thank u very much 4 ur quick reply sir. I have been going thru these pgs 4 past 6 months only now Iam a registered in this forum. When I go 2 a dvd shop I find only regular movies of Sivaji sir like Gauravam, Karnan etc I could not find enaipol oruvan, Sanjeevi etc could ppl who have a great rapport with industry sort out this issue by getting copyrights 4om makers of many such old movies of Sivaji sir. But recently I got RatapaasaMm 4om modern Cinema. Also a sincere request when s the grand re release of Karnan & Thangapadakam

நமது NT FAnS சொசைட்டியின் தொடக்க விழாவிற்கும், பின் அன்றைய நிகழ்வுகளை வீடியோ மூலம் கண்டும் தின,வார இதழ்களில் வாசித்தும் இங்கே வாழ்த்திய அனைத்து அன்புள்ளங்களுக்கும் என் மனமார்ந்த நன்றி! வெளியூர் பயணத்தினாலும், வேலை பளு காரணமாகவும் உடனே நன்றி சொல்ல இயலவில்லை! மன்னிக்கவும்.

இந்த முயற்சியில் பெரும் பங்காற்றிய/பங்காற்றி கொண்டிருக்கும் ராகவேந்தர் சார் அவர்களுக்கு எவ்வளவு நன்றி சொன்னாலும் மிகையாகாது! அது போல் இந்த அமைப்பைப் பற்றி அது எப்படி அமைந்தால் சிறப்பாக இருக்கும் என்பது பற்றி பேச வேண்டும் என்று நான் அழைத்த போது பல ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமைகளில் வந்து கலந்து கொண்ட சுவாமி, சாரதி, ராதாகிருஷ்ணன், கிருஷ்ணாஜி, மோகனரங்கன், வாசுதேவன் ஆகியோருக்கு என் உளங்கனிந்த நன்றி!

அது போல் கடந்த மாதம்தான் அறிமுகமானார் என்ற போதிலும் எங்களுடன் அழைப்பிதழ் கொடுப்பதிலிருந்து அனைத்து வேலைகளுக்கும் உறுதுணையாக இருந்த நண்பர் மதுகர் என்ற சுந்தர ராமனுக்கும் நன்றி! விஜயதசமியன்று பூஜையை சிறப்பாக நடத்திக் கொடுத்தது முதல், அமைப்பின் துவக்க விழாவன்று விருந்தினர்கள அனைவர்க்கும் [அவர்கள் பார்த்தால் பசி தீரும் என்ற உணர்வில் இருப்பவர்களாக இருந்தபோதும்] ஸ்நாக்ஸ் என்ற வகையில் இனிப்பும் காரமும் வழங்கிய இதய ராஜா கணேசன் அவர்களுக்கு நெஞ்சார்ந்த நன்றி!

விழாவன்று வரும் மக்களுக்கு உறுப்பினர் படிவத்தை வழங்கி, அந்த நிரப்பபட்ட படிவத்தை மீண்டும் அவர்களிடமிருந்து பெற்றுக் கொண்டு அவற்றை பாதுகாப்பாக அடுக்கி வைக்கும் முக்கியமான வேலையை ஏற்று செய்ய முடியுமா என்ற என் வேண்டுகோளை உடனே ஏற்று அதற்காக நுழைவு வாசலில் அமர்ந்து [அங்கே அமர்ந்திருந்தால் விழா நிகழ்வுகளை சரியாக பார்க்க முடியாது என்ற போதிலும்] அனைத்து படிவங்களையும் சரியாக ஒப்படைத்து சென்ற நமது நண்பர் ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்களுக்கும் அவருக்கு உறுதுணையாய் இருந்த சிவாஜி யாஹூ க்ரூப்ஸ் நண்பர் பாலதண்டாயுதபாணி அவர்களுக்கும் என் சிரந்தாழ்ந்த நன்றி!

நண்பர் நிகில் முருகன் அவர்கள் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்த வீடியோ படமாக்கத்தில் எங்களின் பங்களிப்பை பற்றி பெரும் ஆதரவாக பேசிய திரு மோகன்ராம் சார் அவர்களுக்கும், மேடையில் வைத்து எங்களின் முயற்சிதான் இதற்கு பின்னால், நான் அவர்கள் சொன்னதனால் தலைவர் பதவியை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டேன் என்று பெருந்தன்மையுடன் எங்களை முன்னிலைப்படுத்திய திரு.ஒய்.ஜி.மகேந்திரா அவர்களுக்கும்,அதே மேடையில் எங்களின் முயற்சிக்கு பாராட்டும் ஆதரவும் தெரிவித்த தளபதி ராம்குமாருக்கும் எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த நன்றி! எங்கள் அழைப்பை ஏற்று வருகை தந்த அனைத்து கலை உலகத்தினருக்கும் பொது மக்களுக்கும் ரசிகர்களுக்கும் நன்றி! நன்றி! நன்றி!

