In this season when remake bug is biting everyone, Superstar’s films have become the most wanted one. This is proved by the excellent Box-Office collection of these Rajini remakes. For instance, Ajith’s remake ‘Billa’ was a big hit like its original version. In fact ‘Billa’ became a milestone for Ajith’s career.

The latest Rajini remake is ‘Murattu Kaalai’, a blockbuster of 1980s. Sundar C and Sneha are playing the lead roles for this one. Superstar’s real life mappillai (Son-in-law), Dhanush is now doing the remake of his father-in-law’s runaway success ‘Mappillai’.

Another movie of Rajini, which is as well the finest movies of director Mahendran, ‘Johnny’ is going to be remade by Selva with Jeevan in the lead.

On top of these projects, the all time favorites ‘Velaikkaran’ and ‘Mr. Bharath’ is also expected to join the line soon. Sources say that the producers of these classics are being approached by many young directors.

Whether he is acting or not, just with his name people make money...

Superstar Rajinikanth had a suggestion to share with his colleagues at the national conference of the All India Film Employees’ Federation in Chennai on Friday.

In his address, he urged film workers to utilise properly the schemes announced by the government. “The film employees did not take the offer of land made by the previous regime of the AIADMK,” he said.

“Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had announced a similar scheme, but the industry failed to make use of it. Our friends should act upon the offer this time,” the top actor said, referring to an announcement made by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi that the government would provide free houses to film workers.

Referring to Rajini’s observation, M Karunanidhi said he did not want to go into the issue but now, it was for the FEFSI president V C Guhanathan and the employees to select the site. “Once FEFSI members identify the site, the project will begin,” he said.

The actor said that though some scripts are good or excellent they simply do not translate into a movie due to poor market demands. Kamal said that he regrets such situations as he could not make films that are close to his heart.

He was quoted as saying, “I would rate that as one of the biggest regrets of my life. Over the years, I have liked many scripts but they just couldn’t materialize into films. I feel sad that many times I couldn’t do films due to market demands; there were scripts begging to be made. I think not doing those good scripts amounts to infanticide.”

Bollywood actor Rahul Dev seems to have established himself as the most sought after bad guy in south. With the dearth of villains, his arrival has given movie makers a new lease of life.

The actor has given some great performances in movies like 'Athadu', 'Krishna' and others.

Now sources claim that he will be against none other than the superstar Rajinikanth. However that would be in the animated film 'Sultan – The Warrior'.

This movie is being made by Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and there are already very high expectations.

Meanwhile sources also claim that he would be the villain in yet another Suriya starrer.

Honestly A2A, I did not think that far. Even I thought , Logicla idhu engEyo idikkiRa maadhiri theriyuthu. I think we should not read much into this. For sure Kamal was no.1 for the first few years of 1980's. Let us leave at that. Because I was very happy with the way Rajini praised Kamal.

I actually give Rajini more credit than just this. In my estimate he was probably referring to a normalized measure - like say popularity normalized with respect to population. In that respect, it might be safe to say that if there was some accurate measure of popularity, Kamal is probably the only one who would have even registered a reading in multiple parts of India.
But that speech was quite lump-in-throat-inducing. Living room-la pin drop silence followed by fervent eye kaantaakt avoidings...

What do you mean by established actor ? Kamal was just coming up , doing some 2nd hero type characters , working along with Sivakumar and others. He was just few steps ahead of new actors.
Balachander gave him some good roles like AR, Avargal , NN which elevated his stature. Otherwise, Kamal was an ordinary actor then :oops:

I dont understand the arguement here.. It has come straight from the devil's mouth that

Nobody could have stopped nobody if they have real talent. As you guys say, the hard work and dedication of Rajini has made him to go to top, as is Kamal who was working as a Barber as portrayed in the Kamal 50 program.

But the point is, getting a chance in movies is a big task in those times, with the likes of Jaishankar, Sivakumar, Muthuraman etc. I thought Rajini should have told "Kamal is the reason for me to get such movies" instead of what he said, which I think would have been appropriate.

