‘Jayam’ Ravi is the one actor who often proves a hero need not utter punch dialogues or bash 10 baddies in one minute to deliver a hit. After a string of blockbusters to his credit, the actor is now gearing up for the release of 'Thillalangadi', a remake of Telugu hit 'Kick'.

Interestingly, the movie brings together the triumphant trio- ‘Jayam’ Ravi, his brother and director Raja, and his father and producer 'Editor' Mohan after a handful of super hits like 'Jayam', 'M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi' and 'Unakkum Enakkum'.

“Thillalangadi is totally different from Peranmai, my last venture. It is commercial entertainer. I changed my body language for the movie as I looked totally different for Peranmai,” says Ravi.

Throwing more light on ‘Thillalangadi’, Ravi says, "It is my fifth movie with my brother (director Raja). We share a good vibe and I am confident that this remake too will become a big hit in my career." Happy about sharing the screen with Tamannah, he says, "I admire her acting skills. She is sure to render justice to her role."

"I would like to establish that I am versatile and capable of meeting the demands of different types of scripts. I am taking steps to evolve as a complete actor. And 'Thillalangadi' will prove it," he adds.

Says director Raja, "Kick is a racy entertainer. I decided to remake it in Tamil immediately after watching it. Shaam is doing almost a parallel role, while Vadivelu is in a full length role. It is going to be an energetic entertainer. We shot non-stop for 30 days in Malaysia. Interestingly our earlier venture ‘M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi’ too was shot in the same place a few years ago."

Heaping laurels on the Malaysian government, he says, "We shot an action sequence on busy roads there with the permission from the police authorities. We shot the scene with three cameras and traffic came to standstill. Support from the Malaysian authorities was enormous."

"The highlight of the movie is a song featuring ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Tamannah that is set to tunes by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The song features dancers from various countries across Asia. It has been shot in a rich manner and has come really colourful," he adds.

'Thillalangadi also has Prabhu, Suhasini, Santhanam, Mansoor Ali Khan, Livingstone and Mayilsami. The camera is handled by Rajasekhar, a former assistant of Jeeva and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. [/tscii:b1f63c4920]

PERAANMAI PRESENTED WITH AWARD

The organization Kaavalar Podhumakkal Nalluravu has presented the Podhumakkal (People Award) Virudhu to the crew of Peraanmai recently..The award was given by R Periasamy, Tamilnadu Information Commissioner and Kavignar.K Balasubramaniam(Retd.Joint Director). Director S.P Jhanathan, Actor Jayam Ravi, Actress Vasundhara, Liyasree,Dhanshika,Saranya and Krishnasamy (Ayngaran) were among the others who were present at the award function..

The actor is very elated to team up once again with his brother and is now busy with Aadi Bhagavan with ameer. The actor also has Ich by prabhu deva slated to release in 2011 ....Ich is said to have 11 tracks and is expected to give more thrust to music that is scored by harris jeyaraj..the film is now in its pre production stages..

CAN PRABHU DEVA CONVINCE KATRINA?

Director Prabhu Deva is keen on roping in Katrina Kaif for his next film, which will have Jayam Ravi in the lead. According to sources, talks are on with Katrina to sign her up for a dance sequence with Ravi. The song is to be shot in Paris and requires a well-known face at the box office and hence Prabhu is keen on Katrina, sources report. If Katrina agrees, this would mark her entry into Tamil film industry.

It is worth a mention here that Hansika Motwani has already been signed up as the heroine for the film that had tentatively been named as Ich.

MAMTA SIGNS FOR AADHI BHAGAVAN

Luck is in favour for Mamta Mohandas one more time. Latest news is that she is been signed for the latest movie Adhibhagavan directed by Ameer. Mamta will be playing an NRI in the film, which is indeed playing the turning point in the film.

And guess how she got cast in the film. Her still filming Malayalam film Anwar is the reason for it. She plays a very powerful role in the film and the posters of the movie did generate a good impact. Ameer who saw Mamta on the posters of Anwar was impressed and immediately sent a word to Mamta asking if she would be interested in doing a role his Adhibagavan.

