After her impressive debut in Katradhu thamizh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kattradhu_Thamizh), Anjali had to contend with the ordinary Aayudham SeivOm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aayudham_Seivom) only to bounce back with her breathtaking performance in Angaadi theru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angaadi_Theru)

Her other films this year were Rettaichuzhi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rettaisuzhi) and Magizhchi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magizhchi). Even without having seen them one can reasonably guess that it is the films that struggle to use her.

We've got some serious talent on our hands. Let us see what our filmmakers make of her.

Anjali had a whole range of emoting to do in AT. And it is not just azhugaachi as Roshan is saying, very subtle louus expressions, fear, uncertainty, 'ippo avasiyam therinjukkaNumO' controlled fuming after being molested by Venkatesh, helplessness in leaving her sister to a lousy fate, the station scene where she goes to dissuade her sister but ends up being half-convinced by the child...she had a lot of difficult, uncommon scenes to do. And she did an excellent job.

'தூங்கா நகரம்' படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு , மதுரை பஸ்நிலையத்தில் நடந்தது. விமல்- அஞ்சலியுடன், சென்னையில் இருந்து வரவழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த 500 துணை நடிகர்- நடிகைகள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காட்சியை கவுரவ் படமாக்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

படப்பிடிப்பை வேடிக்கை பார்ப்பதற்கு, கட்டுக்கடங்காத அளவில் ரசிகர்கள் திரண்டு வந்திருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அப்படியே படப்பிடிப்புக் குழுவை சூழந்துகொண்டனர்.

அப்போது சில இளைஞர்கள் கும்பலாக வந்து, அஞ்சலியை சூழ்ந்து கொண்டனர். அவரை அப்படியே கைகளை நீட்டி கட்டிப் பிடிப்பது போல நெருக்க, அஞ்சலி அலற ஆரம்பித்த்தார். உடனே பெரும் தள்ளுமுள்ளு ஏற்பட்டது.

படப்பிடிப்பு நடத்த முடியாத சூழ்நிலை உருவானது. நிலைமை கைமீறியது. சில ரசிகர்கள், அஞ்சலியின் கையைப்பிடித்து இழுத்தனர். சிலர் மேலே விழுவது போல வந்தனர். இதனால் கடுப்பான இயக்குநர் கவுரவ் அந்த ரசிகர்கள் மீது பாய்ந்து 'பளார்...பளார்' என அவர்களின் கன்னத்தில் அறைந்து, வெளியேற்றினார்.

அடிவாங்கிய ரசிகர்கள், 'நாங்க மதுரைக்காரர்கள். எங்கள் மேலயா கை வைக்கிறே?' என்று மிரட்டினார்கள். உடனே கவுரவ், 'நான் மட்டுமல்ல, இந்தப் படமே மதுரைக்காரங்க படம்டா' என்றாராம். அதற்குள் போலீசார் வந்துவிட இளைஞர்கள் பறந்தனர், கன்னத்தைத் தடவியபடி!

ThalaimuRaigaL by Neela.Padmanabhan.
One of the classic novels. It was noted for its simpl,e flow and subtle and gradual progression of writing style.


It is about a family living in Nagercoil area. The hero Dhiravi's (in the novel he starts as a small boy and progresses to be an adult) sister gets sent back by her impotent husband. In the regressive society then one can only fume. His love for his sister, his yearning to do justice to her but then he is not the man of the house, not yet atleast. Changes in the family, society, attitudes towards women shown beautifully. The characters like the hero's grandmother an oldworld lady who is getting outdated but no doubt full of love for her grandchildren (just that she thinks her granddaughter ought to resign to her fate).

The story works because of the memorable characters. Dhiravi's bigamist grand uncle gets henpecked by both wives. The one who really care for him are the half caste concubine and their children. But there are limits - this far and no further.

Dhiravi's lower caste friend (who is a rough gain but with great affection for his invalid father) has a soft corner for Dhiravi's sister. But given his station there are limits to his expressing it. And nor can Dhiravi offer it when he is not yet man of the house to make such a social leap, when the possibility of reconciliation is still open etc.How time and changes in events gradually push the family in certain directions is the story. Quite filmable. Then again quite goofable, adhunaala dhaan kEttukittE irukkEn.