இதுபற்றி ரஜினியின் ஸ்ரீ ராகவேந்திரா திருமண மண்டப நிர்வாகிகள் சிலரிடம் பேசினோம். பெரும் தயக்கத்துக்குப் பின் நம்மிடம் பேசிய அவர்களில் சிலர், `` `எந்திரன்' படத்தைத் தொடங்கியதும் இதே மண்டபத்தில் ரசிகர்களைச் சந்தித்த ரஜினி, `வெறும் செல்வாக்கு, உழைப்பு, திறமையை வைத்துக்கொண்டு, யாரும் அரசியலில் ஜெயித்து விட முடியாது. அரசியலில் ஜெயிக்க சந்தர்ப்பம், சூழ்நிலை ரொம்ப முக்கியம் சினிமாவைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு அரசியலுக்கு வந்தது போல், அரசியலையும் கற்றுக் கொண்டுதான் அரசியலுக்கு வருவேன்' என்றார்.

இப்போது விடுத்த ஓர் அறிக்கையில் கூட, `நான் அரசியலுக்கு வரவேண்டும் என்று முடிவெடுத்து விட்டால் யாராலும் தடுக்க முடியாது; அரசியலுக்.கு வரவேண்டாம் என்று முடிவெடுத்து விட்டால் யார் வற்புறுத்தினாலும் வரமாட்டேன்' என்று திட்டவட்டமாக அறிவித்தார். எனவே, எந்திரனுக்குப் பின் நிச்சயம் ரஜினி அரசியலுக்கு வருவார் என்று ரசிகர்கள் நம்பிக்கையுடன் இருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் யாரும் எதிர்பாராத விதமாக, இமயமலையில் பாபா குகையை நோக்கிய சாரின் பயண வீடியோ, விஜய் டி.வி.யில் அண்மையில் ஒளிபரப்பானது. சினிமாவை ஒதுக்கிவிட்டு ஆன்மிகப் பாதையைத் தேர்வு செய்யும்போது, அதை ஏற்கும் மனப்பக்குவத்தை ரசிகர்களிடம் தயார்படுத்தும் நோக்கில்தான் அந்த வீடியோவை ரஜினி சார் டி.வி.யில் ஒளிபரப்பக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். இதை ரசிகர்களும் புரிந்து கொண்டு, எங்களுக்கு போன் செய்து, `தலைவரிடம் பேசியே ஆக வேண்டும். அவர் தன் முடிவை மாற்றிக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்' என்று அழாத குறையாகக் குமுறுகிறார்கள். சாரும் இதை எல்லாம் கவனித்துக் கொண்டுதான் இருக்கிறார்'' என்றனர்.

அப்படியென்றால், எந்திரனுக்குப் பின் ரஜினியின் தேர்வு ஆன்மிகமா என்ற சந்தேகத்தை அடிக்கடி ரஜினியுடன் பாபா குகைக்குப் போய் வருபவர்களில் ஒருவரான அவரது நண்பரிடம் கேட்டோம். சொல்லத் தொடங்கினார் அவர்.

``இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளாக பாபா என்றொரு யோகி வாழ்ந்து வருகிறார் என்று, `பாபா' படத்தில், ரஜினி சொன்னபோது காதில் பூ சுற்றுகிறார் என்றவர்களே, இப்போது பாபா பற்றிய தகவல்களை தேடிப்பிடித்துப் படித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டுப் போகிறார்கள். பாபா தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவர்தான். இப்போது அவரது பெயரில் ரிஷிகேஷில் ஆசிரமம் கட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார் ரஜினி!

இந்தத் தகவல் உங்களைப் பொருத்தவரையில் ஒரு பரபரப்புச் செய்தி, அவ்வளவுதான். ஆனால், ரஜினிக்கு அந்த ஆசிரமம் ஒரு கனவு. அந்த ஆசிரமத்தை யோகக் கலைகள் கற்றுத் தரும் ஓர் ஆன்மிகத் தலமாக ரஜினி உருவாக்கி வருகிறார். அதற்கான வேலைகள் மிகவும் ரகசியமாக நடந்து வருகின்றன. ஒருவேளை ரஜினியின் நிரந்தர வசிப்பிடமாக இந்த ஆசிரமம் மாறினாலும் ஆச்சரியப்படுவதற்கில்லை'' என்று முடித்துக் கொண்டார் அவர்.

சில ஆண்டுகளாக `ஒன்லி சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் டாட் காம்' என்கிற ரஜினி பற்றிய பிரத்யேக இணையதளத்தை நடத்தி, அதன்மூலம் ரஜினி ரசிகர்களை இணைத்து வரும் சிம்பிள் சுந்தரிடம் பேசினோம்.

