This scene is really hilarious. I also like the erikarai scene where Senthil looks upward when GM looks thru binocs and informs about Kushboo's arrival. Its a ROFLMAO moment every time... also Senthil repenting for 10pisa loss...

One of the important aspects of our thread was the songs collection - the songs sung by GM in different movies. It was Sridhar aka 19th May who came up with this brilliant idea.

On March 1st 2010, he wrote to GM fans in the hub "I am collecting GM's one liner songs, need your help" and started with 3 songs.

And almost every body here pitched in. Unfortunately, it did not move beyond a certain level in the current thread. But still, time to time KanmaNigaL have referred to it, showcasing its popularity and the need to revive it.

Chinna Gounder has 2 distinct shades of Annan Gounder..
one is his usual role with Senthil
another one is the character artiste / may be the actor within him is brought out from his good old drama days.. i enjoyed both
when u experienced actors share the scene its always a treat to watch... that is how i feel when i see Annan & Aachi perform in a couple of scenes like "aatha puLLa bayapadudhu"...
apart from the easily remembered scenes.. there is one more for which i was :rotfl:

Aachi was counting the no. of cloths brought after washing...

aachi: "ennoru unda daayar engeda"
Annan quickly responds.. raises his dhothi & says "adhu nan pOtrukken aatha"

then the scene was used to convey an important message about aachi's grand daughter.. while ending the message annan says "unda daayaru.. danda.. da.. danda.. daa.." :lol: really loved the scene.. & inbetween the village pazhamai exchanges between Aachi & Annan.. :bow: experience.. experience'thaan..

Chinna Gounder has 2 distinct shades of Annan Gounder..
one is his usual role with Senthil
another one is the character artiste / may be the actor within him is brought out from his good old drama days.. i enjoyed both
when u experienced actors share the scene its always a treat to watch... that is how i feel when i see Annan & Aachi perform in a couple of scenes like "aatha puLLa bayapadudhu"...
apart from the easily remembered scenes.. there is one more for which i was :rotfl:

Aachi was counting the no. of cloths brought after washing...
[can't get the dialogues as such]
aachi: "ennoru unda daayar engeda"
Annan quickly responds.. raises his dhothi & says "adhu nan pOtrukken aatha"
aachi: "ada adhu illa da.. thavasi'oda unda daayaru"
then the scene was used to convey an important message about aachi's grand daughter.. while ending the message annan says "unda daayaru.. danda.. da.. danda.. daa.." :lol: really loved the scene.. & inbetween the village pazhamai exchanges between Aachi & Annan.. :bow: experience.. experience'thaan..

felt like laughing to some melodramatic scenes imagining what would go into Annan's mind :lol: .. quoting these scenes alone can be made as a separate post..

& about Senthil..

through out the film they have same concept for the comedy track..

oh ok. I only saw the aNNan part. Watched the SuruLi part now, but unable to get any clue on the movie. (BTW great find App). Checked his wiki to see if I could get any clue, but stunned to note the number of movies he did in a short span. It reads "He created a record by acting in not less than 50 movies in a single year in 1980". Not sure, but oru anju paththu koranjirundhaalum its a record I think.

தகுதிக்கு மீறி ஒரு செயலை செய்பவனை அந்த இடத்திலேயே கண்டித்து, கடுமையான கிண்டலும் கோபத்தைப் பொறுத்து அடி உதையும் வழங்கும் பாத்திரங்கள் ரசிகர்கள் மத்தியில் கவுண்டமணிக்கு ஒரு ஆன்டி ஹீரோ எனும் அளவுக்கு வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றுத் தந்தன என்று சொல்லலாம். உரத்த குரலும் கொச்சை வார்த்தைகளும் அவரது பிரபல்யத்துக்கு வழிவகுத்தாலும் விமர்சகர்களின் கண்டிப்புக்கும் புறக்கணிப்புக்கும் அந்த அம்சங்களே காரணமாயின. நாடக மரபில் இருந்து வந்த நமது சினிமாவில் திலக நடிகர்கள் உட்பட எல்லோருமே சத்தமாகப் பேசியே நடித்துப் புகழ்பெற்றனர் என்பதை விமர்சகர்கள் மறந்துவிடுகிறார்கள். அவரது பலமே அவரது பலவீனமாக குறிப்பிடப்பட்டாலும் எந்த காலத்திலும் தன் நடிப்பு முறையை அவர் மாற்றிக்கொள்ளவே இல்லை.

