Hello,
We are hosting an indian dinner party for 30-40 people.I plan to make it myself with some help around at home.As i am unable to decide on the menu suggestions will be appreciated for a non veg hotel style menu.
Appetiser - corn soup/clear/tomato soup (suggest plz)
Starters & chaat - Chicken 65, chicken lolipop, mirchi bajji, samosa, pani puri (cant decide please suggest)
Rice - Chicken biryani with salan & raita, white rice with rasam
Bread - roti with some non veg curry ( plz suggest)
Noodles - veg noodles with a side dish (plz suggest)
desert - suggest easy to make indian desert plz

Appetiser -tomato soup

Noodles - veg noodles with peas,carrot kuruma

Appetiser -tomato soup(easier to make...hehehe)
Starters & chaat -Chicken 65, samosa, peanut chaat/corn chaat.
Bread - roti with chettinad chicken curry
Noodles - veg noodles with paneer-peas or mushroom-peas curry.These will go well with rotis too. So vegetarians wouldn't feel left out. If u want a chinese dish to go with noodles, then it's obviously the manchurians...
desert -rasmalai(using readmade rasgulla)-easy to make for a crowd.
If u r good at baking, cakes too would be a good option.
Or maybe some semiya kheer/carrot kheer/rice kheer.
Warm Gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream. U can make it 1 or 2 days ahead.
If u have a food processor, u can make carrot halwa. Else it's a task to grate the carrots.

Appitisers : tomato soup / sweet corn soup
starters : corn / bean crunchy salad, cutlets (previously prepare and fry on party day), grilled french fries, bake puffs, dhokla
Bread - roti/chapathi/parotta/ idiyappam any two
side dishes
non veg

keema mutar is very easy to prepare
chicken curry
veg
----
pepper aloo mushroom gravy
soya chunks, potato, peas gravy
mutar paneer
macroni / noodles with manchurians
dessert
-------
carrot halwa, kheer, gulab jamun with icecream , rasamalai
(all can be prepared previously)
baking means plain cake
or some trifle pudding
or easiest is payasam

Hi..
Here was the menu
Appetiser - Tomato soup
Starters & chaat - Samosa, mushroom 65
Main course:
Rice - Chicken Biryani, white rice
Bread - Roti
Noodles - veg soft noodles
Curry - gobi manchuria, chicken curry
Yoghurt - Raita, plain curds
Rasam - Tomato rasam with papad
Desert - kalakhand
I used samosa sheets to make samosas & froze them to fry later.Also used ready made creamy tomato soup found in trader joes.Rest are home made.