இப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு அமைப்பு இன்று உருவாகியிருக்கிறது என்றால் அதற்கு முதல் காரணம் நமது Forum Hubதான் என்பதில் இரு வேறு கருத்துக்கு இடமில்லை. 2006 மார்ச் முதல் கிட்டத்தட்ட இந்த 6 வருடங்களில் எனது/எங்களது அனைத்து செயல்களுக்கும் ஆதரவும் ஊக்கமும் அளித்த RR அவர்களுக்கும் NOV அவர்களுக்கும், மாடரேட்டராக இருந்த காலகட்டத்தில் பல்வகையில் ஆதரவளித்த ஜோவிற்கும் நன்றி என்று சொல்வது வெறும் வாய் வார்த்தையன்று!

இந்த பிப்ரவரி மாதத்தில் சிறப்பம்சம் விக்ரம் புரொடக்ஷன்ஸ் நிச்சய தாம்பூலம் திரைக்காவியத்தின் 50வது ஆண்டு நிறைவு. 09.02.1962 அன்று வெளியாகிய இத்திரைப்படம் ரசிகர்களின் மிகவும் விருப்பமான படங்களில் ஒன்று. அதே போல் குறிப்பிடத் தக்க மற்றொரு படம் பூங்கோதை. பின்னாளில் வெளியான அந்தமான் காதலி திரைப்படத்தின் கதை இப்படத்தை சற்று ஒத்திருக்கும். நடிகர் திலகத்துடன் நாகேஸ்வரராவ் நடித்து அஞ்சலி தேவி, பண்டரிபாய் நடித்துள்ள இப்படம் தனது 50வது ஆண்டில் நுழைகிறது. அதே போல் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் மிகச் சிறந்த நடிப்பில் மற்றொரு திரைக்காவியம் கருடா சௌக்கியமா தனது 30வது ஆண்டினை நிறைவு செய்வதும் இம்மாதமே.

இவையனைத்தையும் மிஞ்சும் வண்ணம் காலத்தை விஞ்சி நிற்கும் உத்தம புத்திரன் திரைப்படமும் பிப்ரவரியில் வெளியானது குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது.

Sorry for the late welcome! The serial you are referring to was telecast sometime in the 90s and was directed by Ka.Bharath, the script writer of NT movie Aanada Kanneer that came out in 1986. Later Bharath did this serial, the only serial that NT and Prabhu had acted. Not sure about the links. May be Raghavender Sir/Vasudevan might help.

Additional info is this is the Bharath who is directing the present Thirumbi Paarkiren in Jaya TV, where yesteryear cine personalities pour out their hearts.

Sivaji - an actor par excellence! What a a screen presence he portrayed. For most of us, core fans of this great Sivaji Ganesan, living in India or abroad, Sivaji had been more like a family member. We'd continue to miss him. Whenever I see his old movies, I always wondered if there could be another Sivaji in our life time. Ragul, your question is incomplete. Are you asking whether this movies are available in DVDs/CDs? If so most of the movies you had listed is not available. Probably you will remember the list Raghavender Sir posted last week regarding the non availability of films and you can check there.

நமது தமிழ் நாட்டைப் பொறுத்தவரை அதிகமாக misuse செய்யப்படும் வார்த்தை என்னவென்றால் சாதனை என்ற வார்த்தைதான். அதிலும் சினிமா உலகில் இது மிகவும் அதிகமாக புழங்கும் ஒன்று. ஆனால் அது பயன்படுத்தப்படும் பின்புலத்தையோ அல்லது என்ன லாஜிக்கில் சொல்லப்படுகிறது என்று பார்த்தோம் என்றால் ஒன்றுமே இருக்காது. அந்த காலத்திலேயே ஒரு வருடத்தில் ஒரே ஒரு படத்தை மட்டுமே ரிலீஸ் செய்து விட்டு அது 100 நாள் ஓடியது, அதனால் அது பெரிய சாதனை என்று மார்தட்டுகிறார்கள். பழைய நாட்களிலே இந்த அள்ளி விடுதல்கள் ஆரம்பித்து விட்டன. சரி இப்போது எதற்கு அந்த கதை என்கிறீர்களா? சொல்கிறேன்.

One of the biggest blockbusters of 1974 was a film from Sivaji Ganesan’s own production company, Sivaji Films. The film was the multi-award winner, THANGA PATHAKKAM, a tense family drama from master story teller Mahendran.

THANGA PATHAKKAM starred Sivaji Ganesan, K.R.Vijaya, Shrikanth, Premilla, Major Sunderrajan, Cho, V.K. Ramasamy
and others.

