Rachcha to hit floors on February 28

Young Tiger NT Rama Rao’s forthcoming film ‘Rachcha’ under the direction of Surender Reddy was formally launched a few days ago and the regular shooting of the film is most likely to start from February 28.

Tamanna was roped in as heroine opposite NTR in this movie, while BVSN Prasad (Chatrapati Prasad) is producing the flick on the banner of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra.

Once again Devisri Prasad is all set to score melodious tunes for this movie.

The shooting of ‘Shakti’ is almost nearing completion and NTR is not taking any more gap and is resuming shooting of ‘Rachcha’.

Naga Chaitanya, Sukumar Film titled I Love You Mahalakshmi

Young hero Naga Chaitanya’s forthcoming film under the direction of Sukumar (Arya 2 fame) has been titled ‘I Love You Mahalakshmi.’ The film is closer to completion, post productions works are presently going on.

Milky white beauty Tamanna Bhatia is playing the leading lady opposite Naga Chaitanya. Bunny Vasu is producing the film under the banner of Geetha Arts. Renowned producer Allu Aravind is presenting it. Film release is expected in March.

Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. It also includes remix version of Akkineni Nageshwara Rao’s famous song "Na Kallu Chebuthunayii" from ‘Premabhishekam.’

How long are we gonna quote Kallori as her best performance ever? And unlike you, I wouldn't be able to place KK or Anandha Thandavam in the list of good films she's done. Both films are just bad in my opinion.

Plus, the only reason why she got a role like in Kallori was because she was an upcoming actress back then. Small budget films can't afford big actresses, thus there's definitely no chance of watching her do another Kallori anytime in future.
And I got no hopes on Venghai either. Seriously, who was the last Hari's heroine who got a performance-oriented roles anyway? Coming in salwar kameez and pavadi dhavani throughout the film and doing glamorous stint during song sequences are not what you call performance.
At least telugu films offers better roles to the heroines than tamil films do. Forget about Arundhathi, even if she gets a role like in Bomarillu, Oy etc, they will do her a whole lots of good than what the current tamils films are doing to her.

Both HD and KIKK didnt work for me..very ordinary films IMO..Her role in that movies ellam jujubi..nothing challenging :) AT and KK were not great films but her ferfarmance :takeabow: UR gona see Sura/Thillagandi now in Telegu (referring to her next Telegu films) :) oh btw, Siruthai and Thillagadi were Telegu remakes :)

Coming to Vengai, Hari has always given decent roles to all his heroine..Definitely there will be some acting involved :)

Popular Tollywood producer Allu Aravind of the prestigious Geetha Arts recently made a striking revelation at Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad during the press meet of his latest film, directed by Sukumar with Naga Chaitanya and Tamannaah in the lead.

He said that South India's hot and happening girl Tamannaah was the first choice for his recent blockbuster Magadheera, starring Ram Charan Teja in the lead.

Speaking to the media, Allu Arvind said: "I heard the subject two and half years ago. Whatever subject Sukumar prepares, he would first narrate it to me. So, I heard it even before his Arya. Sukumar narrated the story to Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya and both of them liked it. I saw Happy Days and booked Tamannaah's dates for Geeta Arts long back. Actually, we thought of Tamannaah as heroine for Magadheera, but it didn’t materialize for her." The role later went to Kajal Aggarwal.

Tamannaah, who was also present, said: "After a gap of one year, I am doing this straight film in Telugu. Don't worry STL. Watch a few Telugu films and you'll be able to make out the language more or else. That's how I came to understand Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi...by watching films. If Tamannah can speak Telugu fluently after a few years in the industry, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to understand the language in no time as well :)

Thank God :lol: The tamil version was a drag. And the girl who played the lead didn't have even an ounce of Tamannah's charm in HD. Glad Tamannah acted in the original version and not the remake. Happy Days is a film I wouldn't mind watching again and agai, thanks to the nonchalant acting of all the lead characters :-D

Dhanush and Tamannaah are shooting a song for Hari directed Venghai in the cool climes of Munnar.

It is a very romantic melody song tuned by DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), which everybody on the sets is humming.

The song is being picturised in some new locations in Munnar, where maximum number of romantic songs has been picturised.

Dhanush had tweeted that he is not able to tweet as mobile signals are weak and there is no internet connectivity.

THE WA(I)STING OF TAMANNAH!

About the same time last year everyone was so much delighted with Tamannah Bhatia. She was making all the right moves in Kollywood; playing roles that endeared her to the audience, not going down the glamour route, choosing with wisdom and even getting more familiar with Tamil than any other North Indian import.

