kola kolayA's 'rAjA vA' was Kavingar's welcome.

I think the movie 'iLayarAjAvin rasigai' was started in late 70's itself and it was possibly the biggest one to adore his name (in the title of the movie itself). Though the disk got released and had a few songs frequently played in IOKS, the movie itself never saw the light. ('rasiganE en arugil vA' is one song from that movie I think. 'endha Aththu paiyan avan, yAru peththa sella makan' is an intersting and instantly lovable song from this movie).

in 80, we had the 'puthu rAgam padaippadhAlE' showing IR on screen ('madai thiRandhu' of nizhalgaL)