S.P. Choudhry (Sivaji Ganesan) is a dedicated policeman, caring husband and a respected man in the community. Being a policeman, however, makes him a strong disciplinarian, even at home.

Because of Choudhry’s dedication to hs job, his son, Jagan, grows up more under the care of his mother Lakshmi (K.R.Vijaya) than under his father.

As Jagan grows up he becomes more and more rebellious. He begins to play truant, gamble and lie to his parents. Choudhry’s attempts to discipline him only results in Jagan resenting him.

The rest of the movie deals with clash after clash between father and son and the mother caught in the crossfire. Can Jagan (Shrikanth) reform and thereby unite his family? You will have to see the film to find out.

With a synopsis like this, one can forgive the younger viewer for dismissing this as a corny plot. It’s not – although it so easily could have been. One of the reasons for this is Mahendran’s scripting which is generally hard-hitting and razor sharp in the scenes featuring the clashes between father and son.

Sivaji’s acting is riveting and can surely be used as visual lessons for budding actors. K.R. Vijaya has put in a splendid performance. Shrikanth, as the adult Jagan, was probably in the best role of his career. Premilla as his wife also puts in a memorable performance. V.K.Ramasamy, Major Sundarrajan and Cho in a dual role do enough to maintain the standard of the film.

Mellisai Mannar M.S. Visvanathan’s music is very pleasing. All the songs from the film were hits. These include 'Sodhanai Mel Sodhanai', 'Sumaithaangi Saayndhaal' and 'Nallathoru Kudumbam'. Visvanathan’s background score is excellent and is instrumental in creating the perfect backdrop for each scene.

Thanga Pathakkam did more than bag four awards – including Best Actor for Sivaji Ganesan and Best Film, it was also a box-office hit. This film was later remade into Hindi under the title 'Gold Medal'.

Thanga Pathakkam has story and scripting by Mahendran and is produced by Shanthi Narayanaswamy and T. Manohar. The film is directed by P.Madhavan

Fabulous movie. It showed to packed houses in my hometown in 1975. The movie was screened in the largest cinema right in the center of the small town. It was like a carnival with cars and people everywhere. I don't think i have seen anything like that before.The man who distributed the film in my hometown in Malaysia went on to become a good friend of the legend.

Went 2 Woodlands matinee show today. The theatre was barely housefull. But the confrontation scenes between Srikanth & Sivaji sir got many applause also twinkle twinkle ryhmes by sivaji sir got huge applause. Cho's comedy was also well recieved (hope u understand whom he mimicks) Also the print was just ok. But 4 next show it was a grand celebration showing camphor, breaking coconuts, huge garlands were put to sivaji's photos.

As usual it was a grand gala evening with all the paraphernalia attached to the celebrations [as ragul had mentioned above] were in place but there was something amiss [at least for me], may be the ambiance of Shanthi was the difference. Normally the celebrations and fun happenings have an added colour tone at Shanthi. The fact that last 4,5 movies were at Shanthi had impersonated the mind. Anyhow all traffic came to a stand still for quite some time and all heads travelling in vehicles to and fro from Royapettah turned sideways to catch the fun and for them it was always astonishment.

Now the celebrations inside the theatre were not in the scale that one sees regularly in Shanthi. People were more disciplined but every important scene was received with thunderous applause. As Ragul said print was ok without major cuts.

Watching the thespian perform, one thing that struck firmly was this man was made for acting and the nuances he exhibits are plenty to talk about. One scene which made my day was the one when he walks into the hall from dining room and having washed his hands and with a towel in his shoulders uses his tongue to clear something in his mouth [as we normally do] and seeing the security block Major from entering the house, gesticulates with his hand to send him in. What a body language!

One can go on writing about each and every scene and surely it should be one of Mahendran's best screenplays and dialogue that he wrote for films that he had not directed.

இந்த அளவுக்கு நேரடியாக செய்யும் துணிச்சலும் இல்லாமல் மறைமுகமாக செய்திருக்கிறார்கள் ..அதாவது நடிகர் திலகத்தின் பெயரை தமிழ் பெண் சொல்லும் போது நடிகர் திலகம் போல அபிநயம் செய்ய, தெலுங்குப்பெண் "உன்னோட ஓவர் ஆங்டிங்க நிறுத்துடி" என்று அந்த பெண்ணை சுட்டி சொல்வது போல அமைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் ..இது நேரடியாக பாலசந்தர் இயக்கும் தொடரா ? இருந்தால் பரிதாபமாக உள்ளது ..வசனங்கள் , காட்சி அமைப்பு , நடிப்பு எல்லாமே மொக்கையிலும் மொக்கை ..அபத்தத்திலும் அபத்தம் .

