and hurt her head.

According to hospital sources, the veteran actress has suffered a brain hemorrhage and has gone into coma. She is said to in life support system to assist her in breathing. The doctors are monitoring her progress carefully, says a source. With Manorama in a critical condition, visitors are not being allowed to see her.

Several celebrities like Kushboo, UTV’s Dhananjayan, Jayam Ravi and are others are wishing the actress a very speedy recovery.

Chennai, Nov 2 (TruthDive): Veteran actress Manorama sustained head injuries following a slip at home. She was rushed to a private hospital immediately for treatment. Now, she is doing well after she was successfully operated by doctors.

The scan revealed a blood-clot inside the head and also some ‘leakage’ of blood. The team of doctors attending to her has decided to perform a surgery today to cure the same. She was successfully operated by doctors and her blood clot was removed.

Enquiries revealed that the actress is out of critical condition and her vital organs are functioning stable.

Manorama is in good spirits, Boopathy said. ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan, who had been working with Manorama for the past three decades, visited the ailing actress and wished her a speedy recovery. Actress Anushka Shetty too visited the hospital to enquire the progress in the health of Manorama.

Many leading luminaries from Kollywood continue to visit the actress to wish her a speedy recovery. In the meantime, Boopathy said that the doctors have assured that Manorama might be discharged in 2-3 days after today’s surgery.

Earlier, Manorama has been suffering from knee pain and underwent a surgery in Kerala but her mobility was limited. That treatment apparently didn’t fetch the desired result and Manorama was operated upon at a Chennai hospital in order to rid herself of the pain. After the surgery, she was advised rest. She stayed away from facing the camera due to her ill health for quite some time.

The actress has completed 50 glorious years in the tinsel town and has the notable distinction of featuring in the Guinness Book of World Records for acting in the most number of films that any other actor in the world.
