EA was a victim of over hype. Had ARM not given that 'Ellaathukkum Melae' speech, the expectations wouldve been lesser. Also Udhayanidhi's unwanted biz gimmicks. Thuppakki shudnt fall a prey to that.

Vijay has said that the smoking scene in Thuppakki and the posters will be removed. The Thuppakki team drew flak from a section of the society for including scenes that show the star smoking a cigar. Dr Anbumani Ramdas’s wife condemned this vehemently and sought action against Vijay and director AR Murugadoss.
Reacting to all this, the Ilayathalapathy has said that the offending scenes will be removed from the film. He added that it means they are not bowing down to pressure but are heeding to their words for a better society. Vijay is reported to have said that he will take in good things without creating an issue out of it.

On how Kajal wasted Thuppaki team's time!

Our stars are notorious for unscheduled absences and coming in late for shootings. Although the trend is not as rampant in the South Indian film industry, looks like actors like Kajal are ensuring that it is prevalent here as well.
After allotting 2 days call sheet for the Vijay starrer Thuppakki, Kajal Agarwal put in a no show when the entire crew is ready for the dubbing. This without any prior information about her absence. The crew patiently waited for 2 days in vain for her arrival. She, however, notified that she had some emergency cropped up and that she could not make it. Although emergencies are perfectly acceptable, the crew felt that it's only professional to inform them about it. Good point!

Vijay's Thuppaki and Yohan - the similarities

Vijay starrer Thuppakki is nearing completion with just a couple songs to be canned. The shooting of this film, which is being directed by AR Murugadoss, will be wrapped up in June, it is expected.

Soon after this, the Ilayathalapathy will concentrate in the Gautham Menon directed Yohan Adhyayam Ondru. This film was announced last year and finally would commence in July as planned.

As in Thuppaki, Vijay will play a police officer in Yohan as well. The star cast is yet to be finalized for this film.

THUPPAKKI LATEST UPDATE

The latest update on upcoming movie of Vijay's THUPPAKI is that the third schedule has been already completed in Mumbai and the team is back in Chennai, canning some important shots in locales of Chennai.

The team would then take a break and would be moving to some beautiful and exotic foreign locations like Malaysia, Bangkok, and lots more to shoot 3 songs. The Mumbai schedule which got over, had some important action scenes that were shot and Murugadoss has ensured that the movie would have some highlighting and breathtaking fight scenes, which have been never shot in recent movies and earlier Vijay movies too. Almost all shot have been taken in real time using hidden cameras too.

There are just 3 more songs yet to be shot, and Vijay along with lead heroine Kajal would be shaking their legs for those tunes in their next schedule at some beautiful foreign locations. Santosh Sivan, the cinematographer is also excited the way, the movie has turned out to be and has ensured that it would be the most stylish movie ever in Vijay's career.

After this movie, Vijay would starting working with Gautam for YOHAN - ADHYAYAM ONDRU, which would Bourne series style and would have some sequels coming up in future. The musical score would be taken care by Oscar Winner AR Rahman and this combination has already created lots of waves and expectations as it would be completed shot in US.

After Yohan, Vijay would be teaming up with A.L.Vijay for a action movie, and G.V.Prakash would be scoring music for the same.

Thuppaki, is almost nearing completion with just 3 songs remaining to be shot. If things goes right, then the audio is expected to be released in June end or first week of July and the movie is planned to be released in August.

விஜய்யை பாட வைத்து அதனை நமது படத்திற்கு உபயோகிக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்பட்டேன். ஹாரிஸ் சாரும் அந்த பாடலை கம்போஸ் செய்து முடித்தவுடன் விஜய்யை இந்த பாடலை பாட வைக்கலாமா என்று கேட்டார். நானும் நம்ம நினைத்தோம், இவர் கேட்கிறாரே என்று உடனே சரி என்று கூறி விட்டேன். அப்பாடல் கண்டிப்பாக 'துப்பாக்கி' ஆல்பத்தில் ஒரு சிறந்த பாடலாக இருக்கும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தின் கதையினை முதலில் இந்தியில் அக்ஷய்குமார் நடிப்பதாக தான் இருந்தது. ஆனால் விஜய் சாரின் கால்ஷீட் தயாராக இருக்கிறது என்றவுடன் அக்கதையினை விஜய் சார் வைத்து தமிழில் உடனே துவங்கி விட்டேன். இப்படத்தினை முடிந்தவுடன் இதே கதையினை அக்ஷய்குமாரை வைத்து இந்தியில் பண்ண இருக்கிறேன்.

'கஜினி' படத்தினை அடுத்து இந்தியில் ரீமேக் செய்யக் கூடாது என்று நினைத்தேன். ஆனால் அது முடியாமல் போய்விட்டது. " என்று தெரிவித்து இருக்கிறார்.