இவர்கள் யாரை திருப்திப்படுத்த இது போல நடிகர் திலகத்தை மறைமுகமாக கேலி செய்கிறார்கள் என தெரியவில்லை . ஆனால் இது போன்ற குதர்க்கப்புத்திக் காரர்களை அடையாளம் கண்டு கொண்டு புறக்கணிக்க நமக்கு உதவுகிறார்கள் . சூரியனைப் பார்த்து நாய்கள் குலைத்தால் அதற்காக நாம் வருந்தத் தேவையில்லை.

சிவாஜி கணேசனின் ரசிகர்களுக்கும், பழைய காலப் படங்களின் பிரியர்களுக்கும் மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கும் விதமாக, செவாலியே சிவாஜி நடித்த கர்ணன் படம் டிஜிட்டல் தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் உருமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டு மீண்டும் திரையரங்குகளில் திரையிடப்பட உள்ளது. மார்ச் மாதம் சுமார் 50 திரையரங்குகளில் திரையிடப்பட கர்ணன் படம், அதற்காக பிரத்யேகமாக டிஜிட்டல் தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் ஒலி, ஒளிப் பதிவுகள் நடந்து வருகின்றன. இதன் மூலம் சிவாஜி (கர்ணன்), ராமாராவ் (கிருஷ்ணன்) என இரண்டு மிகப்பெரிய ஜாம்பவான்களின் நடிப்பை மீண்டும் பெரிய திரைகளில் ரசிக்கும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கப்போகிறது. ரூபாய் 40 லட்சம் செலவில் 3 ஆண்டுகள் கடுமையாக உழைத்து கர்ணன் படத்தை டிஜிட்டல் தொழில்நுட்பத்திற்கு மாற்றியுள்ளனர். இத்திரைப்படத்தின் விநியோக உரிமையைப் பெற்றுள்ள சாந்தி சொக்கலிங்கம், கர்ணன் திரைப்படத்தை மீண்டும் பெரிய திரைகளில் பார்க்க ஆசைப்படுகிறேன் என்று கூறினார். தமிழ் திரைப்பட வரலாற்றையே புரட்டிப் போட்ட கர்ணன் திரைப்படம், நிச்சயமாக தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்கு வரப்பிரசாதமாக அமையும் என்று நம்புகிறோம்.

தவிர்க்க முடியாத காரணங்களினாலும் அவருக்கே சற்று இடைவெளி தேவைப்பட்டதாலும் சுவாமி இங்கே திரியில் எதுவும் பதியவில்லை. விரைவில் நீங்கள் குறிப்பிட்ட கர்ணன் வெளியீட்டிற்கு முன்னரே மீண்டும் வந்து கலக்க இருக்கிறார்.

அது போல் சில பல வேலைகளினால் வாசுதேவன் அவர்களாலும் வர இயலவில்லை. அது போன்றே முக்கியமான ஒரு வேலையில் மூழ்கி இருப்பதால் பாடல் அலசல் மன்னர் பார்த்தசாரதியாலும் வர இயலவில்லை. NT FAnS பிலிம் சொசைட்டியின் ஒரு சில முக்கியமான வேலைகளை செய்து முடிப்பதற்கு ராகவேந்தர் சாரும் நானும் சென்று விடுவதால் திரிக்கு நேரம் ஒதுக்க முடியவில்லை. [தங்கப்பதக்கம் ஞாயிறு மாலைக் காட்சிக்கு கூட இவர்கள் யாராலும் வர முடியவில்லை]. என்ன காரணம் என்று தெரியவில்லை, சாரதாவும் கார்த்திக்கும் கூட இந்த ஒரு மாதமாக காணவில்லை.

ஒரே நேரத்தில் இப்படி பலரும் வர முடியாத சூழலினால் திரி சற்று தொய்வு அடைந்துள்ளது. விரைவில் இந்நிலை மாறி மீண்டும் திரி புது பொலிவு பெறும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை.

இப்போதுள்ள நிலவரப்படி மெருக்கேற்றப்பட்ட கர்ணன் வெளியீடு மார்ச் மாதத்தில் திட்டமிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இந்த படம் சென்னையில் நான்கு திரையரங்குகளில் திரையிடப்படும் என தெரிகிறது. சாந்தி, சத்யம், சங்கம் மற்றும் கமலா திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகும் என்பது தற்போதைய நிலவரம். படம் வெளியாகும் தேதியைப் பொறுத்து சில மாற்றங்கள் இருக்கலாம். மார்ச் 15-ந் தேதி முதல் ஏப்ரல் 14 ந் தேதி வரை உள்ள ஒரு மாத கால இடைவெளியில் வெளியீடு இருக்கலாம்.