Sun Pictures acquires Jayam's Thillalangadi

Jayam Raja has now completed filming his next project Thillalangadi, which features his younger brother Jayam Ravi and Tamanna in lead roles. This film is produced by his father Editor Mohan under the banner of Jayam Company and is reported to be acquired by Sun Pictures.

The film started rolling somewhere in August 2009 and had continuous shooting schedules at Chennai, Hyderabad and Malaysia. Recently, the final schedule was completed herein Chennai with Jayam Ravi, Shaam and Tamanna taking part.

As known earlier, Thillalangadi is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Kick(Ravi Teja, Ileana and Shaam in lead roles). Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music with Prabhu, Vadivelu, and Santhanam performing prominent roles in the film.

The post production works are close on the heels of completion and is slated to hit screens somewhere in August. Nonetheless, Sun Pictures are yet to make its official confirmations about releasing this film and it may happen after Sura and Singam scheduled for May-June release.

‘Angdadi Theru’ is a hit by hard hitting the conscience of all classes at one time. While all the people are feeling happy about the success of the film which spoke truth there is one actor who has some regrets for ‘Angadi Theru’.

The disillusioned soul is ‘Jayam’ Ravi and he has a very valid reason to sulk. It was ‘Jayam’ Ravi who was first approached by Vasanthabalan for ‘Angadi Theru’ and only when he and some other popular heroes rejected the offer Vasanthabalan looked elsewhere and brought in a new super talent Mahesh.

Now after seeing the rousing welcome ‘Angadi Theru’ and Mahesh are receiving from all quarters ‘Jayam’ Ravi regrets his skills of judgment. This kind of missing the right film is not new to actors. It was Vignesh who was chosen to play the lead in ‘Sethu’. When he failed Vikram came in and the rest is history. When Murugadoss started work for ‘Ghajini’ he first approached Madhavan for the role. When Madhavan rejected the film Suriya came in and became a super star.

So it is not just your power of judgment Ravi. It's only luck did not favour you this time.

Yes..yes..not only you...ravi received overhelming response from college students for his super slim body....it was mere dieting....and not heavy exercising...it took four months for toning body it seems.......now he has got a family entertainer plus two romantic films in his kitty...lets see what he delivers.....

Thillalangadi arriving in June!

Remake king M. Raja's upcoming film Thillalangadi is almost complete and the director is reportedly happy with the outcome. An energetic entertainer with many twists and suspenses, Thillalangadi is produced by Jayam Ravi's father Editor Mohan. The film is expected to grace theatres in June. Thillalangadi is a remake of the super hit Telugu movie Kick. Jayam Ravi and Tamannaah plays the lead roles and Shaam reprises his role from the original. Ravi has returned to his chocolate boy look after donning an action hero's look in Peranmai. This is Ravi's first film after marriage; Prabhu and Suhasini play pivotal roles; Vadivelu provides comic relief; music is scored by Yuvanshankar Raja.

Even singam release date hasn't been confirmed...but these people say that film will release by june....

Harris Jayaraj is wielding the music baton for three films – the AR Murugadoss-directed Ezham Arivu, KV Anand-directed Ko and the Prabhu Deva-directed Itch .The musician had traveled to a foreign destination with Prabhu a couple of months ago to discuss the song sequences and the work on this is going full-fledged. Jayam Ravi, the lead star in Aadhibagawan and is expected to come to the Prabhu camp soon after completing his commitments there.

We all know that the Harris-Murugadoss and the Harris-KV Anand combination has been a great success in the past. Now there is a great expectation on Harris teaming up with Prabhu.

Incidentally, Prabhu’s earlier Kollywood ventures have been action-oriented and this is the first time he is trying out a romance film here. With Itch being a romantic movie, the expectations on Harris’s music have grown several folds.

Jayam Ravi’s Ameer directed Aadhi Bhagavan shoot is happening in Bangkok, where government forces are fighting the red shirt protests.