பின்னாளில் மணிவண்ணன், விவேக் மற்றும் அதற்குப் பிறகான காலங்களில் பெரிய அளவில் வெற்றி பெற்ற வடிவேலு ஆகியோரின் வருகை கவுண்டமணியின் திரைவாழ்வில் தேக்கம் வர காரணமாயின என்று சொல்லலாம். தவிர தொண்ணூறுகளின் தொடக்கம் வரை கிராமம் மற்றும் சிறு நகரங்களையே மையமாகக் கொண்டு இயங்கி வந்த தமிழ் சினிமா ரஹ்மானின் இசை, உலகமயமாக்கல் ஆகியவற்றின் பாதிப்பில் நகரங்களை சார்ந்து உருவாகத் தொடங்கியபோது மாற்றத்துக்கேற்ப கவுண்டமணி தன் பாத்திரத் தேர்வுகளை மாற்றிக் கொண்டார். கல்லூரி கணினித்துறை பேராசிரியராக வந்தாலும் முழங்கைகளில் டைப் அடித்து சாட் செய்ததன் மூலம் தனது முத்திரையை பதிக்க அவர் தயங்கவில்லை.

கவுண்டமணியின் பெயர் காரணங்களில் ஊர்க் கவுண்டர் என்று அவர் நடித்த பாத்திரமும் யார் என்ன பேசினாலும் உடனுக்குடன் முரண் கேள்விகளை முன்வைத்த பாத்திரத்தில் நடித்ததால் counter மணி என்று பெயர் பெற்று அது மருவி கவுண்டமணியானது என்றும் இருவேறுக் கருத்துகள் நிலவுகின்றன. 'காட்ட வித்து கள்ளு குடிச்சாலும் கவுண்டன் கவுண்டன் தான்' என்று சலம்பினாலும் அவர் உண்மையில் கவுண்டர் இல்லை என்று சொல்பவர்கள் உண்டு.

பாரதிராஜா,கமல்,ரஜினி ,மணிரத்னம் போன்ற பெரிய கைகளின் படங்களில் ஆரம்பகாலத்தில் நடித்துவந்த கவுண்டமணி அவர்கள் நட்சத்திர அந்தஸ்தை அடைந்தவுடன் அருகில் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளப்படவில்லை. திரையில் எத்தனை பேர் நின்றாலும் தனித்து தெரியக்கூடிய முரட்டுத் திறமைக் கொண்ட கவுண்டரை சேர்த்துக்கொள்ள அவர்கள் அஞ்சியதில் நியாயம் இல்லாமல் இல்லை. மிஸ்டர் பாரத் போன்ற படங்களில் அவருடன் நடித்த ரஜினி பின்னர் பல படங்களில் கவுண்டரிடம் அடிவாங்கும் செந்திலைத் தான் நடிக்க வைத்தார். பல வருடங்கள் கழித்து மன்னன் படத்தில் கவுண்டமணி தொழிலதிபர்களைக் கிண்டல் பண்ணும்போது அமைதியாகக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருப்பார் ரஜினி. பி.வாசுவின் முந்தைய வெற்றிப் படமான சின்னத் தம்பியின் வெற்றியில் கவுண்டரின் பங்கு அதிகம் என்பதால் இந்தப் படத்தில் அவரை சேர்த்துக்கொள்ள ரஜினி சம்மதித்திருக்கலாம். பிறகு எஜமான், உழைப்பாளி போன்ற படங்களில் தொடர்ந்து அவருடன் கவுண்டமணி நடித்தார். என்றாலும் ரஜினிக்கு தன்னை தாண்டிப் போய்விடாத நகைச்சுவை நடிகன் வேண்டும் என்பதால் செந்தில் தான் அவரது பொதுத் தெரிவாக இருந்தார். வறண்டு போன முகங்களில் விக் வைத்து ரஜினியும் கவுண்டமணியும் பாபாவில் வந்தாலும் படம் படுத்தது என்னவோ படுத்தது தான். அதில் ரஜினிக்கு தன் கடையை எழுதி வைப்பதாக ஒருவர் சொல்லும்போது கவுண்டர் பக்கத்தில் இருப்பவரிடம் ரகசியமாக கேட்பார் "கடை அவருது தானே?"