Will Karnan ring in a trend of old films being restored and re-released on the big screen?

‘They just don’t make them like they used to’. Most of us would have come across this common refrain from our elders at some point in our lives and, in most cases, it would be the films of today that invite such a remark. But film restoration has ensured the younger generation has a chance to catch these films on the big screen. Shanthi Chokkalingam, a citybased distributor, has restored the Sivaji Ganesan epic Karnan. He is planning to release the film statewide.

Film preservation is a popular concept in Hollywood where rerelease of classics happen every year and film studios and directors like Martin Scorsese actively take part. In India, we have seen restored, coloured versions of Mughal-e-Azam (2004), Maya Bazaar (2010) and Hum Dono (2011) being rereleased.

Karnan is the first Tamil film to be restored to its original glory. Says Chokkalingam, “Karnan made a huge impact on me during my childhood. With the help of technology, I wanted to bring the film back to the big screens to give audiences a taste of the movie’s grandeur and valuable message.”

But the path to making his dream come true was a very challenging one. “The sound negative was totally gone and the five to six reels from the picture negative were damaged to a great extent,” he says. The costs of restoration are certainly prohibitive. It costs over one crore rupees to scan each frame individually to the current industry standard of 2K resolution and restore them frame-by-frame. “A citybased studio told us that they will undertake this project as a special consideration. Till date, the project has cost me 40 lakhs and three years to complete,” he reveals.

Actor Y Gee Mahendra, who has started the Nadigar Thilagam Film Appreciation Society, a private film club for fans of the actor, says that they screen movies from DVDs as most films do not have their prints. “While film restoration is a very expensive process, the end result is something that you wouldn’t forget soon.

Watching battle scenes featuring 500 to 600 actual persons is grander than watching a scene in which the crowd is digitally created,” he says. Meanwhile, Chockalingam is trying to replicate the festivity that surrounded the film during its release in 1963 and is having a grand trailer launch of the film on Tuesday. “Most of our films have become so damaged that we will never be able to see them on the big screen. A classic example is Thillana Mohanambal, whose prints have been totally damaged. I’m happy that I was able to save Karnan which I’m sure will last for 100 more years after this restoration,” he says.

வந்திருந்த ரசிகர்களின் ஆரவாரம் அன்பு சகோதரர் ராம் குமார் வருகை புரிந்த போது விண்ணதிர வைத்தது என்றால் அது உண்மை. ராம் குமார் வடிவில் ரசிகர்கள் நடிகர் திலகத்தைப் பார்க்கிறார்கள் என்பது இன்று நிரூபணம் ஆனது.

நிகழ்ச்சியை சிறப்புற தொகுத்து வழங்கிய திரு மகேந்திராவும் வார்த்தைக்கு வார்த்தை உணர்ச்சிப் பிழம்பாய் உருகிய சேரன் அவர்களும் ரசிகர்களின் இதயத்தில் நீங்கா இடம் பெற்று விட்டனர்.

மேலும் அவர் ” சிவாஜி நடித்த உத்தமபுத்திரன் ஹாலிவுட் தொழில்நுட்பத்திற்கு நிகரான படம். ஹாலிவுட் ரேஞ்சிற்கு படம் எடுக்கிறோம் என்று சொல்கிறார்களே, சிவாஜி படம் அளவிற்கு யாராலாவது முயற்சியாவது செய்ய முடியுமா. சிவாஜி சிகிரெட் பிடிக்கும் போது விடும் புகைக் கூட ஒரு விதமான நடிப்பாகத் தான் இருக்கும்.

படங்களில் அவருடைய அழகை பிரதிபலிக்க போட்ட மேக்கப் எந்த ஹாலிவுட் கலைஞரால் போடப்பட்டது. எல்லாமே இங்கிருப்பவர்கள் செய்தது தான்.நான் ஒரு தீவிர சிவாஜி ரசிகன். இளம் வயதில் எல்லோரும் சிகிரெட் பிடிக்கத்தான் தீப்பெட்டி வைத்திருப்பார்கள். ஆனால் நான் என் தலைவன் சிவாஜி படத்திற்கு உள்ளங்கையில் சூடம் ஏற்றுவதற்காகத் தான் தீப்பெட்டி வைத்திருப்பேன்.

சிவாஜிக்கு சினிமாவில் மட்டும் தான் நடிக்கத் தெரியும். நிஜ வாழ்க்கையில் நடிக்கத் தெரியாது. அதனால் தான் அவரால் அரசியலில் ஜெயிக்க முடியவில்லை” என்று கூறினார் சேரன்.