Look at the initial phase of her career and she had garnered more respect from audiences and critics than most of her contemporaries who were trying to do the same. The way she chose movies like Kalloori and Happy Days (Telugu) told us that she was prepared to do things that were not conventionally stardom material. And, what was

even better is the fact that she was doing them all with a fair measure of success. Of course, there was the occasional commercial outing like Padikkathavan. But, you have to give that to an actress who works in an industry which runs basically on commercial content.

2009 and early 2010 were years that basically cemented her place as an actress who had been accepted by the audiences. The variety of roles she had in that year were truly praiseworthy, starting from the routine heroine act in Ayan, to the disillusioned with life woman in Anandha Thandavam and the bubbly but confused girl in Kanden Kadhalai. Her innocent role in Paiya too was liked by the audiences. Yes, none of them were award winning performances or anything of that sort, but these were roles that sent the message that she was here to stay on her terms, for quality as well as success.

But, since Paiya, it has all been downhill for the lady. Yes, everyone has a bad patch now and again. But, analyzing her three movies since Paiya show that there has been a serious change in role selection criteria – at least it appears that way. When she was going great in Kollywood, why at all did she have to do Sura? The film appeared a completely jaded and jinxed project. It had nothing in it for the heroine (in fact it had nothing in it for anyone at all). Tamannah’s character in Sura could easily be one of the contenders for dumbest heroine of the decade infamy if there was one. The only justification that can be given for jumping onto such a project is the opportunity to star opposite Vijay. But that was an uncharacteristic decision from an actress who has shown the courage to work with newcomers.

Sura was a mistake, everyone makes them and it can be pardoned. But, it was followed up by Thillalangadi.and then Siruthai. Both remakes of Telugu blockbusters and both were conspicuous by the increased glamour quotient being offered by Tamannah. The glamour quotient is all right, but it is the way it is offered that makes it acceptable or repulsive. In both Thillalangadi and Siruthai, it was more of the latter than former because the heroine seemed to be kept in there for just that and nothing else. Some have said that ‘Tamannah was wa(i)sted in Siruthai’, literally! Really it all looked like nothing but a glorified item girl who gets to do duets with the hero in Thailand (rather than with the villain in a bar).

But, the most disappointing aspect of all is that there seems to be no originality in any of this. Well, one has to admit that there is very little reason in asking for originality in glamorous roles. Having seen Kanden Kadhalai (a remake of Hindi superhit Jab We Met), we know that she can do better than just a photocopy appearance in remakes.

But, cinema wisdom suggests that an actor is only as good as the character written for him/her and the director handling it, unless it is Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj or any other acting genius. It looks like the Tamil industry conspired to compromise the credentials that Tamannah had earned over a couple of years. And, it is funny to hear people within the industry grumbling about the lack of quality heroines. You get as good as you give! And at present, the Tamil film industry doesn’t seem to deserve the better Tamannah, it is happy with the wa(i)sted version.

First time, I m eagerly awaiting for a 'NON-TAMIL' MOVIE relaese...


Naga Chaitanya movie finally gets a title and it is official. Directed by Sukumar and presented by Geeta Arts this movie is titled “100% Love”. After considering n number of titles the unit has zeroed upon this one as it was true to the genre of the film and totally urbane.

Tamanna is playing Naga Chaitanya’s love interest in this film. Sukumar who proved his worth as a director with brains with his earlier outings yet again impresses one and all with the first look of 100% Love.

Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for this film and it is expected to release in April or May. Stay tuned for further updates on 100% Love.

i heard that Tammu is stuck in Telegu films because of the producer Allu aravind..Apparently Tammu signed a contract with Allu Aravind to do a few films under his banner... it happened years ago when she was not popular in telegu..While waiting Tammu entered Kollywood and became the no1 actress there..now shes being 'forced' to do those films..Even her salary is as per the contract she signed few years back

Tamannaah, heroine number one of Kollywood in 2010 who had two super hits recently, has for all practical purpose migrated to Tollywood.

She has just one live project Venghai with Dhanush, which is in the post-production stage.

Take a look at the lovely and hardworking Tammu's work sheet in Tollywood.

She has two films which will release in the summer of 2011- 100% Love with Nag Chaithanya and Badirinath with Allu Arjun.

She has two other films for which she is shooting- Rachcha and Manna Love Story, and has now signed a fifth film with Ram in Telugu!

So does this mean that the pretty Ayan girl has shifted to Tollywood.

When contacted Tammu told Sify.com: "It's not a planned strategy. It's just that I got such wonderful offers with some extraordinary scripts from Telugu that I signed them up. My role even if they are commercial films, is meaty and challenging".

