This is pretty much available for any new PC bought recently with Windows 7. OTOH, the regular upgrade packs sold by Microsoft are from $40 to $60 range.
Microsoft store is not selling the full retail version of the Windows 8 OS. But other sites like Amazon are selling both the OEM and the full retail version. I ordered the OEM version and it was at $80/-. If you can resolve your windows issues yourself without relying on Microsoft, you can go with OEM version. You can save $120/- since the retail version with support is getting sold at $190+ in some sites. Installation on my old Acer with 3GB memory was smooth for Windows 8. But the display flickers randomly due to problems with display drivers or graphics card.

I would say better try the development version on your system to check the compatibility or at least install it on a Type 2 hypervisor like Oracle Virtual Box or EMCs VM player before "going" straightaway with Windows 8.

I am thinking about the feasibility of installing some in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. There are impressive articles about the inventor Arunachalam Muruganantham and also a Ted talk by him.

Any reviews for Samsung Galaxy Advance S? Also would like to know ppl's opinions on buying a mobile with the latest Android OS out of the box vs buying a Gingerbread version and then later get the official update like whether such a thing will impact the phone's performance.

My colleague has it and has loved its performance so far. No upgrade to ICS it seems, it'll get an Jelly Bean update after the second week of Jan according to him