``தற்போது தலைவரின் கவனம் முழுவதும் எந்திரனில் மட்டுமே உள்ளது. சிவாஜியின் சாதனைகளை முறியடித்து, தமிழ் சினிமாவின் வீச்சை உலக அரங்கில் கொண்டு செல்ல அவர் உழைத்து வருகிறார். கடந்தாண்டு ரசிகர் சந்திப்பில் கூட, `உங்கள் கடமையை சரியாகச் செய்யுங்கள். நாம் மறுபடியும் உட்கார்ந்து பேசி முடிவெடுப்போம்' என்று அழுத்தம் திருத்தமாகக் கூறினார். வரும் நவம்பர் 3-ம்தேதியோடு அவர் ரசிகர்களைச் சந்தித்து, ஓராண்டு முடிவடைகிறது. அடுத்த சந்திப்புக்கு ஆவலாக இருக்கிறோம். அவர் என்ன முடிவெடுத்தாலும், உண்மையான ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் அவருடன் இருப்போம். தமிழக மக்களின் விருப்பம், நலனை கருத்தில் கொண்டுதான் அவரது முடிவு அமையும். சுயநலத்துக்காக தலைவர் எந்த முடிவும் எடுத்ததில்லை. எடுக்கவும் மாட்டார்'' என்று முடித்துக் கொண்டார், சுந்தர்.

`தி நேம் இஸ் ரஜினிகாந்த்' (The name is Rajiniganth) என்ற ரஜினியின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்று நூலை எழுதிய மருத்துவர் காயத்ரியிடம் இந்த சந்தேகங்களைக் கேட்டோம்.

```நீங்கள் அரசியலுக்கு வருவீர்களா?' என்று ஒருமுறை நானே அவரிடம் கேட்டேன். அப்போது தன் கையை உயர்த்தி வானத்தை நோக்கிக் காட்டி, `அவருக்குத்தான் தெரியும்' என்றார். அரசியலுக்கு வந்தால் சூது வாது தெரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும். எப்போதும் வெளிப்படையாக இருக்கும் ரஜினியிடம் அந்தக் குணங்கள் இல்லை. அவரை ஒரு நடிகராகப் பார்க்கவே நான் விரும்புகிறேன். ஆன்மிகமும் அவருக்கு ஏற்றதுதான்'' என்றார் காயத்ரி.

ஒவ்வொரு படம் முடிந்ததும் பாபா குகைக்குச் சென்று தியானம் செய்துவிட்டுத் திரும்புவது ரஜினியின் வழக்கம். `எந்திரன்' ஷூட்டிங் முடிந்ததும் மார்ச் மாதம் பாபா குகைக்கு ரஜினி போகப்போகிறார். இதுவரை அவர் போனதற்கும் இந்த முறை போவதற்கும் நிறைய வித்தியாசம் உண்டு என்கின்றனர் அவரது நெருங்கிய நண்பர்கள்.

பாபா குகைக்கு ரஜினி செல்லும்பட்சத்தில் ``என் வாழ்க்கைப் பயணம் இனி எதை நோக்கியதாக இருக்க வேண்டும்'' என்று அங்கு பாபாவிடம் ரஜினி கேட்க வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது. அப்போது அவருக்குக் கிடைக்கும் பதில்தான் உலகம் முழுவதும் உள்ள ரஜினி ரசிகர்களின் மில்லியன் டாலர் கேள்விகளுக்கும் பதிலாக அமையும். ஆனால், அந்த பதில் என்னவாக இருக்கும் என்ற கேள்விக்கு அந்த நிமிடம் வரை யாருக்கும் விடை தெரியப்போவதில்லை.

The recent floods in Andhra Pradesh have left the state devastated with a huge loss of life and property. The government’s allocation of Rs. 1000 crores as relief fund is still insufficient to meet the expenses, considering the heavy losses. The film fraternity is now gearing up to help the state recover from the devastation by conducting a star night show to collect funds and help the victims through it.

It has been confirmed that Tamil film stars including Rajinikanth, Vijaykanth, and Sarath Kumar will participate in the event. Bollywood stars Jitendra and Rajesh Khanna will also grace the occasion. Further, there are expectations that Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal could also grace the occasion.