She is good at ayan types light commercial roles with a little requirement for additional skills than just dancing, juumping, diving and skin show. Can give her a longer rope tan just skinshow glam dolls. Means better than likes of tirisa.

Saw couple of interviews of Anjali, esp this thoongka nagaram interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kahWGHKROTY&feature=fvwrel). and followed up with suggestions. She speaks clearly and no resemblance with usual blah-blah intruus which most of actresses gives. She recollects almost all the artists and technicians worked with her, in all films(even that mokkai sundar.c film) Not only that, some creative stuff, not mokai speech. I guess she has some spark and if appropriate characters are given, there are many chances she will climb high. Acting talent is already acknowledged

Anjali suffers an electric shock

While on the sets of Oor Suttri Puranam, top-ranking actress Anjali suffered an electric shock. The actress was busy performing before the camera when she unwittingly came in contact with a live wire and suffered an electric shock.

The Angadi Theru actress was rushed to the hospital where she was treated and is stated to be out of danger. Enquiries revealed that Anjali is doing fine and has been discharged from hospital. She is currently at home taking rest, we are told.

Actress Anjali alleges harassment by 'Mom'-Times of India

Actress Anjali is alleging that she is being harassed by her family and has moved to Hyderabad. We hear that the actress is now claiming that Bharathi Devi, who accompanied her to shoots and events and was considered to be her mother, is in fact not her mother but her step-mother.
While the actress could not be reached by TOI despite numerous attempts to reach her in Hyderabad, a source in the industry revealed, "According to Anjali's statement, her step-mom and director Mu Kalanjiyam are allegedly harassing her, and her family in Chennai has swindled the money she has earned acting in films so far. So, she says she has been left with no choice but to flee to Hyderabad. She has also said that if anything happens to her, the blame should fall on her stepmother and Kanlanjiyam."
Reportedly, the actress has also stated that her step-mom had been using her as an 'ATM machine'. When TOI contacted director Kalanjiyam, he expressed surprise at Anjali's allegations. "I'm really baffled why Anjali dragged my name into this. I don't have any connection with her and her family except for the fact that I introduced her in films. That film (Sathamindri Muthamidu) never saw the light of the day but her family continued to consult with me on her future projects as a well-wisher," he says.
He adds that he was unaware of the fact that Anjali's companion was her aunt and not her actual mother. "Even I'm shocked by this. I have gone to their house and I have seen a photograph of Anjali (when she was a young girl) with her mom, dad and two brothers. I'm also acquainted with the rest of their family and have known them for 10 years. But I never realized Bharathi Devi was not her actual mom," he explains.
Anjali is part of Kalanjiyam's current film Oor Suttri Puranam, and the director says he is now in a dilemma if she will continue with the project. "She has already shot for 15 days for the film and never complained. She has even given me dates in May for the next schedule. Now, I am worried what will happen to the film since it is my own production. I have already invested ` 40 lakh in the film," he says.
However, there are other industry sources who claim that it is Kalanjiyam who is the cause of all these issues. In recent times, it's being said that her stepmother stopped accompanying the actress to shoots and it was her father who used to come with her. Apparently, her stepmom also doesn't allow anyone access to the actress.
Meanwhile, there are stories doing the rounds that she will not act in Tamil films any more. But a source tells us that she had expressed keen interested in acting in Sundar's Kalakalappu 2 which will kickstart in July this year.

இப்படியாக அந்த படம் என் மனசுக்குள் ஆயிரம் எண்ணங்களை உசுப்பி விட்டது. மஹாராஸ்ராவில் எங்கோ மாமாவின் வீட்டில் அவள் தங்கியிருப்பாள் ஜீவா போய் பார்க்க போவார் அதன் பிறகு ஒரு விபசாரவிடுதியில் அஞ்சலியை பார்ப்பான். இப்படியாக அவளின் துயரம் இருளுக்கும் இருண்மைக்கும் புதிருக்கும் நடுவே ஒரு முறுக்கப்பட்ட கயிறாக சுற்றியபடியேயிருக்கும். இப்படியாக இந்த படம் பல்வேறு மின்மினிகளை மனதிற்குள் பறக்கவிட்டபடி நிறங்களை உதறியபடியே இருந்தது. ஒரு புதிய பெண் இத்தனை அழுத்தமாக அழகாக பல்வேறு விதமான கால கட்டங்களை மனதில் கொண்டு வந்து நடித்துவிட்டாளே என்று தோன்றியது. நம்பிக்கையான புதிய வரவு என்று தோன்றியது