நடிகர் திலகம் சிவாஜி கணேசன் நடிப்பில் வெளியான ‘கர்ணன்’ திரைப்படத்தை டால்பி சவுண்ட் தொழில்நுட்பத்துடன் புத்தம் புதிய பொலிவுடன் உருவாக்கியிருக்கிறார்கள். இன்றைய காலகட்டத்தின் தொழில்நுட்பத்துடன் உருவாகியிருக்கும் இப்படம், விரைவில் வெளியாக இருக்கிறது. இதன் டிரைலர் வெளியீட்டு விழா இன்று (பிப்.21) சென்னையில் நடைபெற்றது.
இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் கர்ணன் படத்திற்கு இசையமைத்த விஸ்வநாதன் – ராமமூர்த்தி, பாடல் பாடிய பி.சுசீலா, பாட்கர் பி.பி.சீனிவாஸ், படத்தின் இயக்குநர் பந்துலு சார்பாக அவருடைய குடும்பத்தார். படத்தில் நடித்த நடிகர்கள் சண்முகசுந்தரம், மாஸ்ட்டர் ஸ்ரீதர், வி.எஸ்.ராகவன் இயக்குநர் குகுநாதன், கமலா திரையரங்க உரிமையாளர் சிதம்பரம், சிவாஜியின் மூத்த மகன் ராம்குமார் உள்ளிட்ட பலர் கலந்துகொண்டார்கள். நடிகர் ஒய்.ஜி.மகேந்திரன் மற்றும் இயக்குநர் சேரன் நிகழ்ச்சியை தொகுத்து வழங்கினார்கள். கர்ணன் படத்தில் பங்குபெற்ற நடிகர்கள் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப கலைஞர்களுக்கு நினைவு பரிசு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
நிகழ்ச்சியில் பேசிய கமலா திரையரங்க உரிமையாளர் சிதம்பரம் பேசுகையில், “லண்டன் நாட்டில் ஒரு இடத்தில் உலகத்தில் உள்ள பிரபலமானவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் மெழுகு சிலை இருக்கிறது. நம்ம ஊரு அமிதாப் பச்சானுக்கு கூட இருக்கிறது. அவர் நல்லவர்தான். நான் என்ன சொல்றனே, அந்த இடத்தில நம்ம சிவாஜி கணேசனுக்கு ஒரு சிலை வைக்க வேண்டும். அதற்காக நம்ம தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் சங்கம், நடிகர்கள் சங்கம் யாராவது முயற்சி எடுக்க வேண்டும். அதற்கு என்ன செலவு ஆகிறதோ அதற்குண்டான செலவில் நான் ரூ.1 லட்சத்தை கொடுக்கிறேன்.” என்றார்.
அவரைத் தொடர்ந்து பேசிய இயக்குநர் சேரன், “அமிதாப் பச்சனுக்கு மெழுகு சிலை வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்றால் அவருக்கு ஒரு முகம் தான், ஒரு பாவனை தான். ஆனால், சிவாஜி சாருக்கு பல முகம், பல பாவனைகள். சிலை செய்பவர்கூட அவருடைய பாவனையை சரியாக செய்ய முடியாது அதனால்தான் அவருக்கு இதுவரை சிலை வைக்க வில்லை.
சிவாஜி சார் கலைக்காகவே வாழ்ந்த ஒரு சிறந்த நடிகர். அதனால்தான் அவரால் அரசியலில் ஜெயிக்க முடியவில்லை. வாழ்க்கையில் நடிக்க தெரியாத நடிகர் அவர். போலியாக பேச தெரியாதவர், அதனால்தான் அவர் அரசியலுக்கு வந்தபோது அவரை தஞ்சாவூரில் தோற்கடித்தீர்கள் நீங்கள். நான் ஒன்றை இங்கு கேட்கிறேன். ரீமேக் என்ற பெயரில் பில்லா, மாப்பிள்ளை என்று எந்த எந்த படத்தையோ மீண்டும் எடுக்கிறீர்களே, சிவாஜி சார் நடித்த ஒரு படத்தை ரீமேக் செய்து பாருங்களே பார்க்கலாம். அது முடியாது எந்த நடிகராலும், சிவாஜி போன்று நடிக்க முடியாது.
அதேபோல நான் இங்கே ஒரு வேண்டுகோளை வைக்கிறேன். சிவாஜி சார் படத்தலைப்புகளை பிற படங்களில் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கு தடை விதிக்க வேண்டும். அப்படி பயன்படுத்துவது ரொம்ப அசிங்கமாக இருக்கிறது.” என்று ஆவேசமாகப் பேசினார்.
கர்ணன் படத்தின் உலக உரிமையை ராஜ் தொலைக்காட்சியிடம் இருந்து பெற்று திவ்யா பிலிம்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தின் சார்பில் சாந்தி சொக்கலிங்கம் மறு உருவாக்கம் செய்து வெளியிடுகிறார்.