'கொசுறு' கபாலி : " இந்தி படத்தை முழுக்க முழுக்க சென்னைலயே எடுப்பீங்க தானே? "

AR Murugadoss, who boasts to have completed 60% of the shoot for Thuppakki starring Vijay, recently opened up about his lead actor. The director said that he was completely bowled over by the professionalism of Vijay. “It is not easy when it comes to directing mass heroes. But Vijay proved his versatility by completing almost every shot of his in a single take,” says the Thuppakki director.

Murugadoss also praised Vijay for his sharp sense of humour and rated him on par with Kamal Haasan, pointing out that both actors are brilliant in acting, singing and dancing.

AR Murugadoss, who boasts to have completed 60% of the shoot for Thuppakki starring Vijay, recently opened up about his lead actor. The director said that he was completely bowled over by the professionalism of Vijay. “It is not easy when it comes to directing mass heroes. But Vijay proved his versatility by completing almost every shot of his in a single take,” says the Thuppakki director.

Murugadoss also praised Vijay for his sharp sense of humour and rated him on par with Kamal Haasan, pointing out that both actors are brilliant in acting, singing and dancing.

Vijay injured during Thuppaki shoot

The Ilayathalapathy is currently undergoing treatment for his injured knee...

The latest about the Ilayathapathy is that he injured his knee during the shoot of Thuppaki in Mumbai. It is said that the actor is currently in London for treatment. But Vijay fans needn't worry — the injury is a minor one and the actor should be fine in a week or so.

When contacted, director Murugadoss said, "We were canning an action sequence that required Vijay to jump from a height. When he touched down, his leg slipped a little bit and he hurt his knee in the process. Unfortunately, he wasn't wearing a knee-pad too which might have prevented the injury."

But that didn't deter the actor from completing the scene, we hear. "Yes," confirmed the director, "We finished that particular scene despite the fact that Vijay was in some pain."

To get the injured knee treated, Vijay is currently undergoing treatment. It is learnt that he'll join the Thuppaki crew once he gets well. A source from the film's unit stated, "All that remains is a 4-day schedule of the talkie portion and three songs." After finishing Thuppaki, Vijay has films like Yohan with Gautham Menon and a film with director Vijay lined up.

With four days to go for Vijay's 38th birthday, the demand to release the trailer of his forthcoming Tamil film Thuppakki has reached sky high. The fans of Ilayathalapathy have started pressing on director AR Murugadoss on a social networking site to launch the teaser on the special day of their favourite star.
The buzz in the industry is that people are eagerly waiting for the trailer of Thupaki. There is a lot of discussion going on about the movie. Also, there is unanimous demand from the fans to release the short-video on Vijay's birthday.

Akki in Thuppakki remake?

Speculation is rife that Bollywood Khiladi is all set to star in the remake of A R Murugadoss' Tamil film 'Thuppakki'.
While the original movie is still being shots in parts of Mumbai and Pune, rumour mills are working overtime suggesting a remake is on the cards. Neither Murugadoss or Akshay has confirmed the news. However, if all goes well, the Hindi remake 'Thuppakki' will be Murugadoss' second Bollywood venture and Akki's second remake of a south film as an actor after Prabhu Deva's 'Rowdy Rathore'.

'Thuppakki' is a Tamil action thriller being written and directed by A R Murugadoss. Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay plays an encounter specialist in the movie, while Kajal Aggarwal is the leading actress. The film which is in its production stage is slated for a mid-august release.

Top10cinemas : Vijay starrer Thuppaki, which is directed by AR Murugadoss, is in deep trouble with a court in Chennai banning the filmmakers from using the title. The petition was filed by debut director Ravi Devan, who had assisted Kamal Haasan in various films. In his petition, Ravi Devan had alleged that he had registered the title Kalla Thuppaki in 2009 and the shooting of this film is in progress now. According to Ravi, the title design of his Kalla Thuppaki and Vijay¡¯s Thuppaki are so similar that it could cause undue confusion. Though a complaint was filed at the Producers¡¯ Council, Ravi Devan alleged that no action was taken as Vijay¡¯s dad SA Chandrasekar heads it. Following this, he had knocked at the doors of the court seeking justice and had eventually got it with the court declaring that the filmmakers of Thuppaki is banned from using the title.

Vijay danced to the tunes of Harris Jayaraj with 300 dancers in the background,choreographed by south India’s leading dance master Shobi . The song was picturised atop a 13 bogie train and rails created by art director Sunil Babu.
Ace cameraman Santosh Sivan picturised the song in a different style with camera movement synchronising with Vijay’s dance movement. As per sources, the highlight of this song is going to be Vijay’s dancing.