அங்காடித்தெரு படத்திற்காக சேர்மக்கனி கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்க பல புதிய பெண்களை பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தேன், கதைநாயகன் மகேஷ் என்று முடிவானவுடன் இது காதல் படம் இவனும் புதுசு
கதாநாயகியும் புதுசுன்னா இரண்டு பேரும் தயக்கத்திலேயே கூச்சத்திலே காதல் காட்சிகளில் விலகி விலகி நடித்து காதலை கொண்டு வராமல் சொதப்பி விடுவார்கள் என்று எண்ணினேன். உடனே என் மனசுக்குள் வந்த ஒரு உருவம் அஞ்சலி. அவளை பார்க்க வேண்டும் என்று அழைத்தேன், அவள் அம்மா(இப்போது சித்தி)வுடன் ஜிலுஜிலு சுடிதாருடன் வந்தாள். உடனே குழப்பமாக இருந்தது.வேறு சுடிதார் வாங்கி வந்து டெஸ்ட் சூட் பண்ணினேன், கதை நாயகன் மகேஷ் பெண் என்பதால் தயங்கினான், விலகி நின்றான், அவன் தயக்கத்தை புரிந்து கொண்டு நான் பிரச்சினையை விளக்காமலே அஞ்சலி அந்த நெருக்கத்தை வரவழைத்து நடித்தாள். மிக அற்புதமான ரசாயன மாற்றம் இருந்தது, இருவரும் நல்ல ஜோடி என்று தோன்றியது. உடனே அஞ்சலியை தேர்வு செய்தேன். படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்கியது. மெல்ல மெல்ல சேர்மக்கனியாக மாறத்துவங்கினாள் முதல் 3 நாட்களில் படத்தின் அதி முக்கியமான காட்சியை படமாக்கும் போதே அற்புதமான நடிப்பை வழங்கத்துவங்கினாள், என் மனம் மலர்ந்தது கதைக்கு உயிர் வந்தது, மகேஷ் சுமாராக நடிக்கும் பல இடங்களில் அஞ்சலி துரக்கி சாப்பிடத்துவங்கினாள், கவனம் அவள் பக்கம் திரும்பியது, மகேஷ் நடிக்க தயங்கிய நெருக்கமான காதல் காட்சிகளில் அவனின் கூச்சத்தை இவள் போக்கினாள்.

இன்று அவள் மீது சுமத்தப்படும பிம்பங்கள் கனவுகளற்ற உலர்ந்த விச மொழியில் உள்ளது, விரிக்கப்படும் அத்தனை கனவுகளும் மாய மொழியிலும் வியாபார நிமிர்த்தமான மீறல்கள் கொண்டதாக உள்ளது.

திரைக்குடும்பத்தில் இல்லாத ஒரு பெண் திரைத்துறையில் நுழைய எத்தனை ஒரு பெரிய விலை கொடுக்கவேண்டியிருக்கிறது. நிறைய மர்மமான பொய்களையும் புதிர்களையும் அவிழ்க்க வேண்டியிருக்கிறது. அதீத புனைவுக்குள் நுழைய வேண்டியிருக்கிறது இந்த கதைகளை கேட்கும் போது அந்த மனிதர்களை பார்க்கும் போது வாழ்வின் மதிப்பீடுகளும் கனவுகளும் உடைந்து நொறுங்குகின்றன.

அவள் பிரச்சினைகள் அத்தனையும் தீர்ந்து புதிதாக மீண்டு வர இறையை வேண்டுகிறேன்,

Anjali Got Married And Jumped To USA?
Actress Anjali though debuted with Siva Nageswara Rao’s ‘Photo’ a few years ago, has turned the heads of millions with her ‘Journey’ has shot to fame all of a sudden with ‘Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’.

But eventually she was known for a wrong reason in media with strife between her and her aunt. The issue got settled and later everybody thought that everything was fine. She was also present in the recent Filmfare South event and wooed the cameras.