கமலைப் பொறுத்தவரை தன்னை தாண்ட அவர் யாரையுமே அனுமதிக்க மாட்டார் என்பதால் கவுண்டமணி பலகாலம் அவரிடம் இருந்து தூரத் தான் வைக்கப்பட்டார். சின்னக் கவுண்டர் வெற்றிக்கு ஒரு காரணமாக இருந்த அவரை உதயக்குமார் சிபாரிசின் பேரில் சிங்காரவேலனில் கமல் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டார் போலும். படத்தில் கமலை பல இடங்களில் முந்தி நிற்பார் கவுண்டமணி. "நா ஒரு லட்சியத்தோட இங்க வந்திருக்கேன்" என்று சொல்லும் கமலிடம் "அப்போ நாங்க என்ன துணி தொவைக்க வந்திருக்கோமா?" என்று கண்டனக் குரல் எழுப்புவார். கடுப்பான கமல் "உன்னை கண்டிக்க ஆளில்லாமத் தான் இப்படி ஆகிட்டே" என்று இந்தியனில் கண்டிப்பார். தொன்னூறுகளில் பரிசோதனை முயற்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வந்ததால் கவுண்டமணிக்கு ஏற்ற பாத்திரம் தர கமலால் முடியவில்லை.

அதே போல் ஒரு காலத்திலும் தன் மதிப்பைப் பெறாத செந்திலிடம் உதவி என்று கேட்டு நிற்க கவுண்டமணி திரையில் கூட எப்போதுமே ஒப்புக்கொள்ளமாட்டார். விற்காத இளநீர் தென்னங்கன்றாக முளைத்து நொடித்துப் போய், ஆள் தெரியாமல் கடன் வாங்க செந்திலிடமே போய் நிற்க நேரும்போது கவுண்டமணி கோபத்தின் உச்சத்துக்கே போய் விடுவார். கூட்டிப் போன வடிவேலுவுக்கு கன்னம் பழுக்க அறை விழும். அது கவுண்டமணியின் சுபாவம். தனக்குப் படங்கள் இல்லாதபோது யாரிடமும் போய் நிற்கவில்லை அவர். அந்தத் தேக்கத்தை ஜீரணித்துக்கொண்டார்.

கவுண்டமணியின் நடிப்பில் இயல்பான உடல்மொழி புத்திசாலித்தனம் இவற்றை எதிர்பார்க்கவே முடியாது. நின்ற இடத்தில் கைகால்களை விசித்திரமாக அசைத்தபடி வசனம் பேசியே ரசிகர்களை சிரிக்க வைப்பார். கருவாடை கொண்டு வந்து வைக்கும் ஆட்டோக்காரரை திருடன் என்று துரத்தி விடும் கவுண்டமணி கமல் கேட்கும்போது "ஆட்டக்காரனா இருந்தா என்ன ..பாட்டக்காரனா இருந்தா என்ன? மூக்கு மேல துணியக் கட்டிக்கிட்டு வரலாமா?" என்று எதிர்கேள்வி கேட்பார். அப்போது முழங்காலை மடக்கித் தூக்கி கையால் ஒரு தட்டு தட்டுவார். கமல் தன் தார்மீகக் கோபங்களைக் கட்டுப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு அவரையேப் பார்த்துகொண்டு நிற்பார். என்றாலும் அடுத்தவர் வசனம் பேசும்போது அவர் முகத்தை தேமேயென்று பார்த்துக்கொண்டு தன் முறைக்காகக் காத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும் மூன்றாம் தர நடிகர்களுடன் கவுண்டமணியை சேர்த்துவிட முடியாது. எதிர்பாராத நேரத்தில் எதிர்பாராத பதில் அவர் வாயிலிருந்து விழும். அத்தருணத்தில் சிரிக்கத் தான் தோன்றுமே தவிர யோசிக்கத் தோன்றாது. அதே போல் அவரது முகபாவம். தன்னை சீண்டும் செந்திலை அடிக்கத் தயாராகும்போது தலையைத் தூக்கி வாயைக் குவித்து வைத்துக் கொள்வார். அடி எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் விழலாம்.

