What a marvelous film :clap:

I had seen Pather Panchali a few years back on DD. While I found it good I was not blown away or anything like that. Plus, though it had its share of outstanding sequences, it is not exactly the most riveting film. So I was not too enthusiastic about watching a Satyajit Ray film - hesitant that I may not enjoy it.

Was wrong on all counts. Not only is Charulata excellent, it was an engrossing watch from start to finish, the characters, dialogues, the tension in the scenes, the acting, the music, the camerawork, even throwaway sequences.. everything worked! Superb stuff.