On news that she has dubbed in her own voice for 100% Love, she smiles: "Yes I have dubbed for two reels and is waiting for my director's approval. I don't wish to speak anything about it now, as it's too early. But one day I will definitely dub in my own voice for both Tamil and Telugu films".

Engiruntalum nee valga :( Being in Malaysia, I cant follow her Telegu films..hope she plays her card well..

And Tammu was the no1 heroine in Tamil for 2 consecutive years...I think the brickbats she received for doing dumb roles has made her more careful in selecting her films...Guess Telegu directors gave her better roles this year :)

It has been a great innings for Tammannah in Tamil. The ‘Ayan’ actress has a good fan base in Tamil and Telugu. Tamannah has ‘100% Love’ and ‘Badhrinath’ in Telugu and in Tamil she is doing ‘Venghai’ opposite Dhanush. The film is being directed by Hari and this is the lead pair’s second stint together; the first being ‘Padikadhavan’.

Like his films director Hari is quite fast-paced in completing the film quickly. Reports close to the film’s crew indicate that a song has been shot with the lead pair in attendance.

This is the only Tamil film for Tamannah as of now. There are also reports that the actress is now concentrating on her Tamil diction. Tamannah wants to dub in her own voice for her Tamil films in future and seems to be learning the language, suggest reports.

That’s a pretty decent move Tamannah, considering her many roles in Tamil it will do the actress good if she is able to dub in her own voice. There are many actresses who dub in their voice for their films. It helps a lot in getting the expressions right suggest experts.

It has been a great innings for Tammannah in Tamil. The ‘Ayan’ actress has a good fan base in Tamil and Telugu. Tamannah has ‘100% Love’ and ‘Badhrinath’ in Telugu and in Tamil she is doing ‘Venghai’ opposite Dhanush. The film is being directed by Hari and this is the lead pair’s second stint together; the first being ‘Padikadhavan’.

Like his films director Hari is quite fast-paced in completing the film quickly. Reports close to the film’s crew indicate that a song has been shot with the lead pair in attendance.

This is the only Tamil film for Tamannah as of now. There are also reports that the actress is now concentrating on her Tamil diction. Tamannah wants to dub in her own voice for her Tamil films in future and seems to be learning the language, suggest reports.

That’s a pretty decent move Tamannah, considering her many roles in Tamil it will do the actress good if she is able to dub in her own voice. There are many actresses who dub in their voice for their films. It helps a lot in getting the expressions right suggest experts.

Naga Chaitanya and Tamannah starrer '100% Love' is all set to hit the screens on April 29th. Incidentally, Rana's 'Nenu Naa Raakshasi' is also releasing on the same day. Bunny Vasu is producing this movie on Geeta Arts banner.

Devi Sri Prasad composed music for this film and Sukumar directed it. The audio will be launched soon.It has been over an year since Nagachaitanya had a release.His last film was 'Ye Maya Chesave' which released last February.

Though this film was supposed to release for this Sankranti, it got postponed due to Tollywood strike.

"We got good trade response for this film.The audio is going to be launched soon in the presence of film personalities. This is a summer special love entertainer with complete commercial sensibilities. We are sure it will do well at the box office" said Bunny Vasu, the producer.

Basic reason why Tamannaah re-entered Tollywood leaving Kollywood is to expand her number one image all across the South film industry. Tamannaah`s diary is full. Gone are the days when she vied for roles in Tollywood,now the lucky girl finds it difficult to adjust her call sheets, in both Telugu and Tamil.

"I am thrilled at the Tollywood market and at the love and affection of the Telugu people. Whenever I lose a project in Telugu, I feel very sad. I really cherish superb friendship with stars here. But, my busy schedules make me forego several projects.

"At the same time, I am finding it difficult to leave the Tamil industry. There is absolutely no truth in the reports that I am demanding huge amounts. I am getting paid the worth that I am and I have no qualms about it. To adjust my call sheets liberally, I wish the year would have another set of 365 days," Tamannaah said.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah`s Badrinath and 100% Love are getting ready for release in the coming weeks. "Badrinath is an action and mass flick, while 100% Love is a romantic entertainer", she said. She is also set to star opposite NTR and Ramcharan in the ensuing projects.

Working on Hari's Venghai with Dhanush has been a pleasant experience for Tamannaah. And that's because the actress says she got to work in an environment that was professional and organized, and at the same time, friendly.

"Hari is a fast worker and his schedules are planned well in advance. There was not a single glitch while shooting for this film. He doesn't get hyper and lets his artists relax. The talkie portions were shot so very quickly. In fact, I feel like I've just started work on the film and now, it's close to completion. We just have one song to shoot," begins the actress.

