If u guys says Karan is irritating.. by the same yardstick.. I have to say Prakashraj the villain is terribly irritating

PrakashRaj and Raghuvaran ,apart from their few performances as a character artists ,most of their Villian acting were irritating ,IMO.

Raghuvaran was not that irritating as a Villain. Any specific films :?

Most of his villain acting including famous Mark Anthony didn't impress me ,where as he was too good in character roles ,example Mugavari.

I agree with this. Raguvaran was not used properly, or probably that is all he can do . The slow drawling voice was his weapon and basically it was overused.

I am not sure when I liked him. Maybe when he was talking normally and reacting normally like when in the early days of villainism (Poo Vizhi Vasalile).

As for Prakashraj, as villain he was doing the same thing again and again, with his muttaikannu and index finger. As character artiste, he excels!

Trouble with villain performance is, post 80s, Sathyaraj set the standard too high, even after he ventured in heroism.


And please, please remove Karan from the list. Come on, guys!

He doesn't speak, he drones. Perhaps. I don't remember having any grouse about his voice. His voice is quite expressive even in the movie which has quite a bad performance from him : Five Star. Even in that he only came across as a greenhorn but not bad at all.

I particularly liked him in Kanda naaL mudhal - which I maintain is Duet Movies' best film till date. Fun, nakkal, vulnerability, anger, louu - completely tested in this film and he passed with flying colours.

In quite a wierd characterization with some dumb quirks in AnjAdhE - he was quite okay. In a middle-of-the-road movie like saadhu miraNdaal which demanded some cliched yet above average acting - he dished out what was asked of him.

I really wish he gets to do better films.

Prasanna - outright rejected...He was good in Kanda Naal Mudhal. and acted well in Azhagiya Theeye.
The director Mysskin should be blamed for casting him as the villian in Anjadhe, with such bad makeup. The character and its mannerisms were pathetic too. I dont think he acted badly in the movie. Avara list lerndhu thookkunga pa. Pavam, avarellam 10 roobava vida kammiya thaan vanguvaaru.

He doesn't speak, he drones. Perhaps. I don't remember having any grouse about his voice. His voice is quite expressive even in the movie which has quite a bad performance from him : Five Star. Even in that he only came across as a greenhorn but not bad at all.

I particularly liked him in Kanda naaL mudhal - which I maintain is Duet Movies' best film till date. Fun, nakkal, vulnerability, anger, louu - completely tested in this film and he passed with flying colours.

In quite a wierd characterization with some dumb quirks in AnjAdhE - he was quite okay. In a middle-of-the-road movie like saadhu miraNdaal which demanded some cliched yet above average acting - he dished out what was asked of him.

I really wish he gets to do better films.

No doubt he is not really a great actor, but he is not horrible to the level that he is competing with Prashant.

as a whole totally frustrated with the shoddy publicity (or the lack of one). these people sure know how to screw up on the last lap after leading in the whole race.

would love to watch this evening but held up with work, going tomo eveining. will update abt audience response. but honestly, i think the release had the potential to make it a blockbuster (due to multiplex owner strike etc), and now i think the movie can at the most expect average collections.

just back from the movie
7 PM show, Sion Cinemax. Mumbai

Positives:

1) movie is too good. except for a couple of places u dont realise it is a dubbed version (yes, it is. maybe only aandavar used his own voice but for others voices definitely dubbing was used, but they were very natural)

2) aandavar!!!!!! kaalil thaan vizhaNum. the way he speaks like a 90+ old granny with the hindi in the UP accent was wonderful. sadly it was so wonderful that nobody even realised the hard work and the pain. just like sehwag makes hitting 300s look ridiculously simple in contrast to dravid who makes scoring 100s look very painstaking. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

negatives:

1) missed the first 20 mins, hence missed the nambi portions altogether.

2) the movie was shown in a small screen with around 50 seats capacity. half the seats were empty. this was for the evening show in a pretty well known multiplex that too quite close to matunga. i think in other places the situation can be no better.

3) most of the 20-25 people were south indians, may be KH admirers. may be only 3-5 people were proper north indians.

4) no publicity anywhere. whaterver little on the net which is available have reviewed the movie in the most ridiculous manner.

5) at the introduction scene of Shingen, the title reads "Tokyo, Japan" in tamil. there are no hindi subtitles for shingen's japanese dialogues.

Verdict:

Unless the publicity is hiked up immediately, the movie may not see the second weekend in most theaters.

Yes, the common multiplex audience will definitely love it, if proper publicity is made. The movie has everything in it in the right proportions. It is even better than the tamil version. I loved it.
