அவர் வேறு யாரும் அல்ல... அஞ்சாசிங்கம் அண்ணன் கவுண்டமணி அவர்கள் தான்

இதை பலரும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன்!!!! :)

I feel, he deserves a thread in this hub.... mainly because of his current form... I would say, he is the most wanted comedian by producers & directors.

His work ranges from small budget to high budget Endhiran.

The film which gave me this thought is Vaamanan.... & from then onwards, he had 2 more releases till date (Modhi Vilayadu & Malai Malai) & most of the reviews gave good opinion about his comedy.

Also, I am particularly looking about his comedy in the recent reviews & comparing with the review given for other comedian's work., in the films released alongside with his films.

Santhanam is literally going places. He will soon be seen in a Hindi film titled Chinnoo Mannoo, which is simultaneously made in Tamil too.

“The producer of the movie, who earlier made Khakhee, is introducing his son in Bollywood and Tamil industry through the film. I play his friend in both the versions,” says the comedian.

In a lighter vein, he adds, “Hindi dialogues are not so difficult for me. It takes just five takes for me to okay a shot. In Tamil, I used to okay a shot in two takes.” :lol:

Santhanam is currently acting in a long list of films including Endhiran, Kanden Kadhalai, Ayyanar, Kandha Kottai, Singam Puli, Tamil remake of Kick and Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai.

In that disastrous movie where a pigeon was the prime mover and Jayam Ravi was notionally the hero, Santhanam and Ravi are pushed out of the police station by constables when they are ostensibly protesting - santhanam to a constable:
"yov, thoppaiyAla thaLLadha, kaiyAla thaLLu"

it's a old joke but the new bottle is quite attractive.

Gounder has been the most loved comedian in tamilnadu when we consider last last 20 years.

His style of comedy is very well in the minds of tamil people.So if some one does it ..or tries it ...people likes it a bit.

I liked him in Polladhavan too, though Karunas had overshadowed him in most scenes. Similarly Premji Amaran was way funnier than him in Santosh Subramaniam...

I like him...hez cool. Actually a hero material (look-wise :? )

sometimes though I do feel, he lacks emotions in dialogue delivery. Voice modulation is not well taken care of. He is stone faced and not too much into emoting too.

Yeah I think hez the only one promising enough and would easily pull the show for another decade and I do like him.

Coming to Santhanam, I don't think he is great by any measure. I usually find him quite inconsistent - some lovely moments followed up by bland moments. AFAI have seen this one is his funniest. And in GM sort of way, where it is so not about the lines

Humorous segment

Be it ‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi, Azhagam Perumal or Ravichandran, all the actors do justice. Kannan digresses slightly from Imtiaz Ali’s original line and adds a humorous segment with Santhanam, which melds well with the main story. Hilarious most of the time, Santhanam is a value-addition to ‘KK.’ His comic interludes with Manobala evoke a smile. The vacuum created by Vadivelu in ‘Guru Sishyan’ after he walked out of the project has been filled by Santhanam. “Scenes involving the actor will tickle the funny bone of the audience,” says sources in the unit.

The film was initially publicised that Vadivelu’s performance would be one of the highlights. The comedian however opted out of the film alleging that no scenes were shot on him even after months after the commencement of the shoot.

Following this, Santhanam has been roped in by Shakthi Chidambaram, the director and producer of the movie. “Few changes were made to the comedy part to suit to Santhanam. The actor would as usual rock in this movie,” sources add.

With Sundar C and Sathyaraj in lead roles, the film, though inspired by the title of a Rajinikanth hit, is no remake. The film however has a remix song. ‘Vangaonna…’ from the movie ‘Bhadrakali’, has been given a ‘fresh look’ by Dheena for ‘Guru Sishyan’.

The ongoing clash between two reigning comedy-kings of Kollywood — Vikek and Vadivelu — may have proved detrimental to their respective market shares but making the most of the situation is aspiring comedian Santhanam.

Santhanam started his career as a stand-up comedian on the small screen and switched to bigger things with Mammadhan, thanks to his friend and mentor Silambarasan. Santhanam stole the show in Silambattam too with his double entendre. His comedy track in Kandain Kaadhalai is a hit. Incidentally, the Hindi original Jab We Met did not have the kind of character Santhanam played in the Tamil remake.

Director Shankar, impressed by Santhanam’s onscreen antics, has cast him in the main lead in Arai Yenn 305il Kadavul.

Both Vivek and Vadivelu managed to grab each other’s opportunities, owing to their differences with their directors. Perhaps, now it is Santhanam’s turn to replace both Vivek and Vadivelu on a couple of occasions. He has already replaced Vivek in two films and stepped into one that had Vadivelu initially. The latest, we hear, is that some directors have even gone to the extent of reworking scripts to accommodate Santhanam in place of either Vivek or Vadivelu. Even I got irritated with santhanam for imitating annan , but now I am begining to like it, as he remainds me of our legendary annan !