இன்று காலையில் நடைபெற்ற கர்ணன் trailer வெளியீடு விழாவைப் பற்றி இணைய தளங்கள் மூலமாகவும் ராகவேந்தர் சாரின் பதிவு மூலமாகவும் இங்கே அனைவரும் அறிந்திருப்பீர்கள். நானும் விழாவிற்கு சென்றிருந்தேன்.

முதலில் குறிப்பிட வேண்டிய விஷயம் வந்த கூட்டம். நிச்சயமாக இத்தனை பேர் வருவார்கள் என்பதை நான் நினைத்துக் கூட பார்க்கவில்லை. ஒரு வேலை நாளின் காலை வேலையில் சத்யம் திரையரங்கம் நிறைந்து வழிந்தது என்றால் அது சாதாரண விஷயம் இல்லை.

பல விஷயங்கள் இணையதளங்களில் வந்து விட்டன. அவர்கள் சொல்லாத விஷயங்கள் சிலவற்றை இங்கே சொல்ல வேண்டும். சேரன் மேடையில் இரண்டு நாற்காலிகளை மட்டும் சற்றே முன்னால் இழுத்து போட்டு அவை காலியாகவே இருக்க வேண்டும் காரணம் அவற்றில் நடிகர் திலகமும் பந்துலுவும் வந்து அமரப் போகிறார்கள் என்று சொல்லி செய்தது ரொம்பவே நெகிழ்சியாக இருந்தது. சேரனின் பேச்சு பற்றி நிறைய வந்து விட்டது. ஆனால் சேரன் உண்மையிலே ஒரு தீவிர நடிகர் திலகத்தின் ரசிகர் என்பதை சிவாஜி ரசிகர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே அதிக பரிச்சயமான, 60-களிலும் 70-களிலும் சிவாஜி மன்ற நிகழ்சிகளில் ஒலிப்பரப்பட்ட சிங்க தமிழனடா எங்கள் அண்ணனடா என்ற பாடலை பாடியதன் மூலம் நிரூபித்தார். சிவாஜியின் அரசியல் பற்றி பேசும்போது அவர் உணர்ச்சி பிழம்பாகவே [அவருக்கு பொய் தெரியாது பித்தாலாட்டம் தெரியாது, ஏமாற்ற தெரியாது] மாறிப் போக மகேந்திரன் அவரை சாந்தப்படுத்தினார்.

மாஸ்டர் ஸ்ரீதர் அன்று நடிகர் திலகத்துடன் நடித்த காட்சியை [அரசவையில் பேசுவது] அப்படியே நடித்துக் காட்டி அப்ளாஸ் அள்ளிக் கொண்டு போனார். பந்துலுவின் மகன் ரவிஷங்கர் உள்ளத்தில் நல்ல உள்ளம் பற்றி சொல்லும்போது என்.டி.ஆர். நடந்து போகும் ஒரு காட்சியைப் பற்றி கீழே நூற்றுக்கணக்கான ஆட்கள் இறந்து கிடப்பதும், தேர்கள் தலைக் குப்பற கிடப்பதையும் குறிப்பிட்டு அந்த காட்சி மாட்டும் நான்கு நாட்கள் எடுக்கப்பட்டது என்பதை பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார். அந்த காட்சியில் இந்திய ராணுவத்தினரையும் பயன்படுத்திக் கொண்டதையும் அவர் சொன்னார்.

ஆனந்தா பிலிம்ஸ் சுரேஷ் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் படங்கள் இது போல் மெருக்கேற்றி சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாக்களுக்கு அனுப்ப வேண்டும். அதற்க்கான முயற்சிகளை நான் செய்கிறேன் என்றார். கலைப்புலி சேகரன் தான் ஒரு விநியோகஸ்தராக நடிகர் திலகத்தின் படங்கள் மூலமாக லாபம் அடைந்ததை பெருமையோடு ஒப்புக் கொண்டார். கமலா தியேட்டர் சிதம்பரம் மறைந்த சத்ய சாய்பாபா நடிகர் திலகத்தை நடக்க வைத்து ரசித்ததை சொன்னதற்குதான் விழாவிலே அதிகமான கைதட்டல். இந்த முயற்சிக்கு பிறகு நடிகர் திலகத்தின் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட படங்களுக்கு இது போன்ற மெருகேற்றலுக்கு தங்களால் ஆன அனைத்து உதவியும் செய்வதாக ராம்குமார் உறுதி கூறினார். கண்ணுக்கு குலமேது பாடலின் சில வரிகளை சுசீலா அம்மா அவர்கள் அப்படியே பாட மொத்த அரங்கமும் கைதட்டி மகிழ்ந்தது.

