No, Ramona. I thought it would be a good idea to have 'health' related discussions in the hub, hence the thread !

I had one. There is no side effect to MRI. In some cases you would be asked to have an MRI with contrast to get a clearer view of things, which means a dye is injected into your body when the MRI is performed. The dye can cause side effects from itching to swelling to heart failure but most serious side effects are so rare. You have nothing to worry about if you are a young person.

I have had one, it was quite scary sitting inside the tube for 20 mins, it was like :shaking: had problems breathing, but was OK towards the end of it !

it doesn say about how to cure it....does anyone know about it..its apparently common especially among middle/old age and for those on the computers the whole day

There's no cure for this because it's a syndrome, not a disease. Relaxation, pain medication, vitamins, massage therapy, simple exercises help relieve pain.

Surgery is not long term solution because CTS comes back in a few years in most cases. How severe is your pain?

My cousin and my husband both had undergone Angiogram. My husband only had bad bruising and swelling where they made the puncture. Otherwise both of them did not have any side effects.

Per theory, they should be allowed to grow out (after some mutti-mOdhifying over years, which is a painful process, even needing pain-killers for a couple of days whey try to come out).

In practice, though, the very first time one experiences the (unbearable) pain, the dentist is very happy to remove the culprit (often for very low costs in India and for very fat charges in the west).

So, the answer is - you can choose to have them removed if the pain (that recurs every now and then, for years) is intolerable! Or, if the dentist advises there's no possibility of it ever coming out as per bone structure (x-ray business)! Moreover, for the eating / chewing purpose, those aren't strictly required anyways...

BTW, removing them is not painful (local anasthesia) - allowing them to grow / come out could be extremely painful for some :-)

Thanks Anna, Going to dentists always "scared the hell out of me " :frightened: ! It is quite a costly matter in UK, it costs around £50 to remove one :banghead:

BTW, Do you have them in the upper Jaws as well ? :roll:
