They offered the Emperor pearls as big as peas, a big piece of lieu-li, camphor, the teeth of rhinocerous beautiful textiles, incense, diverse perfumes, essense of roses, medicinal plants, borax and spices.
The chief of the delegation performed the Sa-tien ceremony by which camphor mixed with pearl are spread on the steps to the Emperors's throne, and the Emperor pleased conferred on him a very great title and caused to be given to him precious medicines from the imperial pharmacy.
The other members of the delegation were given numerous presents consisting essentially silks, and this embassy took to the king of Chola country 81,800 strings of cash and 52,000 taels (3000 kilo grams) of silver from China.