அவர் மீது இருக்கும் விமர்சனங்களில் முக்கியமானது மற்றவர்களின் உடல்குறைகளை கிண்டல் செய்து சிரிக்க வைக்கிறார் என்பது தான். ஏறத்தாழ இந்தக் குற்றசாட்டில் சிக்காத நடிகர்களே இல்லை எனலாம். ஏதாவது ஒரு விதத்தில் யாரையாவது புண்படுத்தித் தான் அவர்கள் பல முறை சிரிக்க வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். 'படித்தவர்களுக்கான நகைச்சுவை நடிகர்களான' கிரேசி மோகன், எஸ்.வி.சேகர் போன்றோர் ஊனமுற்றவர்களை அடிக்காத நக்கலா? கவுண்டமணி புதுப்புதுப் பட்டப் பெயர்கள் சொல்லி செந்திலைக் கூப்பிடும்போது திரையுலகம் அதிரத் தான் செய்தது. ஒரு படத்தில் புகைப்படக் கலைஞராக வரும் கவுண்டமணி பிலிம் டெவெலப் பண்ணும் வேலை செய்யும் கருப்பு சுப்பையாவை அடிக்கும் கிண்டல் புண்படுத்தும்படி இருந்தாலும் நுணுக்கமானது. "நெகட்டிவ் கழுவி கழுவி நீ நெகட்டிவ் மாதிரியே ஆயிட்டய்யா" என்பார். கருப்பு முகமும் வெள்ளை முடியுமாக அவரைப்பார்த்து வெட்கச் சிரிப்பு சிரிப்பார் சுப்பையா. தன்னைக் கவிழ்க்க ஆலோசனை நடத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கும் செந்திலையும் வடிவேலையும் பார்த்து "என்னடா ..கருப்பர்கள் மாநாடா?" என்று கேட்பார். "அண்ணன் சிவப்புடா..பாரு செவப்பு சட்டை போட்டிருக்காரு" என்று செந்தில் தரும் உடனடி பதில் முக்கியமானது. அதே போல் வழுக்கையாக இளநீர் கேட்கும் ஒருவரின் வழுக்கைத் தலையை அரிவாளால் சீவும் அளவுக்கு கடுப்பாகும் கவுண்டமணி அந்த காட்சியில் நடிக்கும்போது தன் தலையைப் பற்றி நினைத்தே இருக்க மாட்டார். நினைத்தால் நடிக்க முடியுமா?

