so, only IR and MSV can criticise computer music? rahman cant find fault with orchestrational model - ennapa idhu? infact i feel happy that a genius like rahman finally talks abt the importance of sound design and sound engineering - becos no other freaking critic or composer has any idea how to review the new age MDs. we must appreciate that rahman has chosen a very decent platform and put this across very decently.

Three of the songs were presented to the audience there and I loved Hosanna the most. You might have to wait a while before you hear the songs though. The song to look out for in the album is this one sung by Mr Alphonse, a music director in Kerala, for whom I have also sung. He has sung this song called Aaromale magnificently. There is this song, Mannippaya with Shreya Ghoshal and Rahman sir. Deadly lyrics by Thamarai. I have always loved her writing, but I loved this song the most for the lyrics. There is Kannukkul Kannai from Naresh in his usual best. Devan and I have sung Anbil Avan. Omana Penne has Benny singing it and this song hooks on to you. Karthik has sung the title track of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya and this song and Mannippaaya are Devan's favorites in the album. That Devan plays the guitar was a revelation to me. And he plays it so well. He told me that he always only wanted to be a composer. Singing came by chance. He has done some great work in his upcoming Bale Pandiya. Had the opportunity to listen to a song of his. Blaaze anna has this amazing rap portion in Hosanna. I have always loved his performances and have admired his work. I really wish to work with him soon.
Its tough to say which song I like most. But Hosanna just doesn't get off my mind. Just a few more days and I guess you should be able to hear this one

The audio launch of the film was successfully held in London last week which was attended by the lead pair Trisha, Silambarasan along with director Gautham Menon, A R Rahman, singers Karthik, Chinmayee, Naresh Iyer, and Benny Dayal along with a few London musicians.

Gautham Menon has returned to Chennai and for a poser on why the music was released in London, he said, “A R Rahman is a universal figure and to demonstrate to the world that he belongs to Tamil Nadu, we held the audio launch function in London.” However the music of VTV will definitely be introduced in Chennai also, added the director.

Any idea as to why Goutham Vasudev Menon zeroed in on London to launch the music of his forthcoming venture ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’? Well, the filmmaker, who is happy that the function became a ‘grand success’, speaks on it:

“Though we make our films on a par with international standards, we market them only within Tamil Nadu. Foreigners should know about our movies. So I selected London as the venue for VTV’s audio launch,” he says.

Goutham also has one more reason to hold the function in the United Kingdom. He says: “The whole world is celebrating A R Rahman. I wanted to remind the world with all proud that the music maestro is from our soil.”

Claiming that ace musicians from London attended the event, Goutham says he is planning to hold one more audio launch for VTV. “Yes, this time, the function will be held in our own Chennai. This is purely for Tamil audience,” he says.

A host of singers including Naresh Iyer, Benny Dayal, Karthik and Chinmayee attended the audio launch in London Saturday. They were accompanied by Goutham Menon and the lead pair of the movie, Silambarasan and Trisha

When VTV comes to Chennai

As promised by Gautham Menon, the director of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, the audio of the film will once again be launched in Chennai on January 2nd 2010. Soon after the music release in London, Gautham said that the idea to launch the audio in London was due to the fact that music director AR Rahman is a universal figure and to show to the world that he is from Tamil Nadu.

However, the director decided to launch the audio once again in Chennai and has arranged for a grand function on January 2nd 2010.

VTV is the much expected film of the year and stars Silambarasan and Trisha in the lead roles.

I am new here. and let me start from this topic.

i am so glad today. because, i have registed this username long time before and i have requested the admin to activate it. but unfortunately that never happened and i was keep visiting this site and reading all the stuffs you guys are writing about arr. i was really sad at that time because, i was really helpless to give my inputs here. anyway, now it's all is well.

Hosanna Preview is really rocking. (fingers crossed). arr is trying to change the music into a different level with this album i guess. there is only one director who is doing such experiments in indian music history and that's a r rahman. and we should thank him for that.

Academy award winner AR Rahman’s first Tamil film album Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) after he got the Oscars, is creating tsunami waves with fans even before the official release of the album!

A 30 second clip from VTV, “Hosanna..” sung by Blaze, Vijay Prakash and Suzanne has been released on youtube. It has created a stir among fans of ARR, who are still waiting eagerly for the official audio launch of the film by Sony Music in India in the first week of January 2010.

The clipping has been taken from AR Rahman interview in London on the BBC world news, talking about Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa music translated very romantically as “Will you cross the skies for me?”

