He had his debut in "poovilangu"

"idhayam' "pagal nilavu" "puthu vasantham" are few movies to his credit during early years. Not to mention "vetri kodi kattu" , "aanandham" "porkalam" of recent times. Songs from most of his movies were quite hit.

கே.பாலச்சந்தர் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய வெற்றி நாயகர்கள் வரிசையில் இணைந்த குறிப்பிடத்தக்க நடிகர் முரளி.

shocked. considering his heavy drinking problems, it was very unfortunate that he chose to end his career and life this way, instead of staying healthy and fighting it out.
he had tremendous acting talent with ability to emote all flavours. A film like Endrum anbudan is not easy for any actor to do. I will remember the emotive eyes that constantly seemed to hold back a sea of tragedy behind them. Dies young to preserve the "Ever college hero " image. ironic to see him pass away while his young son make his debut. Will remember him forever for two performances...
1 Kaalamellaam kadhal vaazhga -climax scene
2. Alli thandha vaanam intro scene as fiery union leader confronting the evil boss - the casual but powerful way he uses the swear word - showed for a moment the actor he could have chosen to be over the mike holding soft college boy.
Anyways another solid talent bites the dust and marks his interview with the maker - a tremendous loss indeed.
Last but not least - he was always open to work with new comer directors unlike other heroes. deserves more appreciation for that fact.
Also next to karthik - he was one actor whose face suited Raaja voice well. personally a loss for many a raaja fan.

need to note the fact that he played couple of negative roles too in Radhika starrer "Kai veesamma kai veesu" and one more movie where he plays a college student who is a drug addict (Raghuvaran plays a rough police inspector in the same movie) - I forgot the name of the movie - it had the song vel muruganukku mottai onnu poda porom doi. It was preetty bold of him to do those two roles. In between he had a phase where he acted in Early PMK movies directed by Kaarvannan - one of which was "Paalam" which I remember for Day in the jackal style assassin.

I just came back after paying my last respects to Murali - He was , even at 47 , looking as youthful as he was when I first met him at the "Idhayam" film shoot in 1991. His Son told me that he had a normal day and went to sleep around 10 and when they tried to wake him up this morning he was gone.....peaceful way to go, yes, but way too young... will miss you Murali..

Most times, his fame remained silent but i think there was no bad performances or so, etc. I can recall his typical way of emoting, maybe its not great but it was original.

Exactly - a timely reminder of our mortality I guess. When a 60+ or 70+ artiste passes away, the 80's generation wouldnt probably feel it(unless as a die hard fan of that person). But Murali, the eternal college student of 80's - ouch, that is indeed a reminder that our time will also come. I dont really post in condolence threads but this is a very good point SP.

அவரின் இயல்பான நடிப்பை வேறுபடுத்தி பார்க்கத் தெரியவில்லை என்றே சொல்ல வேண்டும். நடிகர் ஒருவரின் மரணம் என்பதை விட, நாம் பார்க்கும் அன்றாட முகமாக திரையுலகில் வலம் வந்த சக மனிதரின் மரணம் என்ற பாதிப்பு குறிப்பாக எண்பதுகளில் கல்லூரி பள்ளி வயதை கடந்தவர்களுக்கு அதிகம் இருக்கிறது.

Exactly - a timely reminder of our mortality I guess. When a 60+ or 70+ artiste passes away, the 80's generation wouldnt probably feel it(unless as a die hard fan of that person). But Murali, the eternal college student of 80's - ouch, that is indeed a reminder that our time will also come. I dont really post in condolence threads but this is a very good point SP.

its honestly very traumatic to know that you are not going to see someone ever again - its a sinking feeling which has no limits downwards.......im slowly feeling the pinch of murali's loss - mani's first tamil hero, kannadiga who had a seamless tamil accent and supported eelam struggle, darling of the middle-class soft popcorn love stories of 90s.......

Murali's passing away came as complete shocker to me. I couldnt believe it for days. He was a fine actor. He excelled in his roles as angry young man in adharmam, iraNiyan, dEsaiya gItham while he was comfortable at home playing the love stuck hero yet to open up his mind to his girl.

BaaNa kaaththadi had a dialog where karunas say.... "ippO thaan theriyudhu unga appaa yean alpaayusula pOnaar-nu". So sad that it came true.