ஆரம்ப நாட்களில் தான் இசை அமைத்த மேடை நாடகம் ஒன்றில் கவுண்டமணியும் செந்திலும் சிறு வேடங்களில் நடித்ததாக இளையராஜா கூறியிருக்கிறார். செந்திலுடன் முன்பே நல்ல பழக்கம் கவுண்டமணிக்கு இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இருவருக்கும் இடையிலான அந்த கெமிஸ்ட்ரி நிச்சயம் ஒரே நாளில் வந்திருக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. இருவரும் முன்பே பல படங்களில் நடித்திருந்தாலும் வைதேகி காத்திருந்தாள் இந்த இணையை எங்கோ கொண்டு சென்றது.மேன்டிலை உடைத்து விட்டு செந்தில் நிற்கும்போது ஒரு பெண் வந்து பெட்ரோமாக்ஸ் லைட் கேட்பாள். அப்போது செந்திலை ஒரு முறை பார்த்து விட்டு ஆடியன்சை ஒரு முறைப் பார்ப்பார் கவுண்டமணி. அந்த காட்சி தங்கள் இருவருக்கும் ஒரு பெரிய தொடக்கத்தைக் கொடுத்தது என்றார் விகடனுக்கு அளித்த ஒரு நேர்காணலில். செந்தில் பல முறை பத்திரிக்கை தொலைக்காட்சி நேர்காணல்களில் வந்தாலும் கவுண்டமணி அதற்கு நேர்மாறாக இருக்கிறார். அவர் தொலைக்காட்சியில் தோன்றியது ஒரே முறை தான். இளையராஜா சிம்பனி செய்ததற்காக நடந்த பாராட்டு நிகழ்ச்சி ஒன்றில் கவுண்டமணியும் தோன்றி அவருக்கு வாழ்த்து சொன்னார். முழு ஒப்பனையுடன் "இசைன்னா ராஜா. .ராஜான்னா இசை" என்ற வார்த்தைகள் தான் அவர் தொலைக்காட்சி முன் தோன்றிப் பேசியவை. பெரும்பாலும் பொதுவில் வெளியே வரத் தயங்கும் கவுண்டமணி தன் குடும்பம் பற்றிய விஷயங்களையும் அப்படியே தான் வைத்துக்கொண்டார். விளம்பரத்துக்கு அலையும் சினிமா உலகில் கவுண்டமணி நிச்சயம் வேறுபட்டவர் தான். விகடனுக்கு அளித்த அந்தப் பேட்டியில் கதாநாயகனை விட நகைச்சுவை நடிகன் தான் ஃப்ரெஷாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்றார் அதிரடியாக. தவிர தன்னைப் பார்க்க வேண்டுமென்றால் ரசிகன் திரையரங்குக்கு தான் செல்ல வேண்டும் என்றார். நீண்டகாலம் கழித்து பெப்சி தொழிலாளர்கள் நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டு பேசினார். எதிர்பார்த்ததற்கு மாறாக தெளிவாகவே அமைந்தது அவர் பேச்சு.