Inspite of the protests on the streets, Ameer has managed to shoot some action scenes and part of a song. Mamta Mohandas is the heroine of the film. ameer :clap: :notworthy:

Meanwhile Jayam Ravi needs to go to Paris for his Prabhu Deva film Itch, and is trying to speed up work.

Prabhu Deva’s Itch featuring Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani is to start from June 1 in Paris. Prabhu and the unit are planning to leave from Chennai on May 28. If Ravi is not able to complete his Bangkok shoot on schedule, he will fly from there directly to Paris.

Wow.... Ravi is lavishly spending money on foreign locales... Dhaam dhoom in russia, m. Kumaran in malaysia and singapore etc..

I have seen the telugu version "Kick", just OK movie. Lets see how its remade in Tamil. My personal interest would be Yuvan's music. Nothing more than that :huh:

oh really i was trying to watch a telugu movie for the first time in my life by watching kick but i couldnt stand more than 5 minutes cause i got bored of that movie kick in 5-7 mins so i gave up!

have some patience lol the film is entertaining as it progresses or else why would it b a hit and many others wanting it to remake it, including vijay

Ameer, who is busy directing 'Jayam' Ravi for 'Aadhi Bhagavan' is currently shooting some important scenes in Bangkok. The film produced by former T Nagar MLA J Anbazhagan, has Mamta Mohandas as heroine.

Sources say the film is a racy entertainer which is mainly about a mother and son. "Sudha Chandran plays Ravi's mother and hers is a very meaty role," they maintain.

Director Ameer has recently diverted all his interests towards acting. With his ‘Yogi’ turning to be disastrous one at box office, the director has set high aims about making it big with the acting, thereby proving his adeptness.

Now as the filmmaker is shooting for ‘Aadhi Bhaghavan’, there seems to have been a problem with ‘Jeyam’ Ravi, when he informed about his onscreen role all of sudden.

Prabhu Deva says Ich is only a tentative title. He wants a lengthy and catchy title for this romantic entertainer.

Ameer is a director who takes a long time to write a script. His films take ages to be completed, as he goes on rewriting his script and making corrections.

Now Ameer is directing Jayam Ravi for his new film Aadhi Bhagavan, which already had a schedule in Bangkok. Mamta is playing the female lead in the film, but has not shot for the film so far!

She has given bulk dates for Aadhi Bhagavan, but is wasting her time as no shooting is taking place as the director is still making changes to the script.

Due to this, she is not able to sign any new offers that are coming her way.Poor Mamta, in the next few days she has to take a call whether she can give one year of her time and call sheet to the Ameer film or go her way.

She has half a dozen offers from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam,which she will have to give up if she sticks to Aadhi Bhagavan.

The next directorial venture of Prabhu deva is titled ICH with Jeyam Ravi and Hansika Motwani playing the lead. This is a temporary title and the final title is yet to be finalised.

Initially there were plans to shoot a song with Prabhu deva, Sneha, Bhumika and one more heroine. Now it has been decided to shoot the song with Prabhu deva only. Sure its going to be an astounding performance

Says Prabhudheva, “Hansika is beautiful and talented. Her commitment towards work is extraordinary. I enjoyed teaching her dance on salsa tunes! I’m sorry that she fell down twice during the twirls. But, she must keep trying.”

Hansika, of course, is thrilled with the opportunity she’d got in Paris. Says Hansika, “It was my dream to work with Prabhu dheva Sir. I’m learning dance from the master. It just doesn’t get any better than this!”

Actress Mamta might be a craze in Mollywood and Tollywood, winning accolades for her performance and setting the screen on fire with her oomph, but when it comes to Kollwyood, she's still a rarity.

But that's all going to change soon, she says. After all, Mamta's landed the female lead in Ameer's next directorial, Aadhi Bhagavan with Jayam Ravi

I've verbally confirmed that I will be doing Ameer's film. I will sign on the dotted line in a couple of days, says an excited Mamta.