VTV directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, a past master in song picturisation has Silambarasan and Trisha in the lead. The ‘Hosanna’ song simply rocks with superb choreography by Flexy Stu ( the guy who choreographed the “Adiye Kollathu..” in Vaaranam Aayiram) and picturised on Simbu and Trisha in Malta, by cameraman Manoj Paramahamsa.

Flexy Stu is Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan’s favourite choreographer and they have done hit commercials including the Hide-n-Seek biscuit. In his upcoming film, Kites, Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut learned the difficult dance steps from Flexy.

Honours follow A R Rahman wherever he goes. Less than a week after he won the accolades of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at an award function, the latest news on the Oscar winner is that- he has been awarded the Honorary Fellowship from the coveted Trinity College of Music in London.

According to the official website of Rahman, the award was presented to him by music director of the Royal Ballet Convent Garden, Barry Wordsworth, on December 16, in Greenwich, United Kingdom.

He was honoured with the fellowship in recognition of his ¡°distinctive contribution to music and creativity in the arts¡±. It is to be noted that Trinity College of Music, incorporated by Trinity Laban, is one of the reputed music institutions in the world.

On Monday last, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presented the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2009 award to music maestro A R Rahman at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi.

Lauding the Oscar-winning music composer, the Prime Minister said: ¡°Rahman¡¯s music is inspirational... When I heard Rahman in the White House, you cannot imagine the sense of joy and achievement...¡±

Yes. This song took some time. First time (samples) when i listened I wasn't impressed though the guitar usage is simply beautiful.

The music of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ composed by Academy Award winner A R Rahman, has not been released as yet in India. Sources close to the film’s makers say that it would hit the stores and will be available to listeners from the 10th of January. On the other hand, a few people by hook or crook have got their hands on rough drafts of the earlier versions of a song that goes “Hosanna” from the album.

The film’s makers are unhappy about this piracy and are keen to stop such dishonest activities. As the music is copyright protected, the film’s team has issued a complaint with the cyber crime cell about this illicit transfers and downloading of the song over the internet or through emails.

Director Goutham Menon has issued a press release in order to spread the news that software has been installed to track the song over the net before its official release. The producers of the film have further advised warning to all those who are engaging themselves in the online transfer of the song. The crew of ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ wants to put in that it's unethical to do so. Moreover these kinda activities cannot be calculated as simple cases of music lovers who are just eager to listen to the music. Goutham Menon has requested the audience to support the team and said, “Please stop downloading and transferring the songs of Vinnaithandi Varuvaya.”

The audio launch in london spoiled things. They promoted it as an audio launch and people started expecting songs to be released soon. Then they said its a preview. So, i think this is partly their fault.

Hmm... listened to Hosanna. Sounds a bit strange on the first listening. I feel the song has just the small melody part of Blaaze's rap repeated again and again. And most of the song consists of humming and instrumental bits. Nothing new in it that we haven't heard in the 30 sec BBC clip melody wise. But anyway great song.

The was no changes in the Sivaji songs. The so called leaked version was just the audio in Mono channel, so only 1 channel's sound was concertrated and adjusted it to stereo sound, that's y it sounded slightly different.

VTV audio on Jan 10. Next it will be Jan 14 (Pongal), and then Jan 30 (Thaipusam), then it will be Feb 14 (Valentines) then Tamil New Year! I think i will write a complain article to the media websites about their sickening delays. Its one of the way to show them our frustration...

Baba, its funny how since the start only Hosana song is being leaked, and ofcource Omana Penne abit too. But they have focused on Hosana only. Ooo a lots happened since I was on here last. So everyone's heard Hosanna? Lots of people saying its short. I think its because the vocal parts are so spaced out with lots of instrumental/ humming portions.

Gautham Menon’s films have great music. So before the release of his films the songs from them are illegally posted on the net.

The latest is that the songs of his Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya , musical journey with academy award winning AR Rahman is on the net before its official release on January 10!

The songs of the film, directed by Gautham Menon, and starring Silambarasan and Trisha, found their way to YouTube a few days ago. Gautham has decided to take action.

His publicist has issued a statement-“The music is copyright protected and we have filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell about the unauthorised posting and downloading of the songs”

Later the producers have also issued a cautionary warning note to fans against illegally downloading from the site, adding that a software has been installed to track the song until its official release.

wow, the producers are really creating a huge buzz around VTV audio. I really appreciate that. The methods are a bit questionable but it works. Is this maybe the most anticipated audio release after Sivaji ? When was the last time, they released more than 20 Posters each with new tag lines ? Audio launch in London. First time appearence on BBC. First movie after Oscars. GM-ARR combination. Leak of a great song.

Seems like it's going to be another sure hit by A.R.Rahman

(if you want compare it to an average audio promotion just look at GOA. It's also promoted by Sony)
