If at all we have to understand which movie running better in Chennai we can check on the theaters. In Sathyam, in 3rd week end itself Velayuthum moved to very smaller and lesser screens. Comparatively 7th sense is much better. Not only sathyam, in all the other chennai theaters too. Samples eduththu paarthaa theriyum.

not sure. If theaters under Kanchipuram district is coming under Chengalpat film distribution area, then these theaters are part of it. I guess around 50 theaters would be part of Chengalpat distribution. :confused2: If chrompet Vetri/Rakesh, Tambaram vidya and Varadharaja are part of it 9c is a possible amount. In tambaram area 7th sense is released and still running in 3 very good theaters compared to Vela which is released and running in only one very good theater and one dabba theater.

I think this cinema kaakkaa site takes collection info from their respective website itself, 10 minits b4 each show, they will login to PVR site and look at the booking status picture, as if pretending to book a ticket. In that way they will get an idea of collection percentage.

Do they cover any multiplex without online booking?!

There is a drastic increase in the number of Ezhaam Arivu shows in Mayajaal !! - From this Friday onwards Ezhaam Arivu 18 shows and Velayudham 9. Looking forward to the climate changing and UNS producing a Vijay movie - and the same arguments happening here except with roles reversed among the respective fans(but then Surya doesn't have fans...oh!). That day is not far off. Moththathula the ones who benefit are the actors, non-actor-but-stars, uns-type producers, cine people, and some hubbers who probably can use these internet forums to spearhead one particular star's side and project themselves as an internet leader of that star's fans and hoping to get a chance to get close to that star and benefit from that in future. Like politics there is no permanent enemy or friend in cinema too. So not to take these small issues in a serious way. We know how Vijay and Ajith fans were a decade ago. During Bagavathi/Villain or Anjaneya/Thirumalai release there were serious fights between these star's fans (stabbing each other). Today we know how close these stars are. Now who is the loser? The fan who went to jail and created a bad image for himself and his family.

Movies or our favorite stars are entertaining us and are basically stress busters. There is no point in seeing our star's temporary enemy as our enemy. During Kuruvi days we (Vijay fans) were happy for Udhay and today most of them are against him. Bottom line is they are making money and only fans fight between themselves.

Its just my view. Please dont take it as advise because I for one dont advise anybody and dont like anybody advising me.

Thara is getting fine reviews for her performance and infact, most telugus believe there is no one other than NBK to play that role, partly thanks to his lineage. He seems to have done well per reviews as well. The director is a much respected veteran whose sensibility is well suited for this movie. I don't know whether it will run in Chennai but it certainly seems to be getting good reviews in Telugu land. Well, will def.ly be a better choice than our Diwali releases I believe. And def.ly I am looking forward to it better than the last two movies I saw

actually this news was from a chat show in malayalam channel manorma..he posted it as a shocking news..

in kerala due to strike by theater owners no malayalam films are released for past few weeks and only other langauage movies were released..many big films including mohanlals and mammotys were due for release in nov 1st week..but due to strike got delayed..

velayutham and 7a released in 100 theters and raone in around 80(dnt knw correctly)..so there were no theater for malayalam movies..

theater owners were permitting wide release for other language movies but malayalam movies are normally relased in 60 - 70 theaters..then government decided to allow wide release for malayalam movies also..but the theater owner association opposed and whole strike was bcoz of this..

now to the chat show..they were discussing abt this..why other language movies are given more importance and why avoiding malayalm movies..

one of the speakers in the show said all the 3 diwali released were not profitable..another person supported him sayin that he works in distribution filed and he knows abt this..

then another guy said velayutham made a profit of around 2 crore and said this was informed bby velayudham distributor shibu of thameens..another guy also supported him sayin that they have the collection report and they were ready to show its as proof..


but both vela and 7a are still doing reasonable good business and both have become profitable for distributors...

abt this 5 cr in 5 days..this was posted by a member in a malayalam forum and said he got this info from distributors..this created quite fight in that forum itself..sayin such collection is never possible..

nw this twitter guy posted this on twitter and it spread everywhere and even some websites quoted it as collections and the fight started everywhere..

in that malayalm forum this collection was put in the thread title and the MODs removed it sayin not enough proof..

According to what i understood, 7A is a superhit and it is running well than Vela. That doesnt mean it surpassed Dasavatharam and i am not sure of Mankatha but again according to my understanding Mankatha is topping in terms of opening. But what uday says is 7Am broke Vela, Dasa, Mankatha, and Even Enthiran collection is less than Dasa.

And to highlight, i didn't come to the conclusion that 7Am is higher than vela, just with what uday said, but also with other websites, links posted here and the facts discussed here, like the higher no of theatres even in overseas, which uday cannot fake like what he possibly can do inside TN. Thatswhy i remeinded my statement - "Appadiye uday solrathu fake nnaalum opposite side lernthu entha facts um varrathillai, what on the world is stopping them"

MakkaLe, I want to clarify few things regarding rising-finance.

I had a saaft corner on him as

1. i saw he was attacked by opposite camp in his twitter, and he intially replied with some maturity. here in hub, i asked if he started any provocation, ajay said there were some clash during election time but apart from that i didnt see anywhere he starting the attack. slowly he also started some indirect attack - "nallaveLai 1st half mattum pathen" but nothing directly

2. he released one specific area collection for both movies and i kept asking here in hub, even some claimed they had industry contacts, so why the opp-camp is silent? Neednot talk about 7AM but what is stopping them to refute their own movie.

becos of this i had some respect on him. also i has 'some' 'some' belief on 7Am collections leading. Actually there are hubbers who support that view without including uday's tweets in picture. i am mostly with them. infact i posted like this "uday oda tweets fake ave irunthaalum" multiple times, expressing my mild doubts.

all that said, no way it can be said that i worshiped him like theivam etc. infact i even pointed that his dis-interest in MMA. also i pointed that he didn't post any profit info regarding MMA in twitter, i guess he joined twitter by that time only.

when story was going like this, he did moronic act of vaarifying ALL movies directly or indirectly(dasavatharam, mankatha, enthiran) and i posted them here. my stand on his this issue, most of the hubbers agree...

but when i posted that "kochadayan BO" thing i guess ppl saw me taking a total reverse side, there. even i was in conpees. but now if i think on this, yes i showed my anger on him for first time, and i was irked due to his ignoring of dasa records. but if you think, even if his 7Am records related tweets are true, there is no chance that 80 years thing can be true. there is nothing great in the movie becoming 3rd most topper. even in that case, there is already 2 movies sitting strongly and so there is nothing sort of 80 year 1st time blah blah.

but that said, i still expressed some belief on the so far released BO info on 7AM. that stand of mine remains same, irrespective of this dabbaa thalayan's tweets.

anyways, i nailed down where i twisted my stand and agree there is partly mistake at my side too... (romba yosichi ellaam pannalai, oru flow la vanthuduchi) this is an experience for me, carry on folks :D