இரவும் நிலவும் வளரட்டுமே, கண்கள் எங்கே, கண்ணுக்கு குலமேது மற்றும் உள்ளத்தில் நல்ல உள்ளம் பாடல்கள் முழுமையாக திரையிடப்பட்டன. தவிர படத்தின் சில காட்சிகளும் திரையிடப்பட்டன.

சுருக்கமாக சொன்னால் இரண்டு மணி நேரம் போனதே தெரியவில்லை.இப்படிபட்ட ஒரு முயற்சி எடுத்த சொக்கலிங்கம் அவர்களை எத்தனை பாராட்டினாலும் தகும். அவருக்கு உளமார்ந்த நன்றிகள்.

Is there any source of information about NT's visit to USA in his earlier days and appreciation he received by Hollywood actors. I know that as a token of appreciation he was made as a mayor of city of niagara falls for a day. If IIRC only Nehru had that kind of appreciation. Even Sarika was making movie about NT. Please provide resources related to that.

It was March 1962, when NT made his first visit to USA. It is a well chronicled history of how he completed Bale Pandiya in 12 days flat [imagine NT doing 3 roles and MRR did 2 roles] starting from March 2nd and finishing it on the morning of March 13th of 1962. The last day's shooting was for Vaazha Ninaithaal Vaazhalaam song and after completing the song, it seems that he straightaway headed to Airport asking his wife and children to come to Airport directly to see him off. Now coming to your main question, he was well received and well treated, the details of which came out in yesteryear magazines. In fact NT himself wrote a serialised travelogue regarding the trip which our Pammal Swaminathan had reproduced in his magazine Vasantha Maaligai. Swami is on a brief hiatus now and once he is back it can be reproduced here.

As for as Sarika's documentary was concerned, it didn't go beyond the planning stage though they had filmed the Chevalier award function held in 1995 as a part of their project.

Joe,

You are right. It is exam period but if they do it in April, there are new films which are getting released and finding good theatres will be difficult but more than that the distributor is worried about IPL. Normally the IPL starts by April 14th but this time it starts by April 3rd it seems. So they feel that IPL may eat into their revenues as many would be hooked to TV which would affect the collections for evening and night shows. Otherwise they have to wait till June but then they have invested considerable amount for which they would have to pay interest and they may not wait for that long. There is a positive feeling among fans and public that this would do well and let us hope it becomes true. It is imperative it does well because many distributors who are holding the rights for old films are waiting to see how Karnan does at BO and if it turns profitable then more old films would follow suit.

I think it is previously called as 'Pioneer Kumar' and now 'Pioneer Vasantham Palace' , in Ozhuginaseri , near KalaivaNar NSK's native house ..Not a good pick as I heard the sound system there is not good .. NT's fort Rajesh will be better choice.

Wow, I love to watch at Mappilai Vinayagar theatre, because of this theatre used to show only English movies and also one of good theatre in Madurai.

Karnan will over come all the obstacles including exams and is going to rule entire Tamil Nadu. Welcome to Karnan and prove again who is REAL Vasool King.

Dear all,

This week watched two NT movies Mutha Thedhi and Antha Naal. What is great and real performance. I just laughing when people talk of different kind of acting and just wish these people watch just few minutes of any one of the movies. What a performance and facial expression.

Just two example.

Muthal Thedhi.

NT goes to regular work to Bank after discussing about home budget planning with wife and come to know that Bank has been closed, just look at NT facial expression and could see how to manage whole family, just few seconds, excellent, marvelous and no words to describe.

Antha Naal.

NT speaks in the phone with some one from Japan and when his wife enters the room and NT's facial expression, wow no words to describe.

NT, we really miss you...

these scenes are wonderfully picturised and love it.

The film is getting released in Qube format which means it will be through Satellite transmission and not by the conventional print and therefore only the theatres which are fitted with the facility to receive satellite transmission are chosen for screening, I was told by the distributor. There is a possibility that one more theatre may be added at Nagerkovil.

NOV,

While speaking to the distributor Chokkalingam yesterday, I had enquired about the movie getting screened outside Tamilnadu and India and he said that the rights for the same has not been given to him nor to anybody else so far. He was guessing that probably Raj TV is waiting for the response and reception for the digital version and basis that they will quote the price it seems. That's the reason that they are not releasing it even in Bangalore where it seems the distributors were ready to lap it up for a huge amount.

Great news mr murali karnan has made a history while original release in jan 64 no other movie had so much talked befor like karnan i remember very well stream of visitors always visiting theatres just to enjoy the decorations. similarly it is creating another history now. definitely it is going to be a great success venture. not only sivaji rasigargal but also general public have started to talk of the movie.
