விஜய் முதன் முறையாக போலீஸ் வேடத்தில் நடித்த படம் 'போக்கிரி'. படத்தில் இறுதிகட்ட காட்சியில் தான் அவர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரி என தெரியவரும். முழுப்படத்திலும் அவர் போலீஸ் அதிகாரியாக நடித்தது இல்லை.

ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் இயக்கி வரும் 'துப்பாக்கி' படம் முழுவதுமே என்கவுண்டர் ஸ்பெஷலிஸ்ட் பாத்திரத்தில் நடித்து வருகிறாராம் விஜய். முதற்கட்டமாக மும்பையில் 40 நாட்கள் படப்பிடிப்பு நடைபெற்றது.

'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தின் முக்கால்வாசி கதை மும்பையில் நடைபெறுவது போன்று அமைத்து இருக்கிறாராம் ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ். இப்படத்திற்காக பெண் பார்க்கும் காட்சியை ஒன்றை படமாக்கி இருக்கிறார்கள். அக்காட்சியில் விஜய் போலீஸ் உடை அணிந்து காஜல் அகர்வாலை பார்க்க போவது போன்று காட்சி அமைத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

தற்போது நடைபெற்று வரும் பெப்ஸி பிரச்னையால் படப்பிடிப்பு தடைப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. இந்நேரத்தில் 'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தில் தனது வேடத்திற்கு ஏற்றவாறு தனது உடம்பை மாற்றி வருகிறாராம்

Ilayathalapathy Vijay seems to have struck a rapport with Harris Jayaraj after the mega success of Nanban .
Now, the actor is all set to croon for asong in his upcoming film Thuppakki under Harris’ baton.
Says Harris: “After I finished composing the song, I knew that Vijay’s voice suited it best and when Itold him about it, he obliged and wasvery excited”.

Cinematographer Santosh Sivan is capturing some daredevil stunt sequences involving Vijay for Thuppaki. The shooting of this film is progressing in Mumbai and the cinematographer using some modern techniques, say sources.

Meanwhile, there is a buzz that AR Murugadoss is looking for a suitable actor play Vijay’s brother in this film. It is said that Vijay is keen on roping in Jai for the role because he resembles him and he had acted as his brother in the film Bhagawati.

Looks like Jai may land in the offer to play Vijay’s brother.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be known as “style king” after the release of AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki.
Producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu is blowing up big money to make it look grand and stylish. The shoot of the film is going on in Mumbai.
Vijay will be playing as an encounter specialist in the film with Kajal Aggarwal playing his lady love. Jai is acting as his younger brother. Jayaram character has shades of grey, while Sathyan will bring the house down with his comedy.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay shot a scene for his AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki in the crowded streets of Mumbai!
Ace cameraman Santosh Sivan was supervising the camera crew for a particular important candid crowd scene. Taking a cue, Vijay went behind the camera and took an instant shot. Later Santosh commented to the unit that it was “perfect shot in sync with the required scene.”
A source in Thuppakki unit confirmed: “On Sunday in crowded Linking Road Bandra, Vijay acted and operated the camera himself. A tricky crowd scene had to be taken quickly while he was enacting a scene, with the unaware public. Our Ilayathalapathy rose to the occasion and in a flash shot the scene while Santosh sir was checking the lights inthe background. There was only onetake as Vijay sir was spotted by the public.”

'Thupaki' first look soon - Film for Aug 15?

Vijay will be showcasing the suave avatar in him to audience through 'Thupaki' that sees him as a cop. The first look of this biggie is touted to be unveiled on Tamil New Years, April 13. It is further said that the makers are planning to release 'Thupaki' on Independence Day, August 15.

AR Murugadoss has reportedly expressed that shooting is taking place in a full swing all day and night and that the film's first look will be out soon. Shoot is currently on in Mumbai and buzz is that the script demands live locations and thus the team is shooting several scenes in live locations with hidden cameras!

Vijay will be seen as an encounter specialist and Kajal as his lady love. Jayaram and Vidyut Jamwal, the newest addition to the country's baddies, play the two villains. Music is by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography is by Santosh Sivan. The team has managed to rope in the top most technicians from the country for the project. Sathyan who was last seen with Vijay in 'Nanban' will provide comic relief in this film as well.

