Tamannaah Bhatia (Sindhi: तमन्ना भाटिया Tamannā Bhāṭiyā; born 21 December 1989) is an Indian film actress and model.[1] She has appeared in Tamil films and Hindi films. In 2005, she made her acting debut in her only Hindi film so far, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, before working in the major South Indian film industries.

Also in 2005, Tamannaah made her Telugu debut in Sri, and in the following year she appeared in her first Tamil film, Kedi. In 2007, she starred in two college-life-based drama films, Happy Days in Telugu and Kalloori in Tamil, which both earned her critical acclaim. Following commercial successes with Padikathavan (2009), Ayan (2009), and Paiyaa (2010), she established herself as one of the leading contemporary actresses in the Tamil film industry.[1][2] She also has experience as a model and has appeared in various television advertisement

Tamannaah started her acting career in 2005 when she played a heroine in Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, a Hindi film. It remains her only Bollywood release to date. The same year, she debuted in Telugu cinema in Sri, playing the leading female role opposite Manoj Kumar. In 2006, she made her debut in the Tamil film industry as a heroine starring in Kedi, which was produced by A. M. Rathnam, along with Ravi Krishna and another newcomer, Ileana D'Cruz.

In 2007, she had three releases. After her appearance in the unsuccessful Vyapari, she starred in the Sekhar Kammula-directed Telugu Happy Days, which received positive reviews and became her first major box office success. Her next release was the Tamil drama film Kalloori, directed by Balaji Sakthivel, that won her accolades and critical acclaim in Tamil as well.

In 2008, she again had three releases, but appeared in cameo roles in two of them. Her 2009 blockbuster Tamil film Ayan made her a leading star. Her recent film Kandein Kadhalai, which is a remake of the 2007 Hindi blockbuster Jab We Met, was considered a moderate success. She took the role originally played by Kareena Kapoor and was praised by critics for her performance. Her first 2010 release was Lingusamy's romantic-action flick Paiyaa, a huge hit. Her recent release was Sura with Vijay. She is currently acting in two Tamil films: Thillalangadi, alongside Jayam Ravi, and an untitled remake of the Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu, again alongside Karthik Sivakumar

In Paiyaa, it is one side love. In NMA the hero directly opens up his love to the heroine, the characterization is as such. And there are many interactions (in NMA) after they have fallen in love with each other. Hence there were some intimate scenes.

Our first shot was the kissing scene at the beach and surprisingly Kajal and I were comfortable from the day one. We never had any apprehensions or hesitations and hence the scenes have come out well. Kajal has a good sense of comedy timing. When we were dubbing, we were laughing continuously despite having seen the scenes repeatedly. It is a lot of comedy more than romance.

On Kajal Agarwal ?

Kajal Agarwal is an energy bomb who is always on a high energy level. I was wondering how she is going to perform subtly but she adapted herself very well and very quickly. She has a good screen presence and she is also a top heroine in Telugu. She has a command in front of the camera. Tamannah is very studious but Kajal is casual but delivers perfectly. May be the reason could be THAMMU comes throughout the film in PAIYAA whereas KAJAL is completely absent in SECOND HALF in NMA.

Dialogue is 50% (or more) of an acting performance.....I don't consider acting without voicing it to be real "acting", just miming appearance...that's basically what models do (or dancers). That's why national awards are only given to those who voice their lines...

May be that HARI's Film will be bought by SUN PICTURES... :)

What’s wrong in a heroine acting with the same hero in two films? How far is it fair to create an affair between them? Tamannaah is now asking these questions.

Referring to the media reports which talked about an affair between Tamannah and Karthi, after they paired up in two films in series, the heroine outrightly substantiates that she did not have any affair with anybody at all. “There were heroines who did altogether 20 to 30 films with a single hero. Why was there were no such reports that time?”

Speaking to reporters, Tamannah said: “Though I enjoy celebrity status as a star, it sometimes would pinch my heart hearing such comments. Always I am accompanied either by mom or dad to the shooting spots. I would be at home and ease only when I have them with me. But, I keep mingling with all on the shooting locations, and that reflects my professionalism. I treat the entire team as a family from the start to the finish of any project.”

“I am not a party-person. At present, I am doing Badrinath with Allu Arjun and another film with Naga Chaitanya. I am also currently doing a fim with Karthi in Tamil titled Siruthai,” she said.

@ Annan Honest : Thillalangadi was nowhere near the Jayam Bros previous flicks but still the movie did business and fetched profits. It can be tagged under the Hit category overall but w.r.t Chennai district it didn't do well and was an average grosser.

I remember reading an article on remakes in TOI where a distributor in Tiruchi district says that the film had fetched him good profits. Same case in Mdu also,,, The film's still there in few major theaters :D

Performance wise Ammu had improved on comedy and dance but the -ve aspect was excess Glamour in few scenes... To be honest it can be taken as an another not so good movie for her :neutral:

What’s wrong in a heroine acting with the same hero in two films? How far is it fair to create an affair between them? Tamannaah is now asking these questions.

Referring to the media reports which talked about an affair between Tamannah and Karthi, after they paired up in two films in series, the heroine outrightly substantiates that she did not have any affair with anybody at all. “There were heroines who did altogether 20 to 30 films with a single hero. Why was there were no such reports that time?”

Speaking to reporters, Tamannah said: “Though I enjoy celebrity status as a star, it sometimes would pinch my heart hearing such comments. Always I am accompanied either by mom or dad to the shooting spots. I would be at home and ease only when I have them with me. That's not true at all. For me, money is important but not more than working in a good project. Its the script and other factors which matter to me most.

First and foremost, I read the news in the media that I am in Vettai, before anyone even contacted me. I really wonder who spread the news, which was very unfortunate. And later I came down and heard the script and really liked it. But when it came to dates, there was an issue. I am currently doing two projects in Telugu and one in Tamil. I will be starting work on Hari sir's film with Dhanush soon and I have also signed another film with NTR for director Surendar Reddy. So how do I accommodate Vettai ?

I respect Lingusamy sir and loved working with him in Paiyya. But it was not possible for me to accommodate the film as my immediate priority is to the films that I have signed. Right now, I am overloaded with commitments.

I am from Mumbai, but today Chennai and Hyderabad are my home. As I don't venture out, go clubbing or partying, both the cities are same to me and I love them.