She's been contemplating for the longest time about signing this movie. I was initially confused. Ameer wanted bulk dates, but I was already committed to other movies. But my friends and family insisted I do this movie because they felt Ameer would give me my much-deserved break in Tamil. This means I have to opt out of two other movies, but it is a gamble I'm willing to take, she says.

She further adds, Though I loved working in Sivappathigaram and Guru En Aalu, I was very disappointed with the result. People knew me as an actress, but I realised that was not how I wanted to focus on Kollywood.

Mamta's all praise for Ameer. Ameer's heroines always have a meaty role and at times, end up winning awards as well, she grins, I've seen his Mounam Pesiyathey and Paruthiveeran... and I realised how serious he is about filmmaking.

But Aadhi Bhagavan, she says, is not a serious film. It's a love story, she informs, Ameer chose not to reveal the script to both his lead characters. So, I only know that I play a modern NRI girl. I will join the team in September.

Apart from Aadhi Bhagavan, Mamta's hands are full with Mollywood projects. She's basking in the success of Kadha Thudarunnu directed by Sathyan Anthikadu. And then, there's Anwar with Prithiviraj and Prakash Raj. I'm also working on a short film with Indrajith for director Vinod. This is the first time I'm working on an art film, she reveals.

Mamta's also in the news recently for her alleged relationship with music director Devi Sri Prasad. It's true he gave me my first break in playback singing, but our relationship is not entirely professional. I love him as a close buddy. He's so full of energy, a mini dynamite. And so am I. So, when two dynamites get together, there's bound to be an explosion, :rotfl: she signs off.

In Thillalangadi, I’ve highlighted the problems that arise between lovers as a result of ego clashes. I’ve tried to explain where one must put a full stop to ego in a relationship. The whole idea has been conveyed in a light-hearted fashion. It’s a film with a happy ending but you’ll get a message from it.”

It has been Yuvan mania in the past few months as his musical albums have been marking great business in audio markets. Starting off with ‘Goa’ and ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’, the music director’s ‘Paiyya’ still remains on charts with all the songs ennobled as chartbusters.

His recent release ‘Kadhal Solla Vandhen’ is catching up with the interests of music lovers while his biggest magnum opuses are on the way to hit audio stores in July.

Actor Jayam Ravi and his wife Aarthi have been blessed with a baby boy. The actor’s wife gave birth to a boy at four in the evening on Tuesday

Ravi, who was in Paris shooting for Prabhu Deva’s film Ich, which also stars Hansika Motwani in the lead, cut short his trip and took a flight back to Chennai to be with his wife and new-born son.

Needless to say, the child has brought joy to all the family members of the actor’s family. Jayam Raja, Ravi’s brother, said, “Both mother and child are safe. Ravi has just arrived from Paris and he is now with his wife and son.”

Jayam Ravi is working on a series of interesting projects including Ich, Aadhi Bhagavan ( directed by Ameer and starring Mamta) and Thillalangadi (directed by Jayam Raja and starring Tamannaah).

Mobile makes Hansika upset

Hansika looks very worried these days. The actress who is currently shooting for a movie directed by Prabhu Deva just found out that her mobile phone crashed in Paris. She tried her best to get her high end mobile fixed as for almost close to two days she was completely disconnected with the world.Traumatised Hansika says, “I was really very worried when my cellphone crashed as I was completely off the grid and lost touch with all my friends. The little maestro had really gone insomniac over scoring music for ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ and now he has got his way to relax and take up the next work. Of course, he has flown down to Malaysia composing tunes for Ameer’s next movie ‘Aadhi bhagavan’ and lyric writer Sneghan too has accompanied him.

The musical prince is twitting about his wonderful experience in Singapore as the weather is pretty good and inspiring him to come up with best tunes. 2010 has been a promising year for Yuvan as his ‘Paiyya’ has topped the charts and his continuous projects ‘Thillalangadi’ and ‘Naan Mahan Alla’ are scheduled to hit screens shortly. Rain stops 'Ich' shoot

Prabhu Deva, 'Jayam' Ravi and Hansika, who are currently shooting for a film tentatively titled 'Ich', wrapped up their first schedule in Paris, the capital city of France.