More than half the shoot has been wrapped. The team canned a few songs and scenes in Bangkok and is now shooting some talkies and action sequences in Mumbai.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thuppaki is being shot in Mumbai with the entire team camping there. Director AR Murugadoss is filming a major portion of Thuppaki in various crowded locations in Mumbai. Some gravity defying stunts are being choreographed here. People watching the stunt scenes being shot on the busy locations in Mumbai are stunned by Vijay’s stunts, say sources.
Vijay apparently is doing the stunt scenes without any dupe. This has become the talk of the town and Vijay’s popularity is soaring high, say sources.

7ஆம் அறிவின் போது அளவுக்கதிகமாக பேசியதால் ஏற்பட்ட அசௌக*ரியத்தை முருகதாஸ் உணர்ந்திருக்கிறார். துப்பாக்கியை தொடங்கியதிலிருந்து அவ*ரிடமிருந்து ஒரு வார்த்தை விழவில்லை. விஜய்யும் அப்படியே.

துப்பாக்கியில் விஜய் ஜோடியாக காஜல் அகர்வால் நடிக்கிறார். சந்தோஷ் சிவன் ஒளிப்பதிவு. ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயரா*ஜ் இசையமைக்கிறார்.

The finest cinematographer in Indian cinema Santosh Sivan has become the first DOP (director of photography) in Asia Pacific's to be awarded the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers (ASC)membership.

Please note in the world of cinematography ASC membership is like getting an Oscar. ASC membership is an exclusive club. Top Hollywood cinematographers have the ASC prefixed along with their names on the title cards of their films. Santosh is the first Indian cameraman to get into the elite club of American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) membership.

Santosh’s name was recommended by Michael Chapman (ASC), the noted cinematographer who became famous for his two collaborations with renowned director Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. Chapman saw Santosh’s works (Terrorist & Beyond the Rains) and recommended his name.

Speaking to sify.com from the sets of Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Thupakki in Mumbai, Santosh Sivan said: “I think it is a dream comes true to be part of American Society of Cinematographers (ASC). I have to thank all my directors like Mani Ratnam, Priyadarsan and others.”

Director AR Murugadoss just cannot stop praising Vijay. The Ilayathalapathy plays the lead star in Thuppaki directed by AR Murugadoss and the two shares a very good rapport. Speaking about Vijay, AR Murugadoss said that when he enters the sets, the star immediately switches off his mobile.
Vijay does not want any disturbance while he is facing the camera and prefers to switch off the mobile, he added. The director also appealed to all the actors and actresses to follow this so that the director’s work can be made easy.
Thuppaki has Vijay and Kajal Agarwal playing the lead pair with music by Harris Jayaraj.

இந்தப் படத்தில் நீண்ட இடைவெளிக்குப் பிறகு ஒரு பெப்பியான பாடலையும் பாடியுள்ளார் விஜய். ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயராஜ் இசையில் இந்தப் பாடல் அவரது ரசிகர்களை தாளம் போட வைக்குமாம். கிட்டத்தட்ட 7 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் மீண்டும் பாடியுள்ளார் விஜய் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. கடைசியாக அவர் பாடிய பாடல் வாடி வாடி கைபடாத சிடி...

பெரும்பாலான காட்சிகளை மும்பையில் வைத்தே இப்படத்துக்காக சுட்டுள்ளார் முருகதாஸ். படத்தில் என்கவுண்டர் ஸ்பெஷலிஸ்ட்டாக வரும் விஜய், அதிரடி சண்டைக் காட்சிகளிலும் அசத்தியுள்ளார்.

Kajal turns over-glamorous in Thuppaki
There are reports surfacing that Kajal Agarwal has turned over-glamorous in the Vijay starrer Thuppaki. Denying this, the actress has said that she will appear mainly in jeans and it cannot be termed as over-glamorous. Kajal also added that she would not be wearing skimpy clothes which would come within the purview of glamour. With the actress clarifying, fans are sure to be disappointed.
Thuppaki is directed AR Murugadoss and stars Vijay and Kajal as the lead pair. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music for this film.

ARM is known for exceeding the budget. His films give good gross collections, but not necessarily profitability to distributors. They mostly achieve success in metros / multiplexes. The plan is to change that with Thuppakki, hence the combination with Vijay.

For Vijay, it is about trying something different - a conscious choice reflecting in Nanban, Thuppakki and then Yohan. Heartening to see the guy at least trying something different.

The known aspects about ARM films - they promise too much action, then end up being relatively bland (relatively, mind you). Many first look scenes or pivotal action sequences do not reflect in the final print. Remember Surya posing with gun/bullets and a suave-looking wristwatch in the Ghajini first look poster? Never saw it in any situation in the final film. Keep expectations very high (what the makers want) and you are more likely to be thoroughly disappointed like 7am arivu.