She recently shot in Munnar with the Venghai team and fell so much in love with the place that she wishes to go there often. "I've shot in Ooty and Manali before, but this was my first visit to Munnar. We canned a song and a few sequences in those pretty landscapes. Munnar looks like an exotic foreign town and I think the Tamil film industry should shoot there as much as possible," she says, voicing her love for the hill station.

Venghai is a commercial film, set in a rural backdrop. "After Kalloori, I get to play a woman sans make-up. I have a very simple look in the film but my role is meaty," she says and quickly adds, "It feels good to do something fresh. You get tired of doing glam roles after some time. Venghai is a refreshing change."
She continues, "I got to pose with a sickle for the first look of the film. I can safely say I didn't get paid just for being part of the songs in this film. I've a good role in it too!"

Meanwhile, Tamannaah also tried her hand at dubbing for a Telugu film, 100 Per Cent Love. "I've just attempted to dub; I don't know if my voice will be used," she smiles. So, will she dub for her character in Venghai as well, given that her Tamil is pretty good? "But I have to get the slang right! Telugu is similar to Hindi because of the extensive use of Sanskrit words and so I tried dubbing. Moreover, one doesn't get to work with director Sukumar often. What Kandein Kadhalai did for me in Tamil, I'm hoping 100 Per Cent Love will do in Telugu," she says.
The actress, however, hasn't yet signed any other Tamil film of late. "I've three Telugu films in the making and two more on which I'll start work soon. After I complete my commitments in Telugu, I will be back to Kollywood."

The music of Naga Chaitanya, Tamanna starrer 100% Love will be released on April 8th, while the film is scheduled for April 29th release. Producer Bunny Vasu says, "Sukumar and Devi Sri Prasad have given many a musical hits together such as Arya, Jagadam and most recently Arya 2. Songs like Feel My Love [Arya] and Uppenantha [Arya 2] hardly need an introduction. They left an imprint in the hearts of the audience forever. Similarly, most of the tracks in this album are situational and have a soothing feel. This album will surely appeal to the youth."

Describing the film as a simple love story, director Sukumar says, "The emotion in the second half is the USP according to me. Both Naga Chaitanya and Tamanna have performed well. 100% Love would not have been possible if not for their performance. Devi Sri Prasad has once again come up with excellent music." Veteran producer Allu Aravind presents the film under the Geetha Arts banner. Edida Raja is the executive producer.

They do it out of necessity, because all the masala audience wants is imported "actresses".
But, they are hypocrites, so they don't want to suffer poor diction either.
Maybe should try raising the audience standards...

In Sneha's case, she was practically forced to dub in Pirivom Santhipom. I remember reading one article where Karu Palaniappan asked her to go for many rehersals as he was not happy with her pronunciation. So, why go through all the trouble of dubbing when you can ask someone else to do it? In these days, actresses only opt for dubbing when they're eyeing the National Award.

Mahen / Prashant, is it really necessary for a tamil film heroine to have dialogues. Thier dialogue scenes can be replaced with more "punch" by giving even more space to Heroes. The directors should think about it. The Mass effect of the Heroes would increase. And now-a-days multi-hero projects are comming up. So they really need more room. When 2 heroines act togehter they add 2 kuthu Pattu and don't take time to switch clothes for them. For heroes, the fans would say their icon accepts multi-starer is a good sign/trend setter. For the rest - Thaniya nadicha padam oda matingudha, athan "multi-star" endra perula "guest-role" panraru. Any which way, I sincerely feel that dialogues are not necessary for Heroines.

Dhanush missed going for the world cup finals at Mumbai, as he had to be in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, for Venghai song shoot.

Remember the actor and his wife Aishwarya went for the exciting semi-final's against Pakistan at Mohali?

The Venghai song shoot commitment was made a few weeks back, so he could not postpone it as all arrangements were made in advance.

Dhanush was shooting the song along with Tamannaah, who plays a village girl in the film.

Venghai is an action packed family entertainer directed by Hari, with music by Devi Sri Prasad. In all Hari movies there will be a dream song of the hero and heroine singing a fast number in a foreign location.

Hari's Singam song 'En Idhayam' tuned by DSP and picturised on Suriya and Anushka was a super hit.

Now Venghai's foreign song being shot in KL on Dhanush and Tammu is sure going to rock to the peppy tune set by DSP. The song is being choreographed by Brinda.