நகைச்சுவை வேடங்கள் தந்த வெற்றியில் சில படங்களில் கதாநாயகனாகக் கூட நடித்தும் பார்த்தார். ஜீவிதா, ரம்யா கிருஷ்ணன் போன்ற நடிகைகள் அவருக்கு இணையாக நடித்தனர். அவை வெற்றி பெறாத காரணத்தால் திரும்பவும் நகைச்சுவைக்கு திரும்பிய அவருக்கு கைகொடுத்தது கரகாட்டக்காரன் தான். படத்தின் பெரிய வெற்றிக்கு செந்திலுடன் இணைத்து அவர் தந்த நகைச்சுவையும் முக்கியக் காரணமாக அமைந்தது. தொடர்ந்து ராமராஜன், பிரபு, சத்யராஜ் போன்றவர்களுடன் இணைந்து மிகப் பெரிய வெற்றிப் படங்களை கொடுத்தார்.படத்தில் செந்திலுடன் இணைந்து அவர் கொடுத்த வெற்றி உள்ளத்தை அள்ளித்தா வரைக்கும் தொடர்ந்தது. ஜீன்ஸ் படம் தொடங்கும்போது நாசர் நடித்த இரட்டை வேடத்தில் கவுண்டமணி தான் நடிப்பதாக இருந்தது. என்ன காரணத்தினாலோ அதில் அவர் நடிக்கவில்லை. பிறகு மேட்டுக்குடி போன்ற படங்களில் உச்சபட்ச நகைச்சுவையுடன் நடித்தாலும் அவரது உடல் நிலை திடீரென்று சரியில்லாமல் போக பல வாய்ப்புகள் கைநழுவின. பிறகு மெலிந்த உடலுடன் சில படங்களில் நடித்தாலும் அவரது பேச்சில் வழக்கமான நகைச்சுவை உணர்வு இல்லாமல் வெற்று இரைச்சலாக இருந்ததால் ரசிகர்களைக் கவர முடியவில்லை. தவிர மாறிவிட்ட தமிழ் சினிமாவின் போக்கில் தனி நகைச்சுவை நடிகன் என்பவனுக்கு அவசியமில்லாமல் போக கதையுடன் பெருமளவு சமபந்தப்பட்டவராக பல படங்களில் நடித்த மணிவண்ணன் சிறிதுகாலம் கோலோச்சினார். தொன்னூறுகளில் அவர் இல்லாத படங்களை எளிதாகக் கணக்கிடலாம். கவுண்டமணி மெல்ல ஒதுங்கலானார். மேலும் கவுண்டமணியின் வெற்றிக்கு மிகப் பெரிய தூணாக இருந்த நடிகர், வசனகர்த்தா ஏ. வீரப்பன் வயதாகி ஒதுங்கியதால் கவுண்டமணிக்கு என்று எழுத சரியான ஆட்களும் இல்லாமல் போயிற்று. வீரப்பன், கவுண்டமணிக்காக பிரத்யேகமாக நகைச்சுவை பகுதி எழுதியதுடன், ஆரம்பத்தில் எழுதி நாகேஷ், ஏ.கருணாநிதி போன்றோருடன் நடித்த காட்சிகளை கவுண்டமணிக்காக மாற்றியமைக்கவும் செய்தார். கரகாட்டக்காரனில் கவுண்டமணி வெறியுடன் தவில் வாசிக்கும்போது செந்தில் தூங்கும் காட்சி, வீரப்பன் எழுதிய 'பொண்ணு மாப்பிள்ளை' என்ற ஜெயஷங்கர்-காஞ்சனா நடித்த படத்தில் இருந்து எடுக்கப்பட்டது. படத்தில் தவில் வித்வானாக ஏ.கருணாநிதி நடிக்க சிஷ்யனாக வரும் டைப்பிஸ்ட் கோபு தூங்கி கருணாநிதியிடம் அடிவாங்குவார். உதயகீதம் படத்தில் கவுண்டமணிக்கு மாமனாராக போலீஸ் வேடத்தில் வீரப்பன் நடித்திருந்தார். அவரால் கவுண்டமணியிடம் இருந்து வெளியேக் கொண்டு வர வேண்டிய விஷயங்கள் என்னவென்று இனங்காண முடிந்தது. பல படங்களில் நகைச்சுவைப் பகுதி ஏ.வீரப்பன் என்று தனியாக வரும். எல்லாப் படத்துக்கும் பொருந்தும்படி காட்சிகளை எடுத்துவிட்டால் பின்னர் எந்தப் படத்துடனும் இணைத்துக்கொள்ளலாம் எனும்படி காட்சிகள் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டன. கவுண்டமணி-செந்தில்-வீரப்பன் கூட்டணி தமிழ் சினிமாவின் பெருவெற்றிப் பெற்ற கூட்டணி என்று சொல்லலாம்.