The schedule was delayed due to some untimely rain and the whole cast and crew worked overtime to make up for the lost time. Scenes involving Hansika and 'Jayam' Ravi were shot in and around the beautiful city.

Prabhu Deva has been quite vocal about his admiration for Ravi and Hansika and the professionals that they are. He states, 'Ravi is a dedicated actor while Hansika is a lethal combination of beauty and talent!".

Despite a break due to the rain, the whole schedule was finished in record time, according to the unit sources and the entire crew put in 15 hours straight for almost three days.

It all started during the ancient period of Tamil cinema, where superstars, music directors, filmmakers and lyricists used to spend hours of time in 5 Star Hotels. Later, the places of composition switched over to nearby locales, especially hill stations. With producers burning down candles at both ends, the new trend of musicians flying down to foreign countries has come to practice.

When it’s about zeroing down on exact illustration, filmmaker Ameer and Yuvan Shankar Raja can be regarded. The duo along with lyric writer Sneghan have flown down to Singapore tuning melodies for their upcoming film ‘Aadhi Bhaghavan’. If so, didn’t the same duo churn out the chartbusters for ‘Paruthiveeran’ in Chennai itself ? On the contrary, the tunes for Ameer’s previous film ‘Yogi’ were tuned in Bangkok. Sorry to say! None of the songs were commendable at least to the levels of mediocre. At times, the films’ budgets peak to the extremum and this has been one of the precise reasons for pulling it. It’s well and good, if the producers do understand such ineffectual practices are curtailed for a finer reason

We had earlier published that the trio of Yuvan Shankar Raja, Director Ameer and lyricist Snehan are in Singapore to compose the music for Ameer's next movie "Aadhi Bhagavan". Now the latest tit-bit is that Ameer and Yuvan are back in Chennai after composing the tunes for the songs. It is being rumored that Yuvan has composed some fantastic tunes for Ameer.

No one can easily forget Yuvan's smashing hits for Ameer's earlier films like Mounam Pesiyathey, Raam and Paruthiveeran. So it is natural that there is a lot of hype and expectations when the two joined hands for Aadi Bhagavan.

When questioned, Yuvan said, "Ameer is a great director and he has always been able to get the best out of me. We have composed great tunes for this movie and I¡¯m sure people will like it and the songs will become huge hits".

Choreographer turned filmmaker Prabhu Deva basked himself into abundant success with ‘Pokkiri’ followed by ‘ Villu ’. Nearly after a year, the actor has completed shooting his quickie ‘ICH’ within shorter period.

A well planned project – ICH can be marked with such best verdicts as Prabhu Deva was punctual enough to get it done. Touted to be a breezy romantic entertainer, the film features Jeyam Ravi and Hansika Motwani in lead roles.

Recently, the film’s shooting is reported to have been completed and the post production works have started already. Produced by Kalpathy Agoram of AGS Entertainment, the film is likely to hit screens for Diwali.

With Harris Jayaraj scoring music and Nirav Shah handling cinematography, one can really expect big technical fiestas from them.

Boologam 1st Schedule Over !!

JAYAM Ravi, who stars in the upcoming action film Boologam, recently tweeted that the first schedule of the shoot has been completed, reports The Times of India.

The film about a boxer, also stars Trisha and Hollywood actor/wrestler of Troy fame, Nathan Jones, is produced by Aascar V. Ravichandran and directed by N. Kalyanakrishnan.

Update : In the upcoming film Nimirndhu Nil, Jayam Ravi will play dual roles — one as a 48-year-old, and the other as a 24-year old, reports desimartini.com. Sarathkumar plays a Central Bureau of Investigation officer. The film is simultaneously being made in Telugu with Nani in the lead. Amala Paul and Soori also star in the film, which is fast wrapping up.