Behindwoods : Will Thuppakki break Kochadaiyaan's records?

Even before its release, Kochadaiyaan recently broke all the records for having sold at the highest imaginable price to Jaya TV. The satellite rights were recently acquired by Jaya TV that seems to be on an acquiring spree of yet to be released movies. Kochadaiyaan's rates are undisclosed but sources in the know claim that it is very high.

Next in line is Thuppakki and discussions for acquiring the movie is underway. It's highly likely that Jaya TV will lap up the TV rights of Thuppakki as well.

I think Thuppaakki will be the big solo Diwali release. Viswaroopam and Maatran will release before that. Aug and Sep respectively. Ajith's movie with Vishnu will also release late I believe and even if it is ready, Ajith and Vijay will not release their movies together.

And the title Thuppaakki will be apt for a film releasing on Diwali. :)

Thuppaki title issue - fresh petition filed

The producer of Thuppaki, Kalaipuli S Dhanu has filed a fresh petition at the court seeking to vacate the stay on the title. According to the producer, there is no rule that a part of the title of another film cannot be used as title for a film. He gave several examples such as Ee and Naan Ee, Siruthai and Suruthai Puli etc.

The producer also made it clear that the titles Kalla Thuppaki and Thuppaki bear two different meanings and therefore cannot cause any confusion.

Thuppaki, it may be mentioned here, stars Vijay in the lead and is directed by AR Murugadoss.

Siva, I would say my opinion about a movie without any intention of keeping people away from it. Content-kum opening-kum difference irruku yaaru illaena. WE have witnessed it for many movies. See, my "oothikitchu" was nothing related to collections. Apart from you guys (Ajith fans) almost everyone forgot Billa 2 (because of it content). Antha arthathula sonnaen. I am not into box office stuffs. I know it had grand opening.

காஜல் அகர்வால் கால்ஷீட் பிரச்னை செய்வதால் விஜய் பட ஷூட்டிங் தாமதமாவதாக தயாரிப்பாளர் புகார் கூறுகிறார். தமிழில் சூர்யாவுடன் மாற்றான், விஜய்யுடன் துப்பாக்கி படங்களில் நடிக்கிறார் காஜல் அகர்வால். இந்தியில் ஒரு படத்திலும் தெலுங்கில் 2 படங்களிலும் நடிக்கிறார். தமிழ், தெலுங்கு படங¢களில் நடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தபோது, திடீரென வந்த இந்தி வாய்ப்பை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார் காஜல். இதனால் அவரது கால்ஷீட் தேதிகளில் குளறுபடி ஏற்பட்டது. மாற்றான், துப்பாக்கி என 2 படங்களிலும் காஜல் நடிக்க வேண்டிய பாடல் காட்சிகள் பாக்கி உள்ளது. ஆனால் குறிப்பிட்ட தேதிகளில் ஷூட்டிங்கிற்கு காஜல் போகாததால் அந்த பாடல் காட்சிகளை படமாக்க முடியாமல் படக்குழு தவித்ததாம். சூர்யாவுடன் காஜல் டூயட் பாடும் பாடலை மாற்றான் படத்துக்காக வெளிநாட்டில் படமாக்க கே.வி.ஆனந்த் திட்டமிட்டார். இதற்காக கடந்த 2 வாரங்களுக்கு முன் காஜலின் கால்ஷீட் வாங்கியிருந்தார். ஆனால் சொன்ன தேதியில் அவர் வரவில்லை.

இந்தி பட ஷூட்டிங்கிற்கு சென்றுவிட்டார். ஸாரி, கொஞ்சம் அட்ஜெட் பண்ணிக்குங்க என்று மட்டும் காஜலிடமிருந்து பதில் வந்ததாம். இதனால் அந்த பாடல் காட்சியை சென்னை ஸ்டுடியோவிலேயே படமாக்க யோசித்திருக¢கிறார் ஆனந்த். இதேபோல் துப்பாக்கி படத்தில் 2 பாடல்கள் பாக்கி உள்ளது. இதில் பங்கேற்க தனது கால்ஷீட் தேதியை மாற்றி கொடுத்துள்ளாராம் காஜல். இது குறித்து பட தயாரிப்பாளர் தாணு கூறும்போது, துப்பாக்கி படம் தாமதம் ஆவது உண்மைதான். காஜல் கொடுத்துள்ள தேதிகளில் பாடல் காட்சிகளை படமாக்க முடியாத நிலை உள்ளது. இதனால் ஆகஸ்டில்தான் ஷூட்டிங் நடத்த முடியும் என்றார்.