Dhanush will be back in Chennai by Thursday evening. He has already tweeted that he will be watching his eagerly awaited Maapillai with fans at Albert Theatre on Friday (April 8) noon show.

And hence only for heroines it has become a requirement for dubbing to be so prevalent. And since dubbing is seen as "normal" for heroines, even those who actually know Tamil can take the easy way out and get someone else to dub, since nobody expects them to do it anyways.

Mahen / Prashant, is it really necessary for a tamil film heroine to have dialogues. Thier dialogue scenes can be replaced with more "punch" by giving even more space to Heroes. The directors should think about it. The Mass effect of the Heroes would increase. And now-a-days multi-hero projects are comming up. So they really need more room. When 2 heroines act togehter they add 2 kuthu Pattu and don't take time to switch clothes for them. For heroes, the fans would say their icon accepts multi-starer is a good sign/trend setter. For the rest - Thaniya nadicha padam oda matingudha, athan "multi-star" endra perula "guest-role" panraru. Any which way, I sincerely feel that dialogues are not necessary for Heroines.

The point is - even in that minimum scenes/dialogues these girls are not able to act properly. Score pandradhukku neraya scenes vendiyadhilal..just a frame is enough.. check vadivelu in singaravelan...or the 80's heroines who got the same minimal oppurtunities while acting with Kamal/Rajni masalas.

In interviews they dont speak proper Tamil . How can we expect them to dub for their movies?

Actress Tamanna whose only Tamil movie so far is Venghai opposite Dhanush, is likely to sign another movie in Tamil, who is busy with Telugu movies like Badhrinaadh with Allu Arjun, 100% Love with Naga Chaitanya, Rachcha and Mana Love Story.

According to the latest buzz, Tamanna will be starring in eth Tamil remake of last year's hit Hindi movie Band Baaja Barat. The movie produced by Yash Raj Films, has Anushka Sharma and debutant Ranveer Singh in the lead.

In the Tamil version, Tamanna will reprise the role of Shruti Kakkar, portrayed by the Delhi girl Anushka Sharma who aspires to be a a Wedding Planner!

Earlier too Tamanna had played the role of Kareena Kapoor for Kanden Kadhalai, the remake of Jab We Met. So we guess, this remake will be handled easily by our actress, if at all she signs the dotted line.

The actress when contacted had told that she was approached for the role, but nothing is finalized as of now. We wonder who will don the hero's role, a newcomer or some established hero!

Accepted. That done : Given a whole movie in front of them, how many "Heroes" are "able to act properly". Acting is altogether "orphaned" by some of the "so called" Heroes.

Actingwise too - they are bad compared to other heroes..but there is no succesful hero who is absolutely intolerable like the heroines who doesnt know what they speak or why they speak it.

I can even give you name(s) of "succesful tamil hero" whose films initially worked only because of "one" Heroine. Overnite stardom does not dim the reality. Its just that we close our eyes and accept to live in the darkness, calling ourselves "Sincere Fans".

Tamanna's absolutely flawless face and fair complexion fetched her more roles that were suited to middle class and wealthy family girl kind of stories, but will she fit into a village belle's character well? One remembers at the preview of Ananda Thandavam in 2009 which eventually tanked at the box office she was watching her work as if it was her debut project and was eager to know her mistakes, where she faulted. She absorbs everything like a piece of sponge and works towards perfecting her shot, a very easy-going personality with no airs or tantrums, directors cite that she's an absolute pleasure to work with.

Tamanna adds on her work, "What I have learnt over the years is to relax in front of the camera, a lot of good work happens when you try not to be superficial and enjoy, live for that moment. I often marvel at Chaitanya's performance, he is so effortless in front of the camera. After crossing the language hurdle initially, I have begun to concentrate on giving a depth to my work. I think I've been fortunate enough to have the best films, a perfect mix both of Telugu and Tamil."

Tamanna says for certain people a 'meaningful' film means an art project which might not reach to most people. In her opinion, what matters to her is that the masses, the maximum people should watch her film, enjoy the complete three hours and feel like coming back again. No wonder when you ask her what she is doing in a complete hero-oriented project like Badrinath she says, "Bunny cannot do a heroine's role right, for that I'm there." She adds that it is a total contrasting character to what she did in 100% Love and is glad for doing a variety at this point of time.

She is willing to talk about Raccha starring NTR and Mana Love Story with Ram at an appropriate time. Around half a dozen heroines from the South are trying their luck in Hindi cinema, what about her? She says firmly that she refuses to plan her career because nothing that she ever planned worked out in her favour and she's quite happy with the way her career is progressing. "If Hindi Cinema is in my destiny it will come to me no matter what," she signs off.
