I can think of Baasha where Manickam thinks of Baasha and Baasha essays flashback about Anwar. Please list others too.

The foremost example that comes to mind about flashbacks in Tamil cinema are those montage scenes of usually tragic scenes they did during the opening credits in that "film negative look"

such as the flashbacks that Kamal has during the song "Megam Kottatum"

or that flashback that Prabhu gets when he gets electric shock therapy in "Manasukkul Mathappu" it's the beginning of the "Poonthendral song" and the flashback follows(?) .