கதாநாயக நடிகர்களில் சத்யராஜுடன் கூட்டணி அமைத்த படங்கள் பெரிய அளவில் வெற்றியடைந்தன. இன்றும் அந்த இணை அதன் தனித்த நகைச்சுவைக்காகப் பேசப்படுகிறது. அவர்கள் இருவரும் நடித்த நடிகன் படம் தந்த வெற்றி குங்குமப் போட்டு கவுண்டர் வரை தொடர்ந்தது. பிரம்மா, திருமதி பழனிச்சாமி உட்பட பல படங்களை சொல்லலாம். மாமன் மகள் அவர்கள் நகைச்சுவைக் கூட்டணியின் உச்சபட்ச வெற்றி என்று சொல்ல வேண்டும். அதில் ஒரு காட்சியில் போலிப் பணக்காரர் சத்யராஜ் நாயகி மீனாவை கவர ஏராளமான ஆட்களுடன் ஜாக்கிங் செல்வார். அப்போது அவரது பி.ஏ வாக வரும் கவுண்டமணி திமிறிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் சில வேட்டை நாய்களின் சங்கிலிகளை பிடித்தபடி நின்று கொண்டிருப்பார். அதீதமானப் பொய்களுடன் மீனாவிடம் சத்யராஜ் நீண்ட நேரம் பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது பொறுமையிழந்த கவுண்டர் குரல் கொடுப்பார் " சீக்கிரம் பேசி முடிங்கடா. புது நாய் இழுக்குது"

தனது படங்களில் தனியாக 'மெசேஜ்' எதுவும் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்ற மெனக்கெட மாட்டார் கவுண்டமணி. என்றாலும் போகிறப் போக்கில் அவர் சொல்லிப்போகும் விஷயங்கள் சுருக்கென்று இருக்கும். வைதேகிக் காத்திருந்தாள் படத்தில் வேலை தேடி வந்து செந்தில் சொன்னார் என்பதற்காக தரையில் உள்நீச்சல் அடிக்கும் பக்கத்துக்கு ஊர் பையனிடம் " வந்து சைக்கிளுக்கு பஞ்சர் ஒட்டு. அப்போ தான் ஒங்களுக்கெல்லாம் அறிவு வரும்" என்பார். கீதாஞ்சலி படத்தில் குதிரைக்காரனாக வரும் கவுண்டமணி திருமணமாகிப் பிரியும் நடிகர் நடிகைகளை கடுமையாகக் கிண்டல் செய்வார். "கல்யாணம் பண்ணிக்கிறது. அழகும் கிளாமரும் தீந்தவொடனே எங்களுக்குள்ளே 'கருத்து வேறுபாடுன்னு' பிரிஞ்சிறது" என்பார் கடுப்புடன். சூரியன் படத்தில் அவர் பேசிய "அரசியல்லே இதெல்லாம் சாதாரணமப்பா" என்ற வசனம் எந்தக் கால அரசியலுக்கும் பொருந்தக் கூடியது.

பிரபலமான படங்களை விடவும் அவ்வளவாக அறியப்படாத பல படங்களில் அந்த இணை அருமையான நகைச்சுவையை அளித்திருக்கிறது. பெயர் தெரியாத பல படங்களின் நகைச்சுவைக் காட்சிகள் தற்போது சமூக வலைத் தளங்களில் காணக் கிடைக்கின்றன. ஒரு படத்தில் ஷர்மிலி வீட்டுக்குள் புகுந்துக் கொள்ளும் கவுண்டமணி செந்திலின் கால்கள் மட்டும் திகிலுடன் காட்டப்படும். கூடவே ஷர்மிலியின் அப்பா அவர்கள் இருவரையும் தேடி அலைவார்.ஒரு கட்டத்தில் காலில் அடிபட்டு விட கவுண்டமணி " ஆ" என்று அலறுவார். அந்தக் குரலைக் கேட்டுவிட்ட ஷர்மிலியின் அப்பா அடுத்தநாள் செந்திலுடன் வருவார். காலில் கட்டுப்போட்டு அமர்ந்திருக்கும் கவுண்டமணியை மாட்டிவிட செந்தில் தன் கையில் இருக்கும் மூட்டையை கவுண்டர் காலில் போடுவார். புத்திசாலிக் கவுண்டர் "ஊ" என்று கத்தி விட்டு செந்திலை ஒரு பார்வைப் பார்ப்பார். அதில் ஆயிரம் அர்த்தம் இருக்கும். பொதுவாக பலத்தில் குறைந்த செந்திலை விரட்டி விரட்டி அடிக்கும் கவுண்டமணி தன்னை விட பெரிய பலசாலிகளைக் கண்டால் அடங்கி நடப்பார். டாம் அண்ட் ஜெர்ரி கார்ட்டூனில் கிட்டத்தட்ட இதே போல் ஜெர்ரியை சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைக்கும்போதெல்லாம் அடித்து நொறுக்கும் டாம் தன்னை விடப் பெரிய மிருகங்களுக்கு அஞ்சி பணிந்து நடக்கும். டாமை கவுண்டமணியாகவும் செந்திலை ஜெர்ரியாகவும் ஒப்புமை செய்தால் சரியாகப் பொருந்தும். நடிகர்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை, உலக அளவில் இது போன்ற நகைச்சுவை இரட்டையர்களில் லாரல் ஹார்டியை தான் வேறு வழியின்றி ஒப்புமைக்காக சொல்ல முடியும். என்றாலும் அவர்கள் தான் தரம் வாய்ந்தவர்கள்.நம்மவர்கள் நகைச்சுவையில் தரம் கம்மி என்று கருதுபவர்கள் உண்டு. ஒருமுறை மதனிடம் இவர்களை ஒப்பிட சொல்லி வாசகர் ஒருவர் கேட்டபோது கவுண்டமணி செந்தில் இணை அடித்து உதைத்து தான் நகைச்சுவை வழங்கமுடியும். வசனம் பேசாமல் அவர்களால் சிரிக்க வைக்கமுடியாது என்றார். லாரல் ஹார்டி இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் அடித்துக்கொண்டு தான் புகழ்பெற்றனர். இருந்தாலும் நம்மவர்களைப் பாராட்ட நமக்கு மனம் வருமா என்ன?
ரசிகர்களிடையே பெரும் வரவேற்பைப் பெற்றிருந்தாலும் பிரபலங்களின் விருப்ப நகைச்சுவை நாயகனாக அவ்வளவாக கவுண்டமணி குறிப்பிடப் படுவதில்லை. என்றாலும் மாண்டலின் சீனிவாசன் ஒருமுறை நாட்டாமை படத்தின் கடைசி காட்சியில் செந்திலின் மனைவியாக கவுண்டமணி வந்து மலேயா பாஷை பேசும் கவுண்டமணியைப் பார்த்து விழுந்து விழுந்து சிரித்ததாகக் கூறினார். அதேபோல் கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் சடகோபன் ரமேஷ், தான் ஒரு கவுண்டமணி ரசிகன் என்று தொலைக்காட்சிப் பேட்டிகளில் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

நகைச்சுவை மட்டுமல்லாமல் பல படங்களில் குணசித்திர வேடங்களில் நன்றாக நடிக்கவும் செய்தார். ஒண்ணா இருக்கக் கத்துக்கணும் படத்தில் மகன் இறந்தவுடன் கதறியபடி கொள்ளிவைக்கும் வெட்டியானாக நடித்தபோது ஒரு பத்திரிக்கை இத்தனை நல்ல நடிகனை வெறும் நாம் வீணடிக்கிறோமோ என்று கேள்வி எழுப்பியது. உண்மைதான். ஒரு கட்டத்துக்கு மேல் நாகேஷ் நகைச்சுவை கலந்த குணச்சித்திர வேடங்களில் நடித்ததைப் போல் நகைச்சுவை வட்டத்தைத் தாண்டி நல்ல கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடிக்க எல்லா தகுதிகளும் கொண்டவர் தான் கவுண்டமணி. உருவம் சற்று மாறியிருந்தாலும் வயதான வேடங்களில் இயல்பாக அவரால் நடிக்க முடியும். என்றாலும் நாகேஷை திரும்பக் கொண்டுவர ஒரு கமல் இருந்தது போல் கவுண்டமணிக்கு யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்?

How can anyone not respect GM sir? He doesn't give two hoots to anyone and anything! How many times have we encountered some annoying specimens, only not to tell them off because of societal restrictions etc etc. Do you think GM cares? :-D
